Hi Alex tent repair by zip nest idea is some iron on repair patching and strip and then sew each side to that.
Threaded ali won't last long where it's used on legs plus you will get galvanic corrosion

nice job ,you can get a tent fabric cleaner and restorer kit after cleaning you just spray on and it restores your water proofing ,i use the trakker one for all my fishing kit and can recommend it
