Whoever this guy is? He needs a raise. Even thought I’ve been working on many cars for many years. It’s so damn nice to have tutorials that are so clearly spoken, great angles and have real world scenarios as we saw. Really love that I found this channel.

If your like me, you missed the star fitting on the very top of the shaft that made removal very easy, put wrench on the nut and then star fitting on the very top of the threaded shaft and loosen, I did cut the bolt off after trying to hold it down with vice grips etc, then called a friend and he told me about the fitting at the very top, hope that's helpful to somebody! Would have saved me a good hour of frustration and fighting as well as the danger of putting my angle grinder In there to cut off.

My 2010 Tacoma had OEM shocks with plastic outer shells so I cut them off with a razor knife and grabbed the stem with a vice grip. I had to grind a flat on one stem to keep it from spinning in the vice grip while I loosened the top nut.

Mine at the top stripped and I tried holding at the outer shell and nothing too going to have to drive it home like that and cut it off with a sawzall or grind the top flat

A sawzall would have cut through that in a minute, that's what I used for mine.

Your right a sawzall is the only way to go. I wasted time trying different things and then got out the sawzall and was done in 15 seconds.
