By the way it’s possible to live long with oripathy, if they get proper treatment. Schwarz lived for 20 years with oripathy… but most people will not last this long
now that i think about it originium is kinda like plastic we use it everywhere, and it is pobably inside of us in the form of micro plastic. sadly micro plastic doesnt give us cool magic powers.
It's kinda wild to see a video game with world building elements that connect to historical influences of the rise and danger of fossil fuels (coal in particular), the stigma of people with diseases (especially historical treatment of people with leprosy or HIV), and issues of nationalism and class warfare. It's an impressive world for a tower defense game to be set in.
Though the video explicitly says Oripathy is different from others disease currently known in Terra, let's say - just for the sake of the argument, make a comparison to a real world disease, shall we? From the 3 main ways of Oripathy infection spread, it can be safely says this disease is bloodborne disease, which is a disease that transmited through blood contact. Usually most bloodborne disease can transmit through sex too, but it's seems that is not the case here. From the cause of this disease, is, of course, a mineral called Originium, or for the sake of argument, non-organic substance. We actually have here in this world a disease caused by non-organic substance, quite a lot actually. Among them is Silicous Inhalation, when you work on dusty workplace and inhaling a lot of Silica dust, or when a Volcano erupts and you inhale a lot of ash. Then there is a Mercury Poisoning and Lead Poisoning. Then its about the Pathogenesis of the disease, by which I mean, how the disease works on the body and how it will progress. Basically, when a Point of Entry of Active Originium enter your body, it will then spread through your body via bloodstream, and it will latch to any cell in your body, mutate it, then it become a new "Vector" of Originium of infection inside your body and spread originium to other cell. Usually, the originium will latch on peripheral blood vessel, so it appear on your skin, the linings of your organ, the nerve system etc. etc. Next, the Symptoms of Oripathy. Based on the video, the Symptoms is vary greatly, because the Symptoms appears on organ it affected, whether skin, central nervous system, lung, internal organ etc. This is actually in parallel with our world Mercury Poisoning or Lead Poisoning since the non-organic particle can latch on any organ, but usually on organ with a lot static small blood vessel. So how we cure it? When we want to remove any non-organic substance within your body, we need a substance can easily bond with said non-organic substance so it no longer dangerous or turn it into easily removed substance with our own metabolism. But that easily said than done. In our world, Non-Organic Metal is very hard to remove from the body since its already "bond" with our cell, pretty much the same with the Originium did, but less 'infectious'. In the future, I hope there is a kind a Story when we make some kind of 'progress' on curing the Oripathy. I mean, I like Seaborn story, IS, Victoria etc. But we are the Doctor on Pharmaceutical Company first and foremost. It's kind of 'strange' 4 and half years of Arknight but we still do not have any kind of progress on that side of story.
Im wondering if you could prevent oripathy by amputating the part where you got wounded, i mean its doesnt really matter if your body get wounded everywhere but is it possible tho?.
your bloodstream would have already carried the active originium through your body- even immediate amputation (unless cauterised in the same cut) would just create a larger wound/vector for infection
I have no idea if it's been retconned or forgotten about, but in rare cases Oripathy can make the person physically stronger. the only operator that I know of is Popukar
Probably her Originium Arts somehow makes her physically stronger, like how you power-up a machine. But this time its your body fueled by magic cancer.
@@arcalliumIIRC she enters into some kind of berserker state of which she can't remember anything of the moment it stops. If I'm remembering correctly, the Witch King of Leithania straight up used living infected to preform certain originium arts in a way that would be lethal for those infected. Also technically the highly unethical treatment for oripathy called "Chimeraization" works by implanting originium shards from certain deceased infected into a living infected and this has the effect of attracting and drawing in the orginium within the living subject's body meaning you just have to manage the originium in that area mainly instead of worrying about the whole body... however the big side effect is that the living subject starts to take on the racial features of the original host of the implant shard, for example; Ifrit is/used to be a Salva like Asbestos basically salamander people. Now Ifrit looks identical to a typical member of the Sarkaz subspecies called "Diablos" which are by the way extinct and had been since before Ifrit.
yes in qaiser's history of arknights videos states that there are people actively hunting infected to use them as arts catalysts and infected themselves uses the originium in their bodies to use arts in exchange of accelerating their infection
Just a wild theory, but do you think they have dialysis in Terra? If so would that be able to filter out a large portion of the base originium in non infected operators and do you think it could extend time or reduce the spread of someone who is infected? Dunno just a wild theory
You can get rock cancer clumps from your body in oripathy right? If that crystlization like, touches against another person and causes a wound, that would give you oripathy right?
yes, being wounded by any originium crystal will lead to infection via the small breaks and splinters that is how operator Ebenholz got infected in the Lingering Echoes event, very sad event however the originium he got wounded by was large and by a near-death person
Not any Originium crystal will automatically lead to infection. Originium should be in an "active" state to do so. If you accidentally got a little cut by a cristal that grows on an another person body - you probably will not get Infected.
i mean... bro can just cough near me and i caught oripathy, i'd rather be racist jk but seriously, the "containment" procedure isn't wrong, it's the overly hating and complete separation that are "wrong". i'm guessing that the separation of living area was initiated because they want to contain the infected at first but things escalated into something more intense which led to now. who knows.
I have a theory that oripathy is a living thing and not just a rock. Originium spreads throughout terra, I do think oripathy feeds on living things, Oripathy can also manipulate minds like example :lappland, although there's alot of infected that also has this condition although different effect. Oripathy and originium reminds me of fungus, they spread out through airborne, manipulates victim's mind and feeds on its victim. And alot more stuff going around within Frostnova and Patriot. I am still improvinh this theory, because there's also things that disagree with aspect of my theory
Oripathy doesn't matter. NPCs can die left and right to Oripathy and suffer tangible effects of overusing Originium Arts, however, this doesn't apply to most, if any, playable Operator. There are a multitude of characters that show that: 1 - Eyja Alter. Doesn't need much explanation. Established Oripathy symptom are thrown out of the window. 2 - Talulah - Clearly overuses her Arts, yet not even a crystal is visible on her skin, nor any symptom, even after the mini-timeskip. 3 - Kal'tsit - best example, perhaps. Living thousands of years while Infected: no symptoms shown in story to date. 4 - Gavial Alter - she's by and large stronger than a majority of Operators, even after living with untreated Oripathy for years. Her summer cinematic literally invalidates her files: her files say 'she's gotten weaker', while in the summer cinematic she's stronger than any Durin. 5 - Surtr - god knows how long she lives - her sword magically suppresses Oripathy for plot convenience. Those examples show a clear double standard when it comes to playable Operators and the portrayal of Oripathy.
I getcha, but from what I have heard Ejya was on her death bed in her alt event. Tal; Clothes can hide how bad it has gotten or it's mainly spreading internal.) Kal (read her module bro) might be in a symbiotic relationship with it (in CH7 she mentioned that Patriot was entering a symbiotic relationship with his.) Also its implied she isn't fully human (surprise I know) (source Schwar's event and W"s event). Summer cinematics are canon? What about Specter alts? She got her new clothes from R.I. not a mirror (source from the event). Gods (Sui siblings for ex.) seem to be immune for oripathy, so is it really a stretch to say that pieces of them can suppress it? "Those examples show a clear double standard when it comes to playable Operators and the portrayal of Oripathy." I hear ya, but sorta.
@@zerogalaxy2735 I will change my opinion if an actual playable Operator dies from Oripathy in the future. Else, the longer the story goes, the less threatening Oripathy will become.
@@zerogalaxy2735 Also, if Gods are immune to Oripathy, from a world-building standpoint, you'd expect RI to do a whole lot of research about them to find out why that is. A weapon like Surtr's sword would be immediately confiscated for the greater good, especially considering that Rhodes Island isn't exactly fully moral.
@@thecolorgreen9022 I think kal would have prevent that because in skadi’s profile warfarin was planning to get a blood sample from her cause she couldn’t dissect her and kal stopped her from getting one and fined warfarin one month of her salary and I agree with all that you said and also I noticed that oripathy changes who it infects because in bubble’s profile she got infected because she didn’t clean her wound in time so it’s also inconsistent as well
Another thing why terrans hate infected is reminder. May i too?.. You are happy Lungmen citizen, ordinary life, but sometimes you see those, in slums, who suffer from constant pain.
Cheers!

Or Doctor's blood
Just a wild theory, but do you think they have dialysis in Terra? If so would that be able to filter out a large portion of the base originium in non infected operators and do you think it could extend time or reduce the spread of someone who is infected?
Dunno just a wild theory
Filter Originium particles out of the blood? But if they even smaller than blood cells?
This actually really SLAPS
You can get rock cancer clumps from your body in oripathy right? If that crystlization like, touches against another person and causes a wound, that would give you oripathy right?
yes, being wounded by any originium crystal will lead to infection via the small breaks and splinters
that is how operator Ebenholz got infected in the Lingering Echoes event, very sad event however the originium he got wounded by was large and by a near-death person
Not any Originium crystal will automatically lead to infection.
Originium should be in an "active" state to do so.
If you accidentally got a little cut by a cristal that grows on an another person body - you probably will not get Infected.
i mean... bro can just cough near me and i caught oripathy, i'd rather be racist
jk
but seriously, the "containment" procedure isn't wrong, it's the overly hating and complete separation that are "wrong". i'm guessing that the separation of living area was initiated because they want to contain the infected at first but things escalated into something more intense which led to now. who knows.
You NEED to mention eijaffyalla and how heartbreaking it's to see her lose hearing and sight
lets say you get it on your arm if you cut it are you infected anymore?
Probably will not work.
Probably since it would need time to settle and spread.
'Crystallization', that's a song to me
when you realize that the majority of the playable characters are terminally ill
Originuim and Crack are very similar when you think about it, they both give you magical powers in exchange for your life span
i cant imagine how hard it would be the actually have oripathy if you only just think about the pain already
1 more fact about each arknights operator part three? :)
New lore let's go!
Oripathy doesn't matter. NPCs can die left and right to Oripathy and suffer tangible effects of overusing Originium Arts, however, this doesn't apply to most, if any, playable Operator. There are a multitude of characters that show that:
1 - Eyja Alter.
Tal; Clothes can hide how bad it has gotten or it's mainly spreading internal.)
Kal (read her module bro) might be in a symbiotic relationship with it (in CH7 she mentioned that Patriot was entering a symbiotic relationship with his.)
Also its implied she isn't fully human (surprise I know) (source Schwar's event and W"s event).
Summer cinematics are canon? What about Specter alts? She got her new clothes from R.I. not a mirror (source from the event).
Gods (Sui siblings for ex.) seem to be immune for oripathy, so is it really a stretch to say that pieces of them can suppress it?
"Those examples show a clear double standard when it comes to playable Operators and the portrayal of Oripathy."
I hear ya, but sorta.
@@zerogalaxy2735 I will change my opinion if an actual playable Operator dies from Oripathy in the future. Else, the longer the story goes, the less threatening Oripathy will become.
@@thecolorgreen9022 Fully agree with ya lad.
@@thecolorgreen9022 I think kal would have prevent that because in skadi’s profile warfarin was planning to get a blood sample from her cause she couldn’t dissect her and kal stopped her from getting one and fined warfarin one month of her salary and I agree with all that you said and also I noticed that oripathy changes who it infects because in bubble’s profile she got infected because she didn’t clean her wound in time so it’s also inconsistent as well
The process of crystallizations are always disturbing to witness, I can't deny that....

I've also heard somewhere that originium was artificially created? Like it's revealed somewhere in CN events. I might be wrong tho.
thanks for the rocks dad
Another thing why terrans hate infected is reminder. May i too?.. You are happy Lungmen citizen, ordinary life, but sometimes you see those, in slums, who suffer from constant pain. In fact, you feel sorry for them, but even if there is a no chance that you may be there, among them, there is fear "what if". And if there a TINY chance become among them? Oh, this pity for infected is fast becoming at least "get them away".
"First Green murder rock, now is black murder rock"

Whole Rhodes Island : Kane Lives ! Peace through Power
EP :23 End
Don't forget that some people in Leithania during the Witch King's era infects themselves so they can be of use to the Witch King.
TFW the game gives you so many incredible infected waifus, but if they do have children they're more than likely to be born with this horrible disease, is the worst. D:
Hey.
*At least it wasn't tiberium.* One scratch from that curse rock and you will become crystal in seconds.;)
Infected Dude be like: "Oriopathy can't be spread through interacting with infected! Love me pwese 🥺"
Then, when see other infected: "ew! begone, you, pesant!"
Lol, such phantasy could never heppen irl.... yeah... definitely...
uuuugh no, oripathy doesnt grant you any powers on its own... the originium is your organism cant act as a fuel for arts but if you can use it you could also use any standard tools instead.
Originium is the MSG of Arknights
sheesh
Can oripathy transmit trough body fluid?
Through blood - almost certainly.
5 days late AND wrong content. I might cry you know?
Whar...
I thought infected people would make perfecty healthy children?
How? Originium spreads through body via bloodstream, and blood systems of mother and child are directly connected to each other.
oh this rock shit gets serious im out
First
Not first ... sad
oriphaty is cringe
it is very cringe, don't get oripathy or you'll become cringe
