whoever the fuck is turning up to these gigs and filming the whole thing i thank u from the bottom of my heart, even though i'm not sure it is what Mike would want, i am eternally grateful.
I'm going to his show in Durham next week. I'm a little older at 44 but he's insanely talented. I get early Prince vibes with him and it's so original. This and Tigers Blood from Waxahatchee are the best albums this year so far.
@@GoAndLive It was insane. Hard to describe it in a sentence but it was intimate and real. Those two things have been missing in my world and the shows I've seen in the last 10 years. I was also like a grandpa to those kids there lol.
As a guitar player, thank you for this. Always helpful to see what wizardry he’s doing with that guitar lol. I was situated right in the middle of the crowd, got a perfect balanced sound. The man just might be 1 of 1.
Not exactly the best video to see what he’s doing on the guitar. And doesn’t a lot of the sound come from the old-school tape deck he uses as like a pre amp?
weird the copyright for how many miles. must mean that it's s0 close to the studio version its considered forgery. Says a lot about Mk.gee's live performances, e.g. spot on. Can't wait to see him live.
Man major thanks for capturing this! I was there as well that night and will come back this forever. What a night. Man hit a groove, was in his bag 100%
saw him live in toronto and it was the best concert i ever been to. i was too in awe to record anything so i’m so grateful you were able to capture this ❤
@@VanBaylen I’m pretty sure it’s not actually a baritone. I think it’s a 60’s reissue Jaquar modded with baritone strings. Then it runs direct through a 90’s Tascam 4-track as his preamp/overdrive. I mean, whaaaa!?? 🤯
@@wxbrewer if you wanna get technical, sure it’s modified to be a baritone guitar, but nonetheless, it’s ultimately a baritone guitar after the conversion. And the sound that everyone trips about is actually really much credited to a pedal by a company called Rainger FX. It’s a reverb pedal that has a threshold that activates when strummed loud. Gives it that distorted sound. The Tascam is really only there to give the output some color and a bit distortion. But it’s not “the” sound everyone hears. He also uses a Boss BF 3 flanger I believe which also gives it that modified overtone to tie everything together .
Enjoying this a lot thanks! What a set. Do you know if one of the other musicians were playing bass or is the entire low end from Mike’s baritone guitar?
I want to see him so bad dude! Hardly any decently big "indie" artist come to Oklahoma even though Tulsa has a great scene and Norman/OKC is cool as well
I was at this show. I know you can hear people in the background but honestly when I was there all I can hear was how beautiful mk.gee sounded everything else didn’t even matter. So what people are doing does not concern me, they’re having fun 🤷♀️

How was the show??
When I first listened to him I thought the exact same thing about early prince vibes

Alexis was the encore and it was mind blowing. Walked out like I had really witnessed something special.
@@sopant that’s great to hear. The mage makes magic!!

saw him live in toronto and it was the best concert i ever been to. i was too in awe to record anything so i’m so grateful you were able to capture this ❤

i went to this show, it was awesome.
the urge to hear him live has never hit me this bad... THANKS FOR THE VIDEO MAN BLESS UP
Lonely Fight is so good
THANK YOU
Man thank you so much for this. Finally some music made today we can actually relate to.
bro uploaded the video as promised😭 you are a scholar and a king
You are absolutely amazing ❤
It's insane how much his tone and fills remind me of Tony Levin during Little Bit More.
Oh absolutely… the studio version also sounds like he’s kinda trying to make his own version of a Peter Gabriel song
thank you
Yesss that I love you guy is back!
That’s my lil brother😭
i want to see him live so bad,but until turn this will do 🥲
Goated for uploading this, thank you!!!
WHATT thank u this is awesome

Thank you
Thank you so much for this, I want to see him live so bad
Thank you so much for sharing!
thanks sm for sharing 💘 i couldn’t not do the $200 resale sf tickets LOL 💔
Yeah the resale prices were insane
Thanks for recording! Wish I made it out 😩. Were his strings super heavy gauge, nylon?
They weren’t nylon. But they were pretty thick!!
the closest i’ll get to seeing mkgee on this tour :’(
Please tell me you got tickets for the next tour!!
@@miggi1644 i did!!!
Bro you actually played his guitar that is insane!!
I know I’m still shaking from that💆♂️
You realize that guitar is gonna be iconic one day. 😎

It’s all Mike
Zach Zekoff played bass for a couple songs. I think it was I Want and Alesis
new low. heavy
The mage? Is that the nomenclature? Love it
Yes, he doesn’t JUST make music. He makes magic💫🧙♂️🗣️
Broooooooooooooo
new low version sounds like aphex twin (!)
Acho que encontrei meu som de guitarra...pensei que so eu tocava estranho...
What does he say at 28:00? Is he dropping this song? So good
He says, “We’re still working it out”
@@GoAndLivedang🤧.did someone just yelled “drop that shit” in the back? 😂
Yo, I hope he drops asap.
awesome as fuck

he did not play this many songs Fonda night one 😭
Bladerunner ass. 100% from the future😭 looks like there’s a fucking UFO behind him
Love your perspective🧙♂️
trate de acertar o solo quando eu for ver teu show ein malucao
Have the shows on this tour had openers?
No. Mike doesn’t do openers
What song is at 24 minutes?
Unreleased song, “Lonely Fight” so so good
@@GoAndLiveSuch a great song. Reminds me of Bonnie Raitt’s songwriting.
wtf i didn't know he was in town
Andrew Aged on his side?
Yup. My hero🙏
alien
why go to a show and scream the lyrics to the entire song? i noticed this in a video for Dijon.
Please people, we came to hear the artist not some shitty yell singing

Or record the whole thing while watching through your phone.
My eyes were enamored with Mike n Andrew. Trust, I did not look at my phone more than a couple times throughout the set
Why else would you go to a show? If you want to hear the songs listen on Spotify
