I noticed the aquarium in the background. Our son was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s and we set up an aquarium to help him calm down and relax. It’s been both enjoyable and relaxing to him and really does help us both. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
How lovely to acknowledge some folks do not or can't celebrate Christmas. My daughter had what should have been minor surgery on 24th Nov it went badly wrong ended up all day in surgery and back for another full day the following day. I am so relieved she is home got home on her Birthday 20th Dec will be a very long recovery and may need more surgery but for this weekend my daughter and husband can close door cuddle up and breathe... Us as mum and dad can do the same neither have decorated or done presents they are not important having my daughter alive and safe at home is important. We will do a random alternative Christmas when life less stressful in 2023 who knows it may become, a family tradition
How familiar are you with it? Can you tell me more? Thank you for your comment because you are the first person that I heard say what little you to say about it. My ob/gyn had told me that I have adenomyosis but I never really got any tests about it or anything. She just asked me a couple questions and then say "yes you have what is called 'adenomyosis' and she told me that it was basically, that when it's time for my period, the lining of my uterus and the menstrual blood goes upward first and throughout my uterus *before* it goes down and comes out through my vagina.. and then she said it's a form of endometriosis, but then some. I kinda understand that, but not really. Now, IDK if I could even get in touch with that same doctor anymore so I have a lot of un answered questions.

Nice to see you Maggie. Glad to hear your father is doing well. I am sorry to hear you are having pain in your kidneys and frequently feel ill with your ileostomy. Your health is most important, and whilst we like to see you and are concerned when we don't, we understand there may be weeks where you cannot vlog. Happy Christmas to you and Zach; and to all the wonderful people in this community.
Hi Maggie & Zak & all the pups! Great to see your upload Maggie, it’s such good news about your Dad. Both my parents have passed but I know how intense it gets when one is ill and having surgery. I hope you all have a wonderful and merry Christmas and a healthy and happy new year! Just wanted to say as the year is wrapping up, your videos have helped me more than I can say. I had emergency surgery for a perforated colon in May, ended up with a colostomy and in the hospital for a few weeks bc I went septic and with no family left I was by myself. I found you on TH-cam and it made a very hard time a lot easier. Please keep doing what you do, Maggie. Even though you might not hear from everyone you help, you do help TREMENDOUSLY. Love & hugs from me & my cat 🫶🏼💕🎄🎅
I too had a perforated colon after a gall bladder op and ended up with an ileostomy and have developed an inoperable, very large, incisional hernia, massive, which is difficult to manage and live comfortably with ..However reading Maggie s story helps me to cope.Being more than three times Maggies age I'm so used to talking about disabilities and these videos help to not feel alone,to help each day to survive,to live a normal life ,my normal anyway.Maggie you are such a shining example thank you.x
Thanks for mentioning that after surgery you don't go back to how you are. I think that is so important to know. I often have twinges here and there and I think it is scar tissue. You reassure us! I also had part of the ureter removed and scar tissue removed, so I know how you feel about that!
I had adenomyosis and had to get a hysterectomy because of it. I suffered for years with chronic pelvic pain, bladder symptoms and so many other issues with that whole area😞 I kept getting diagnosed with endometriosis until I forget what test showed the adnomyosis. Since the hysterectomy that all pretty much went away however my pelvic floor was and 😅is a nightmare due to the hysterectomy 🤷♀️ I also really have know idea what the hell it is but it did cause me a lot of issues. I also suffer from severe bladder pain and extreme discomfort for years, which they were continually treating with antibiotics 🤯 when the went to take my uterus they found all these lesions on my bladder called hunners lesions. She cauterized the lesions and filled the bladder with medicine and I was good for almost two years😳 amazing but in 2 weeks I’m doing it again because I can’t take it anymore 😞 I’m happy about your results but I find it can be very confusing 🤞🤞🤞🎄🎁merry Christmas and good luck getting to the bottom of everything, I’m still trying to figure all my crap out also🤯
Hi Maggie and Zak!! Glad to hear your Dad is doing so great. It took everything I had to get my tree up and decorated. It doesn't have as many ornaments as usual but it's good. I did do a little shopping and now I need to wrap. Your snow as so pretty. We had little itty bitty tiny snow flakes yesterday but you can't tell it snowed. Our temps are low teens during the day and the lows are in the single digits. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Yes, January and February there is nothing happening other than super bowl, A friend of mine usually has a post holiday party at mid February. I wish you well with everything. You seem very pleasant.
You are one of the bravest persons I have ever come across.just now I'm going through a traumatic time,.myself and family but your story puts a every thing into perspective.God bless you and your lovely husband.xx
Glad you are coping and are happy. Thanks for being so helpful and generous in disseminating this personal health information with such a friendly and upbeat attitude. Whenever I talk to a doctor or any medical professional, even with a prepared list of topics, I often freeze and forget to discuss something or not take in information. I consider this safe space to learn. Happy holidays to all!
Thanks for the update, Maggie. Good to see you and Zak. So glad you dad is doing well. I just wanted to mention, I had adenomyosis - my very astute OB/GYN I had in Virginia told me it was a sister disease to endometriosis (which I had been diagnosed with a few years prior). My adenomyosis got so bad that I had a lot of pressure on my left side which radiated into my upper thigh. I could hardly walk after several months of it building up. Apparently it prevents the uterus from shedding all the blood each month so that it builds up and causes the swelling of the tube and the pressure and pain. Due to my age (I was 47 at the time), I decided on a hysterectomy as this was not the only problem I had. It just compounded things. I fortunately didn't go into early menopause as I was able to keep my right ovary. Left one was in bad shape along with fallopian tubes and repeated problems with endometriosis in my uterus. Anyway, I felt so much better after all that was removed.
Merry Christmas to you both. Wishing you all the best 2023. ❤ My grandfather has just had ostomy surgery at the age of 92. He made it through the surgery with no problems and is recovering well. I understand so much more because of you and can help him through this journey 😊
Thank you so much for the wonderful update! So sorry about the reflux. I can sympathize! My bewitching hour is between two a.m and 3 a.m. Remember to take care and pace yourself! I am so glad that your Dad is doing well! May Zak and you have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
GIRL I wouldn’t have Decorated it’s way to close to Christmas besides all you need is Light 💡…. I have suffered with Acid reflux my entire life…..It’s Awful I always feel so full from the top of my stomach and into my throat At times when I bend over it’s coming out of my mouth 👄…..I have been on Meds a lot of year’s and so GREATfUL for them…. I can remember the Pressure feeling in my stomach through my throat until I vomited then I would start feeling better……It was like a pressure cooker…..MERRY CHRISTMAS to the Both of You….. Always watching from Virginia 🌹
So great to have an update! I hope you're able to get some answers from the MRI. I totally understand the lack of Christmas celebrations this year. I've really been struggling with depression this year, trying to put together a new treatment plan, and it's taken all my energy just to work and take care of myself. But there will be other years for cookie baking, parties, etc. Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the update. Hope you guys had an awesome Christmas!! We did a half job of our tree.. we put three ornaments on and a tiny sting of lights. Our whole outside is decked out, the lights even beat with music. Oh well, there’s always next year.
Many blessings to you and zack and family, sorry health issues of my own but still wanted to check on you. (Heard there was a storm coming) girl, you’re good! Anyway, praying for both of you two and those fur babies I wanna come and kidnap, just for a bit. Take a nap girl!!!!!!! So glad your father is ok. I am. Ow on hospice care and that just sucks for everyone. But anyway, love you all and wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas! Please be safe and be blessed. I wanted to ask you how many gifts you guys usually exchange with each other. Love ya girl. Ty for keeping us posted! 🎄⭐️
So good to hear from you Maggie!:) I hope you and Zach have a wonderful Christmas. Hoping and praying you feel great and can enjoy the peace and calm of the holidays. 😊 ❤️ 🎄
When I had my hysterectomy for endometriosis, I was told afterwards that I had adenomyosis, which they described then as “endometriosis inside the uterus.” It didn’t surprise me because of the severity of my endo. I had exactly the same, was also told it was endometriosis on the inside of the uterus, and I also had to get a hysterectomy. That was the best move ever. No regrets re that. Merry Christmas
Me too! Adeno is so painful , I had a radical hysterectomy which helped a lot. I wish I had kept my ovaries tho, I wasn’t in menopause yet so that’s been hellish!
It was great to see you both , your Christmas tree is beautiful, glad to hear good news about your dad , Happy Holidays to you both and the dogs , look forward to seeing you soon thanks so much for sharing your life and health updates with us all year round 💖🎄🎁☃️❄️💖 xx
So awesome to see you guys Maggie, so grateful you guys are well. Thank you so much for the updates. Merry Christmas to you, Zak and your family. 💐💐💐💐💐
I think women's health (reproductive-wise) is not spoken about as much as it should be. I was in my late 40's when my then gyno told me I had PCOS and that it had been in my records for years. I was never treated for it. If I can get back into my own channel more (I haven't found my camera or mini tripod since moving), I want to start addressing things like this and how important it is for us to read our medical records, get copies of imaging, and read those reports. I think if we get into the habit of doing these things, it might be easier to get our voices heard.
Maggie and Zak, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you very much for sharing your lives with us, it is much appreciated all the time and effort you put into these videos. I am looking forward to watching more videos in the New Year.
Glad to see you and Zak, I'm so glad that your Dad is doing and feeling a lot better after his operation. Wishing you all the very best in good health, hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 😊 love and hugs to you both and all your family. XxxX ❤ ❤ ❤
So great to see you again. I'm glad your Dad is improving and got his wheels back for a bit of normalcy. Hope the temperature climbs in a few days as the front leaves. A lot of wind gusts here as it changed from ice to snow. Tree looks good. If I hadn't started ours in November, it still wouldn't be up. I'm curious about any feedback you can get from surgeon and disappointed insurance made that call to nix the CT. The reflux is definitely a thing along with the nausea. I was told my bile was in over production but the powder they gave caused some serious headaches. Not sure you are following Tif but she transferred today to the ward from ICU. Her surgery was Sunday. Four weeks to go before releasing. Ostomy yes but not sure if she lost her bladder too. She knows you are there. Merry Christmas and enjoy the gift giving with all the kids.
After I thought we were Never going to get it, it happened here in Sydney and across many parts of Australia ( Although I believe Western Australia’s had it it for a week or two longer). Summer has finally Really arrived. Some parts of this country are going through a mini heatwave at the moment. And in the last week or two or three South Australia’s the one who’s being flooded in parts. It’s being Really crazy and at times heartbreaking weather for some people in Australia of late. And I’m just thankful that my husband and I aren’t anywhere near a flooded area….. So in Honour of Summer, I’ll wish You Maggie and Zak a Happy Midsummer. And if there’s no TH-cam post for the next two to three or so weeks have a safe, peaceful and prosperous New Year…… ⚛️☮️🌏
Endo is on the outside of the uterine lining and adeno is on the inside of the uterine lining and can cause abdominal pain and can cause painful period and painful intercourse
If I were you, I'd talk to a urologist for sure. Kidney surgeon is good too. Someone, anyhow just for mental well-being. Tiffany in London had her surgery. Since I don't have or know anything about Instagram I only know she had it. It was expected to be a 12 to 14 b our surgery, I believe. I know you reached out to her but she wasn't thinking about after surgery. Too scary. But as surgery came closer doctors kept informing her. Things gotvrealbat the end for her. Nothing prepares someone for after until after. Your advocacy has helped me so much. I don't have Chrones, my mom did. I have irritable bowel. When doctors have no idea why your insides haven't worked well since early childhood that's the diagnosis you get when they can't find a reason for the nausea, and general disfunction. This year has been much better than the previous two years. Anyhow, your attitude and advocacy is useful for mystery intestinal problems too. You give me reason to not get depressed. I'm not! Yay! I do look for you. I enjoy your personality. Happy holidays to you both and to your father and family from someone who doesn't know any of you!
@@nancylewis3754 Thanks for the update. Any idea what they did and how she is? Going to send her a get well card when I know she might get well. It would be cruel to send a hopeful card if they found more cancer inside than they expected. Since she's on a ward that's a good sign but she still might be feeling awfully rocky. They said it might take a year to fully heal. Ugh!
I get infusions every 28 days for autoimmune issues. I freeze during the infusions and for days after. Do you have information that the coldness comes from the infusions?
I have a best friend and neighbor that's from Pennsylvania & I love how he says "bad and sad & mad, glad" mostly "bad" lol it's adorable 😊 That's "bad as bi-ed" lol his accent.
Adenomyosis basically took away my ability to retain a pregnancy. Which in turn stole my ability to start a family of my own. I've been through a lot with my health but adenomyosis single handedly ended my chances for reproduction 😥
@@LetsTalkIBDthanks one for question. I remember a few years ago. You said an MRI showed your right kidney was narrowed (this was an accidental finding, I think u were getting a MRI for gastro stuff but the MRI showed narrow right ureter and at the time you had no symtoms of kidney pain and you saw a female urologist who dismissed the case) What was the name of that MRI test done that time?
Isn’t our medical system great with the cost and money spent with the most expensive health care system in the world and you still feel not satisfied with answers from diagnosis. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years and a healthier 2023. Gotha, Florida. 🎄
I think it is insane that these obviously highly technical reports are not automatically discussed with the appropriate medical person. How can anyone without medical training make decisions about the next steps, if any. At least you are Medically trained.. Even if not an expert. Our system defines insanity.
I noticed the aquarium in the background. Our son was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s and we set up an aquarium to help him calm down and relax. It’s been both enjoyable and relaxing to him and really does help us both. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Adenomyosis is endometriosis inside the uterus. And yes, it can definitely cause long, heavy periods. Even if there's not a large amount.
How familiar are you with it? Can you tell me more?

Tiffany has an update on instagram. She came thru surgery and was in ICU longer than they thought. She is in a ward now.
Ugh!
Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas Maggie and Zak 🎄🥂❤️💙💚
I had a nephrectomy 2 weeks ago. Gonna try and sleep on that side for the first time tonight 💤💤😊
Merry Xmas and a healthy NY to you both 🧑🎄🎄
We missed you.
Merry Christmas!
I get infusions every 28 days for autoimmune issues. I freeze during the infusions and for days after. Do you have information that the coldness comes from the infusions?
Merry Christmas ❤
Merry Christmas
I have a best friend and neighbor that's from Pennsylvania & I love how he says "bad and sad & mad, glad" mostly "bad" lol it's adorable 😊
That's "bad as bi-ed" lol his accent.
r u feeling any better thuogh this past few weeks
I was diagnosed with adenomyososis and had a hysterectomy to keep me from getting cancer
Zack looks like a real elf! :)
Yall might get a massive snow ❄️ maybe a blizzard. Winter storm Elliot is hitting around y'alls home☃️ We got wind and rain ☹️
Sometimes it takes getting halfway through a book to get into.
Have missed you guys!!! Merry Christmas!❤
Adenomyosis basically took away my ability to retain a pregnancy. Which in turn stole my ability to start a family of my own. I've been through a lot with my health but adenomyosis single handedly ended my chances for reproduction 😥
I figured you had Adenomyosis.. I only lasted until 30 before I got my hysterectomy!
What kind of MRI did you do? Was it with contrast? And what kind specifically? Mri abdonimal?
The exact title was "MR Abdomen/Pelvis Enteropraphy" and yes, I get oral and IV contrast!
@@LetsTalkIBDthanks one for question. I remember a few years ago. You said an MRI showed your right kidney was narrowed (this was an accidental finding, I think u were getting a MRI for gastro stuff but the MRI showed narrow right ureter and at the time you had no symtoms of kidney pain and you saw a female urologist who dismissed the case)
What was the name of that MRI test done that time?
It was the same MRI test I mentioned above! I used to get this test done yearly and it caught the kidney issue!
I have Endometriosis x
I had 20% of my left kidney removed due to cancer
Isn’t our medical system great with the cost and money spent with the most expensive health care system in the world and you still feel not satisfied with answers from diagnosis. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years and a healthier 2023. Gotha, Florida. 🎄
I think it is insane that these obviously highly technical reports are not automatically discussed with the appropriate medical person. How can anyone without medical training make decisions about the next steps, if any. At least you are Medically trained.. Even if not an expert. Our system defines insanity.
Does your brother help with father?
My brother is my half brother, so we have different dads! Although I'm sure he would if my dad asked!
How is your dad feeling after his surgery
Oh, yeah. There is an org for procrastinators, but no one has gotten around to joining it!

❤❤❤❤❤
Where has the “man child” been?
You been given the answers by the doctor but you still can’t accept their answers. Be kind to yourself. Happy holidays.
I had a hysterectomy a few weeks back, Stage 4 deep infiltrating Endometriosis & Adenomyosis. Very few people knew what Adeno was 🥲
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 🤶🎄
Merry Christmas to you and Zak. 🎄❤️💚
