Thank you for sharing this journey with all of us . We are all continuing to pray for sweet Sully and his wonderful parents. 🙏🏻 🤍 Continued prayers for healing 🙏🏻
I wish I would’ve been sedated when I had mine. Had it at 14 with no warning what they were going to do, no calming meds, no sedation. It was one of the most traumatic things I’ve gone through, it was torture. They were rough on purpose bc they thought I was lying and being dramatic, turns out they did find a big problem in there. However, since he was sedated I wouldn’t expect him to remember any of it. I don’t remember any procedures I was sedated for! So sorry y’all have to watch him go through it, I’m sure it was a hard day ❤
@@WickedlyMe328 so sorry you’ve been through that as well. I was upset to learn years ago it is actually recommended to sedate over 2yrs because otherwise it can be traumatic, when they never offered that or even bothered to explain it to me ahead of time. It was at Texas children’s so it’s not like they’re unfamiliar with how it should be handled.
I’ve had multiple you Urodynamic studies done over the past 6yrs and I can confirm that they aren’t a nice thing at all to be done while awake- I’ve labeled it the torture test and If I had a choice I’d have chosen to be sedated. I have multiple bladder conditions (Fowler’s Syndrome and interstitial cystitis) that have resulted in me needing to self catheterise and also have my bladder removed and a new bladder or Neobladder formed from my small intestine as well as a permanent catheter channel know as a ‘Mitrofanoff’ where I self catheterise from my belly button. It always amazes me how far modern day medicine has come! You guys seem like amazing parents and I wish you, Sully and his wonderful donor nothing but the best on this transplant journey. Send you all lots of love from Australia 🇦🇺
@@caityrobson8872 they do just seem terrible! Definitely considering the pros and cons of him being fully put under next time around-hopefully not for a little while though 🙏🏻 Thank you for sharing a part of your story and encouraging us ❤️❤️
I relate to this! Never was I offered any sedation or calming meds at 14! No one even bothered to explain what the test was going to be, or I never would’ve let them do that to me! Extremely traumatic when not sedated.
Yes, Raiders! I grew up a Raiders fan due to a 2nd cousin who played for them and took them to 2 Superbowls. He is the best QB... Jim Plunkett! But, Sully is the best boy in the world! ❤ I love him so much!
Keep up the good work! You are your child's greatest advocate! Edit: depending on your Urologist, it could be the same guy who worked on mine when I got shot. It would be wild if Sully and I had the same guy in common.
I had to have that bladder stretching and urine output done as a child….was NO FUN! I wish I was sedated for it! I remember being 3 and being held down for it. I had/have a condition with my bladder where it’s spastic. They were trying to make it so I didn’t use the bathroom every 5 minutes! I was so happy when they quit doing that test!
