Your vlogs were so comforting to watch when I was going through the process of getting diagnosed and first trying my meds. It really helped to see that I wasn't alone and to hear about your experience. So awesome to see you're back and that you're feeling happier about things! :)

Hiya, I’ve found concerta gives you a lot more energy but the focus is still scattered, so you can do a lot fast, but still not necessarily the right things, if that makes sense? Try asking your Dr to add Strattera on as that is amazing for focus! It also usually means you don’t need quite so much stimulant medication! If the Dr won’t prescribe that then change your ssri to an snri (which Strattera is) as that will make a world of difference! Generally SSRI’s send people with adhd to sleep, as the higher you raise serotonin the lower the dopamine drops!

(49M) Thanks for the update - Im happy to know how well the medication is working for you! My very first thought when you came on screen was that you did still generally look better/happier/healthier than your earlier videos.
I got diagnosed a month ago, but am waiting on my doctor getting the authority to prescribe (Australia). Ive been surviving for about 6 months on 300mg of caffeine /d (spread out), since I learned about the symptoms etc. Now I know that all of this isnt "normal", its been real torture waiting for the day I get a phone call from the doc. Hearing that its worth it, and makes a difference, and describing your changes chemistry/thought patterns, was good to know and has made the wait easier.
Re The boobs - I hadnt noticed them until you pointed it out, but had to laugh when you rotated the camera to the coloured arty pics of boobs on the other side 😋

That's such a lovely thing to say, thank you By0n1c! I feel so much happier and healthier (in my mind at least!), so I'm glad it shows :)
I wish you all the luck in the world with your pursuit of treatment following your diagnosis - sending good vibes across the planet to Australia for you!

Meds make things just...work. At the right dose you can't feel it doing anything once it's kicked in, other than everything being so much smoother and easier, able to make and act upon active choices. And you really notice if you have a day or so off them - you are reminded just how exhausting and frustrating life used to be.

Ive been on Concerta XL since I was 24 (im nearly 22 now). It has literally got me through so much and it was like it was the missing piece in my brain. It feels bad to say but Im not sure where I'd be right now if concerta XL hadnt been given to me.
I agree that when I dont take it i feel awful! i feel overly stimulated and my brain gets too busy, Ive heard people not get on with concerta but i was very lucky that it was the first one i treid and it worked!

Thank you for sharing. What do you mean when you were saying you did not feel well after going four days without your medication? I am curious how it makes you feel. This is my first time watching one of your videos.
