I just wanted to say a big thank you so much for all of the time and effort you put into your recipes and your cooking. I really appreciate you sharing it. I eat double the amount of veggies since I started watching you and it has really helped my health ❤️👍🙏
I shop at our local fruit & vege store (plenty of these here in New Zealand although not necessarily organic) I support the small businesses over the appallingly greedy supermarkets who are making a fortune. That seitan looks amazing!! I am definitely going to make it, yummo!! 🌬
🌪 🌬🤷♀Home-made chips are the bees knees😊 (I often make my own chips, and always leave the skins on). Keep forgetting to say I *LOVE* your Vlogmas intro, Maddie. I would love to do weekly shops in our local, organic shops; in London we have 'Harvest' shops, but they are often quite pricey, so we'll pop in every now and again to pick up a couple of things...
💨 💨💨😂 love it😂 the seitan looks amazing. I too have simplified seitan. First time I made it years ago it took aaaaages but once you know you can completely omit the cooking first for hours in stock stage you realise it comes out just as good if not better!
I loveeee these video ❤ I find supermarkets episode super interesting, but with a medium income and organic-ethical being so close to my heart I relate so much to this one. I build my budget around whole organic food in order to afford it, and then I cook a lot to compensate (because I love it and I can also build my time around it). Anyway, thanks for making an episode for the budget organic team 💚 I wish everyone had access to 'good for our health' options
This was way more informative to me. I live in Kansas, USA - the absolute vegan metropolis of the world 🙄🤪. But, it got me thinking could I do better with buying more organic or more sustainable? Thanks for this!
I have shopped in a local greengrocers, the veg/fruit is sold by weight, 5 broccoli heads cost £8.00 pounds, needless to say I will not be going back, same broccoli in Asda next day 69p each.
Hi i used to watch you so much but my phone died .but i watched s video last night the person mentioned your name i knew i reckonised your name so now back to follow you .lovely food thst meat looks divine x
🎐Here is your fart Alex...haha!! Wow that really looks like meat. Have you always loved cooking or is is just since becoming vegan that fancy your interest?. Thanks for sharing with us.
That recipe looks soooo yummy ♥ BUT: The only two ingredients accounted for, regarding the weekly budget, were the ketchup and the potatoes. And spices, condiments, oil etc. are expensive nowdays, even if you buy them in bulk and/or at ALDI/LIDL or the like. I really wish you'd (at least roughly - perhaps track your expenses for pantry items for a few months and divide by the appropriate number?) add them in. It may come out about the same most times, idk, but to me it'd feel a lot more accurate and honest.
@@adrianjoe yeah, I noticed that one. But still, building (and maintaining!) that kind of a pantry doesn't come free of charge. I mean, I just did a rough all in (ingredients only, not including energy prices) estimate of what that recipe would cost per serving where I live and grocery prices are lower here than in the UK, though not super low. And it came out at about £ 2,90 - 3,15 a serving if you'd take the price payed for the potatoes, the seitan powder and a serving (not the whole bottle) of that ketchup and get all the other stuff at a budget store like ALDI or LIDL. Don't get me wrong, that's a good price for a delicious meal! But if I'd count in the cost for breakfast and lunch, plus maybe an occasional drink that isn't tap water (think tea/coffee once a day, maybe a glas of wine once a week), it'd ruin my budget. And that's not counting in the protein powder Maddy uses daily (I don't, but...) or supplements. I mean, I have a weekly budget of £ 30 a week for groceries, including top up stuff, drinks (which are never mentioned in these kinda videos even though she does have them, which, again, is fine, but its not an accurate picture of what she consumes) etc. Again, prices are a bit lower where I live and I do shop on a budget (read: ALDI/LIDL and the like for everything, stocking up on offer etc.) and I'm a good cook. I make my own veg stock from scraps and freeze it in small cubes so it's close to free of charge. And so on. And even though, it's a stretch every week. It'd might be better to do "budget meals" videos, counting in all the costs per serving.
Geez you don’t want much 😂 Maddie ALWAYS talks about condiments in every food shop video including this one. There is no way food is this cheap in Australia but do us Australians comment “it’s not honest” 🤦🏻♀️
That’s a huge ask. They’re doing vlogmas - filming, editing and uploading every day! I’m sure there are plenty of youtube videos out there on how to shop on a budget down to the penny, including pantry items etc. I think they’re doing a great job, and I’m enjoying vlogmas so much🎄
Again, I just love the glimpses of those quaint streets and shops! Thank you for that!!!

I love those salt. I live in Finland and luckily u can get them here in Helsinki. My favourite is garlic one and chili.
Totally agree about seitan recipes, this one looks so easy thank you ❤
if you're on a budget, you could make seitan with wheat flour and wash it basically :)
Interesting to see the items you got and a recipe from your book. Hope you are having a nice weekend both of you 💨

she talks about this at 2:08, so maybe a better request would be for a “pantry building on a budget”
