look there you have a van again ! you are doing great ! the welds are sure improving and showing others they can do it too ! What a great gift to show others they can do it if they try and keep on going !
your welding has got better and as long as its strong thats all thats important! what you could do to neaten it up is use a angle grinder with a grinding wheel to make it nice and flush after welding. Sometimes i use a cutting disc on the angle grinder instead of a grinding disc also works well. but great job well done thx for sharing much appreciated!
nice one Martin, your welds do look better, well done for not letting adverse comments from putting off.. a problem I have found when using a MIG welder outside is the breeze stopping the argon mix from shielding the weld, this is a big problem.
dsldg2 Yes, It has been too windy over the last week and that's a reason i've not done more. It was mild and quite still today hense the vid. Cheers Martin
Looks like you have done a great job to me Martin, to the people who give you negative comments i bet they wouldn't have even attempted it !. Keep making your great video's i really enjoy watching ! cheers.
danelectro68 HI Neil, Thanks, yes I'm feeling more confident with the Mig now I've had some practice. I think the Por 15 was the best option especially as I had 6 cans of the stuff lol. Cheers Martin
like you i have a transit and its undergoing a few up grades im like you just a person who loves to have a go top marks to you, and in welding practice makes perfect the more you do the better you get at it best regards john
what a great life you seem to have, and a great family, love watching your videos.... P.S. your weldings getting better, practice makes perfect, take no notice of negative comments, keep doin what your doin mate
Cheers Carl, yes, we enjoy out lifestyle but it wasn't always like this. We had to make it happen and we got where we want to be doing our own thing. Cheers Martin
your welding is good, ive seen much worse from so called experts! if it was on show you could grind down the weld. but penetration is the most important. great videos 👍
I commented on your last vid it's all about practice and it seems your practice is paying off :D That's some decent welding. BUT you're STILL holding the tip too close mate, back it off about 1/2 an inch :)
You can see between 1 and this video that there is a real improvement on the level of welding. The fabrication isn't bad either. You should have your own welding business I think.
i sold the Transit but The Vactan and Por15 are totally different products. the Por 15 doesn't stop rust. It just provides a hard painted surface but the Vactan actually attacks the rust and converts it to a solid non ferrous material. the Vactan is great.
love the vids its mad me look at mine and its just the same just woundring if i could ask a quick question what mm plate was you whelding with on the chassis
Your welding has really improved. You could buy failed MOT Vans and recondition for profit. You could leave the Trolls comments up and watch the fireworks. I love putting the boot in them. Love that Barney , would you trade him for 2 kitties and a backyard rabbit who lives under a neighbors deck?
Brian Percival The van thing did cross my mind Bri, I definatly know Transits a bit better now. I just don't want to give the trolls any airtime Bri, they thrive on it. I think Sharon would have something to say if I swapped Barney lol. Cheers Martin
retrorestore From what I can gather, vans seem to be selling well at the moment, much better than cars, so it may well be worth looking into - was chatting to a mate last night and he's even had someone knock on his front door asking if his was for sale. I have been looking at "flipping" cars, starting off with an old banger (I may start my own series of videos on it), just need some cash to start off with. It can be possible to have some fun with trolls, but I agree, it's not worth it (it's not worth the "negative vibe").
mrman17 Yes, I agree, Can make some money buying cheap, fix and sell it on. I found having Vans or a pickup truck, 'Friends' ask to borrow it, usually at the end of a month when people are moving, or buying something bulky that wont fit in a car. After a Troll posts the crap they do, it is a free for all where the Troll takes a never ending beating as more and more people take shots at them. The email account fills up quick and if they have a notify on, will be going off all hours of the night. For some quick cash I like Martins lawnmower fix and sell quick, it is the season for it. Good luck
Yesss HE'S NEARLY DONE IT!
Fair play for taking the job on in the first place Martin.
It was a big job!
markybyeah It was bigger than I expexted Mark. However, I know a lot more about Transit rust points now lol
Cheers
Martin

Looking good, I would inject some Waxoyl in to the box sections and apply some underseal to stop the rust coming back after all your hard work.
markpirateuk Yes, I have the waxoil to do that at the end of the job.
Cheers
Martin
Looks like you have done a great job to me Martin, to the people who give you negative comments i bet they wouldn't have even attempted it !. Keep making your great video's i really enjoy watching ! cheers.
thanks pal much appreciated
Welding has improved well done looks like you have a few other projects on the go
Nice job Martin, I can see you're relaxing more with the welder, that'll last a good few years with the POR 15.
danelectro68 HI Neil, Thanks, yes I'm feeling more confident with the Mig now I've had some practice. I think the Por 15 was the best option especially as I had 6 cans of the stuff lol.

Gooxd job, all around.
You can see between 1 and this video that there is a real improvement on the level of welding. The fabrication isn't bad either. You should have your own welding business I think.

well done mate good job { mine s bloody crap}
Mine was too but I saved it. Still have it as well.
How is the rust on the transit holding up? I.e is the por 15 and vactan keeping it under control? Which one did you find was better? Thanks
i sold the Transit but The Vactan and Por15 are totally different products. the Por 15 doesn't stop rust. It just provides a hard painted surface but the Vactan actually attacks the rust and converts it to a solid non ferrous material. the Vactan is great.

mrman17 There's always plenty of vans for sale that need welding and I feel that I know Transits inside out for rust.
