I have been watching your channel since i was 8 years old man, thank you for everything. Im 18 now and still love every video that you put out. You’re an inspiration
I can’t believe that not a single reviewer has mentioned the fact that if you want Dolby Atmos with TV shows (Apple TV+, Disney+, etc.) with over-ear headphones, this is the only “budget” option you’ve got. It’s the reason why I got a pair.
There are a few things about these headphones that I think go over a lot of the average consumers head. The main gripe being that these headphones are not necessarily meant for leisure music listening these are built for in-depth audio mixing. I believe that is why people feel like there is a lot of features missing from these at the price point because they are not geared towards working out or average consumers. As an audio engineer the lossless audio functionality is the main selling point on these (at least for me personally) and it blows my mind more emphasis wasn’t put on this feature as these are currently the only headphones from apple that can support lossless at-least until we see what this newest AirPods update brings. My main gripe with the OG Studio 3s is that as a person who wears glasses the Studio 3s gave me a massive headache after about 45 minutes to an hour of mixing and the max volume left more to be desired, I’m hoping these issues have either been eliminated all together with these new ear cups or at the very least significantly improved. My pair should arrive by 4AM tomorrow morning i just couldn’t pass up the black Friday deal for $170. If anybody would like me to come back and update this thread with my findings from an audio engineering perspective by all means let me know.
@@bruceleroy1187 well, quite frankly, these headphones disappointed me. I’ve been using beats for years and there’s no denying that they sound good on the surface but as far as comfortability and the EQ they missed the mark on these. I made it through about an hour of mixing before that pressure headache started to set in and somehow these are actually a tad bid quieter in volume compared to the Studio 3s which was a huge bummer. The lossless audio did not sound bad but was absolutely not what i expected to get out of a built in DAC in a $350 pair of headphones. There is 3 pre-set EQ settings when listening over USB C you can switch between and oddly enough to me the “Classic” beats EQ or whatever they want to call that was meant for music sounds flat and dull to me, my go to choice has actually been the Entertainment EQ which was meant for like Movies and Media. These things are a trip but if you don’t wear glasses and you can get them on sale i think they are worth it for an average consumer but at full price i couldn’t justify it by any means. The Noise Cancellation you get over wireless was actually fairly impressive but the passive mode was far from premium and i think the Airpods do a better job. I hate to do it but i think these will be returned this week Im just sleeping on it, hoped this helped.
I’m extremely curious yet worried it will get lost in my notifications. I just ordered a pair myself for these specific reasons so i’m glad someone else is too!
@@arnleevizcayno965 sadly these headphones are not ideal… they are tight around the head and contrary to my original comment the EQ on these are not good at all and if anything lacks a certain quality from the original studio 3s. For an average consumer these are subjectively good headphones and their noise cancelation (over bluetooth) is good! But for wired mixing and audio listening you don’t get those features. However for me personally as someone who wears glasses and does in depth mixing these headphones are not a great choice and i was really disappointed in them. If your really looking for good mixing headphones the Sennheiser HD 280 PROs still take the cake as far as live audio goes and they produce great mixes IMO but are pricey. When it comes to working on hip hop records i still like the mixes i get out of the OG Beats Studios despite some engineers having objections.
I work retail and i get excited when someone comes in wearing beats. Just nostalgic of the days where everybody had them and then well, apple bought them and put them on the back burner 😢
These are cool but honestly the Beats Solo Pro’s should’ve just never been discontinued. Those were really great headphones at the cost and the automatic on/off based on whether or not they’re folded was amazing. Was hoping that would be included on these. It’s a shame those came and went so quickly.
@@elliot245I’m honestly shocked I seriously don’t understand why they were discontinued so fast if anything they should have discontinued the solo 3s makes no sense
You are absolutely right. I think that, for Apple, the Beats Solo Pro were a kind of experiment by implementing so much technology in headband headphones, especially for the functionality of turning them on and off just by folding or unfolding them. His biggest red flags were the starting price, the elimination of the Jack port and the size of his earcups. Personally, I have never been bothered by the size or the earcups of the Solo models, I like them and I feel that they hold much better to my head. Regards 🫂

I bought these after using the Sony XM3’s until the band finally cracked. The first time I wore these on the bus I was shocked at how well they made the world go away. They brought my music to the forefront. I had never used Beats and I was worried about the “signature sound” being too much for me. I really love it. I got them for $100 off, and they feel like a steal.
I really love mine. 40 hours of battery life and the fact you can use them three different ways makes it so versatile. Bluetooth, USB C to USB C and USB C to 3.5 millimeter with an adaptor. Get them at 199 when they go on sale. 350 is a bit steep but jump when they are on sale. They are worth it.

I recently got these for Christmas after having my Beats Fit Pros for a while, and these sound just as good as the earbuds! I really love that you can use them as wired headphone, to conserve the battery.
Just picked up a pair for $199. I had the Studio3’s, and I ended up returning them because I just wasn’t impressed. These Studio Pros are a huge improvement from the Studio3’s. Definitely happy with them.
Big disappointment. Was hoping they would make a whole new design like the solo pros. Having owned the Studio 3s the biggest con was definitely the build quality, a lot of people snapped hinges/headbands.
I had the Studio 3s. Worked great for a year until the internal band right above the ear cuff started cracking like crazy. It seemed to be quite a problem that could never get fixed. I wonder if they fixed that since he was able to bend that like crazy.
I doubt it. I believe the cracking is a design flaw with these headphones. Knock it a lil against a wall and you’ll randomly see a crack start to come in afterwards. The earcups deteriorate in a year and you’d have to replace them every year. The only good thing about these headphones is the battery life and bass. Build quality is abysmal
@@michaelm3512 Then I must be an exception, as I have had my Beats Studio3 for 4 years now (I bought them for and shortly after my MacBook Pro 2019) and the earcups are like new. I haven’t had to replace them once….but I don’t use the Beats every day…:p
@johnnyboy5155 I had a similar thing w my beats studio³ where the headphone quality was good for like a year and then it started deteriorating. I like the jack, I use it while flying to enjoy movies on the IFE system.
Off topic but I need to know where Jud got that Pikachu t-shirt
What kind of ultra iWatch band is that. Looks cool.
About 4 and a half minutes in, when you come back after listening to the beats for a while, where in the world did you get that pikachu shirt? That's clean. I need to get one.
Good video though. I watched it after I bought the headphones, lol, but I still appreciate the information!
this video gives me so much nostalga unboxing beats i remember the days when u were unboxing the beats mixr and solos and doing sound leak with ur wife
I believe the reason some of those features are missing is because these are technically made for studio work
