My friend is from political family, in there family there are 16 members and they have 30 suvs, can you even imagine. The have tons and tons of money.
They have 30 to 50 karyakartas (members of party) for there building's protection with police protection.
The salaries of MLAs and Mps must reasonably high coz the first reason is they are the representatives of society, and Indian society is not a low class society to pay enough them, the second reason is it indirectly stops the corruption and make them more loyal towards the society, to serve them well. The biggest reason of corruption is less pay, and it leads their mind to create blunders and scams. As being a representative their duty is to serve society well, the same way Society is accountable to pay them enough.
What kind of weed you smoke man?...the loyalty and less corruption depends on the procesure by which public can expel him from his job and can charge a case against him related to corruption and judgement will come quickly and he/she can be sent to jail...which majority western countries do...human hunger is not limited...you initially give him something he will want more...and regarding what they are doing...their salary should be reduced much more...an MLA's value is more than a trained Soldier...wow...

Indian society is growing everyday with the nicest capitalist approach and it's capable enough to pay its representatives enough for the service they are giving through making viable policies and creating a huge infrastructure to grow further. And Indian govt is paying enough to army and other forces by giving premium benefits like Pension for the life time, which system has already removed from all other govt jobs except of military. Now, go and search about the salaries of Public Representatives of countries like China, Canada, UK , US and other some developing and developed countries - you will surely hit by the reality.
