04:09 in between the alternator and your AC compressor clutch you’ll see two bolt holes. You can buy a tensioner assembly and pulley that attaches to that mount and run a slightly longer belt with it so you don’t have to cut it every time. You may have to add a few washers to create an appropriate gap between the tensioner pulley and timing belt cover, but that worked for me.

Great video. I just picked up two Subaru's . After dealing with Honda's balancer bolt for 20yrs this bolt was no problem. 😉

150 000 miles on the original graphite composite gasket is impressive. I have the same as your's but a 2008 Impreza 2.5i with 62000 miles (2.5i manual hatch sport group). Used many of your vids to do some maintenance myself (spakplugs, PCB, fuel filter). And just did the TB, pulleys and tensionner. Hope my head gaskets will hold. If you do change them, use the MLS (multi layered steel) from the gen 3 WRX or gen 3 STi and you won't have to worry about them failing anymore, so as long as you deck the heads. Cheers !

hi! Im from Manila, Philippines and Im new to your channel. Im loving your tutorials for the 1997 Maxima also known as the Cefiro A32 in my side of the globe because I have the same car. I just want to know if you can show us how to change the shift indicator light on the car IF you still have the car that is. It will be a massive help. Thank you and keep making these tutorial videos, they are a great help

For the AC belt, there are to screw holes side by side between the pulleys, that is where the tensioner bolts on in my 03 outback. Maybe you can bolt one on and convert it to adjustable belt style?

I have just got a question for you I absolutely did the same thing you did I put a hole in the exact same spot that you did on top of that timing chain cover. With that being said did they create a noise under the hood wants that piece was cracked? Cuz mine is now making a like a motor noise kind of sort of after I crack that piece and it wasn't before? If you could get back to me as soon as possible I would really appreciate it I don't know if I can drive it cuz I think that pieces down the side there and I don't want to mess nothing up did you drop it off of that piece of cracked?

Is there a gasket behind the cover anywhere? That keeps oil from leaking? I am doing some investigating in my own oil leak but my timing cover is broken so gonna replace it also.

Great Video. I am curious to know how to you remove the v belt cover? I have issue to remove it which is the bolt in your video at 1:29 (You have already move it). Since it is plastic, not sure hot to do that.

My mechanic told me I’m leaking oil from behind my timing belt cover… what would be leaking oil behind it? Cam seals or something he refused to work on it

Sounds like a real champ of a mechanic, I’d find someone else who’s not afraid of a little hard work, every town has a couple genius mechanics
