Sending prayers y’all’s way. I totally remember the disappointment every time they had to change up my husbands dialysis orders. My husband was just approved to go on the deceased list as a back up for the living donor. He struggles with that thought of someone dying to get one. I keep trying to remind him that the person dying was already going to - it’s just their last gift. It’s not an organ that would determine them to die.

Our Heavenly Father alone is in control of life and death. We pray He, in His sovereignty and grace and mercy would bring life out of a sorrowful event of death for someone else.

Congrats on the big decision and though it is hard to think about celebrating a death, the person will have passed regardless and now they will give Sully beautiful new, stable life.

I hope this story is an encouragement to you, as you consider your sweet boy going through major surgery. Thirteen years ago, my husband was a living donor for his dad, a type 1 diabetic. As hard as surgery is, my FIL almost instantly felt better than he had in years! He had been doing peritoneal dialysis, as well. His numbers improved drastically, his skin tone, energy, quality of life- everything- improved so much with a new kidney! Better health is on the horizon for your son!!

I’m so excited for all three of you!!! I clicked on this video as soon as I read the title!!!!! I’m so excited and relieved for Sully, as well as for both of you. I can’t begin to understand how scary this time is. But I do know that our God is all-knowing, merciful, and ever loving. I’m praying for all three of you during this time. This is a terrifying thing, but it’s so worth it in the end because it will give Sully a better, longer life. And I’m sure a “perk” so to speak of Sully getting his transplant this young, is that he won’t remember the surgery, the pain after, and any of his difficult times around dialysis as well as his transplant. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Edit to add: as someone who’s medically complex, something that has been helpful for me and my parents is having bags packed and ready to go so that whenever you get the call, you can just throw everything in the car and go. Hope that helps!!!

Just make sure the cords are well hidden in Santa does not step on it or if Santa accidentally steps in your Santa can’t see the chords at night you should put a white pass the indicate where the cords are so Santa doesn’t step and smash the cords in the night Just to be safe mark path for Santa
