The fact that this 47 minute video is the more condensed and short explanation of the world of Arknights shows that how big and complex the lore and worldbuilding has gotten over the years.

If you go back and watch earliest game's trailers carefully you may notice that we had already a very diverse group of characters at the start, from all different places.
As an example - the Kjerag trailer that shows Degenbraker and Gnosis, despite the fact that we had Break the Ice event only 2+ years after release.
Arknights world did not just grow up bigger over the years, it is *already was huge* at the *very beginning*
At least, conceptually. Isn't it a great magnificent universe to dive into?

we've just been drip fed all of this throught the story chapters and events, and a majority of people cannot comprehend the scope of context without seeing it first hand.
even from the base game at release, a massive world dealing with the effects of oripathy, how the infected get treated from country to country, city to city, and how the catastrophes required large cities to be build on mobile plates to move in time, which is all explained in said base game, should already have given you a idea of how large and complicated this world is.

Technically, there are approximately seven guns in Arknights that don't require arts, those being the guns of Team Rainbow after they were modified by Rhodes Island to fire ammunition comprised of crushed Originium powder and Keton.
When I heard originium catastrophies, it reminded me of my idea of magical natural disasters and how they affect society, its development, and both flora and fauna, and I always love the adition of a disease conected to the same power system in the story, it doesnt necessarily be the requirement of the power, but as an effect of either having heavy contact with it, overexerting yourself, or simply a disease that adapt to mana and use it in one way or another, it is to say, it is always interesting to see how magic, mana, energy sources, that arent of our own world affect the entire ecosystem specially if a society uses it. It makes the world feel genuine and familiar in a way where you can understand it personally, but it is different enough to be interested in it.

Just goes to show the absolutely insane amount of lore Arknights packed, and this is only barely scratching the surface.
You know, considering the comparisons between the two, I’m genuinely surprised we haven’t gotten a crossover with RWBY yet. Hell, the main music composers for RWBY even did an official song for Arknights.

I didn't realize how good the anime is for getting people into the story... now instead of saying "read the story, it starts slow and gets better" you just watch the anime then you're at the part where it gets better without that awkward first step

This is the reason why i keep playing arknights, the world building and just so good.
You know what would be really funny? Sometimes in history the only reason something didn't exist is that despite all the necessary resources to produce it being right there, nobody was able to come up with or rediscover the idea at that moment, what if it's the same case with gunpowder. Meaning that it could exist, but due to the hyper-fixation on originium, its benefits, and its faults, nobody thought about mixing some charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate for whatever reason, let alone nitrocellulose and nitroglycerin if those have even been invented and also ignored in favor of originium-based explosives for whatever reason.

Hey guys I want to start playing arknights. I want to know if I can access past side story events or I have to wait for rerun? I really want to read the story.
Hey there! Sorry if this reply is late, but yes, some events can be accessed from the get-go. For standard events, they will be permanently available after reruns. But there are some story-only events called Vignette that you can unlock by buying Information Fragments in red shop or event stores.
For beginners, I'd recommend you build a solid squad first and have at least 1 E2 so you can borrow other operators to carry you through the later stages since the difficulty spikes. Hope this helps!

Just to take note: This only covers the very basics of the world of Terra, the different nations, races, as well as the history of how Rhodes Island was formed. We have barely scratched the surface of what is going on in Terra (Note how not even Reunion is talked about).
This is like, the main of the mains. The overalls.
Stories in Arknights goes down from the World, to the Nations, to the Governments, to the societies, to the commuinity, all down to the minute individuals.
Even certain items have its lore.
Having a full on sitdown to read thru every lore may take weeks even!

I remember that when i first started playing the game, i thought that the animal-features were mutations caused by Oripathy. So that last clarification is nice.

36:47 pretty sure Emperor isn't actually a "human" although he is part of "humanity", he is more like a "talking animal" (weird when compared to Rat King not being the same case), similar to Eunectes's bird friend they're Feraeri.
But I guess that would be more advanced part of lore and spoiler territory (which clearly isn't the point of this introduction video) as we start talking about immortal beings and "deities".
It makes sense that the inhabitants of "Terra" are much stronger than an ordinary human being (As shown in the Rainbow Six event), because if they weren't, they would have been extinct a long time ago.
No wonder why the sarkas are so buff.

@@carlosgracia2147 almost literally. A guy from our world unloaded a heavy machine gun into mercenaries of terra. And it was only akin to stoning them. Still hurts. But not the absolute genocide we'd expect a heavy machine gun to do. And ACTUAL soldiers only go up from there.

With those demons, in my opinion the most dangerous are the Seaborn because of 2 main things. First is the fact that it is essentially a Hivemind so they have the great way of coordination and the second one is their ability to adapt and evolve (just like the Zerg and Tyranids in Starcraft and Warhammer 40k universes).
plus the nations that are holding them back are on the verge of collapse, compared to the Fire Demon at Sargon that doesn't seem to do anything threatening to Sargon (yet?), and the ongoing battle between Northern Demon against Ursus & Sami which seems going pretty well for now since Ursus at least, still have time & resources to deal with the infected, it may sounds bad but the fact that they have the time to do that meaning at least they're not in a losing battle against the Demon
This is the exact video I wanted for years. I hope new lore fans appreciate what a useful resource this will be going ahead. You have genuinely made one of the best and easily accessible jumping off points for basically any corner of the lore people may find interesting, and will massively help people form a fuller picture much faster than it took me slowly piecing things together on my own. massive props

I personally bounced off the game a few times before I really got into it, so here's hoping you have an easier time getting into it than I did, because once you _get_ the gameplay and stop being annoyed by the base, the game has a lot to offer you from both the story and gameplay perspective. Also hot limited noisy dragon man is coming in a couple days, so I wish you luck on that front, he seems like he'd be a great op to get early on

The grinding in Arknights repeatedly had me drop the game, but then i would see your expansive lore videos and i'm reminded just how detailed, intricate, and in-depth AK's lore is, and i just can't help but get back into the game if even just for the stories in it. I especially loved the stories set in kazimierz and kjerag, as well as those of the abyssal hunters. it's INSANE how AK's writers manage to put in this much detail and for all of it to feel so interwoven and alive, and not collapse on itself despite how some elements like, say, how the Originium Arts system feels like anything goes sometimes. Thanks for the long video btw, u are the goat for us AK lore fans
same man, imho I want to explore terra as an rpg type of game not just through text and tower defense puzzles. I love the game still but I still feel its a grindfest sometimes. I hope they will eventually make like a hack and slash rpg game for Arknights, I think theres one Endfield, but its not in Terra tho

I literally started 3 days ago and got instantly invested into this game.
Gosh is this game so good. I got into it because of the music, just like I got into Genshin because of its music.
And Arknights lore is interesting in all honesty. I’m still early in the game so nothing huge has happened yet, but from what I’ve seen it does get pretty *heavy* on stuff at points so I’ll try to be prepared for that.

One thing I don't get. How someone develop unique arts? Like Ceobe can "hear" weapons, all of the Nearls have same arts and in both of the above cases, they don't use arts units.

I love trying to draw parallels between which Arknights nations are inspired by which real world countries/areas.
little correction: the emperor (the penguin seen in the video when talking about human races) is not considered human. He is another type of being, a "great beast", a term I'm not sure if it has come to en yet. "great beasts" are said to be immortal. Other examples are the parrot in the Great Chief returns event, the Duck Lord you see in rougelike, and the lions in Seige's backstory.
That's not the point, "humanity" in Arknights is different from "humanity" in the real world, so technically Emperor can consider himself a part of humanity, even though there are no humans in the world of Arknights.

This is actually a good video to watch to have a recap of the events and lore of Arknights, nice work Qaiser.
Though if I have to guess these are some questions that would be left within some or probably many Dokutah's heads:
* Why does the Dokutah wear a helmet?
* Why do some people have 4 ears?
* Are furries/scalies and kemonomimis (catgirls and dog-girls, and of the like) seperate beings?
* Who is kataok-
As i know why the doctor wears the helmet and everything is because being frozen for years wasn't good for their health and needs the whole outfit to help them also it was supplied by their personal doctor, kal'tsit
1. The Dokutah's entire get-up is pretty much his life support since they just came out from multiple years of comatose.
2. We have no idea. There are theories regarding this topic but there's not enough information to come to a concrete conclusion.
3. They are all categorised as human, they are just under different races. Think of it something like in our world we have different races (black, white, etc)
4. An artist who is very well known for their cursed Exusiai art.

I've delt with covid, flue, chicken pox, a staph infection, and a allergic reaction that had me break out in hives, and I managed to ignore half of it, If I do something stupid and I end up having oripathy ill be fine. It's just a extended cold.
Amazing video, though I knew everything that was presented here (cuz I've been playing since global release), it's really good to help other players get interested in the world of Arknights, and maybe even have more Lore readers (because the ratio between Lore Readers vs Lore Skippers is atrocious lmao)
