ODG gang here.
I'd say its because I live in an area that is green for most of the year, and white the other part with small periods of BROWN.
But really I chose ODG because green is my favorite color. The part about matching the environment is just a happy little bonus.

And the new m17 pistol is bright tan so it can blend in with the desert environment we will be always, always fighting in . We will never fight in a forrest green environment apparently. They say the army always fights the last war. I guess they color/camouflage for the last war too.

Stag was selling airsoft raptor copies as their own.
I didnt know about this and I have one for my ghk and had to cut it down to make it work.

Some deep, primal rage inside of me is aggravated when I see weapons that are supposedly all one color have like 20 different shades of said color. From a purely aesthetic standpoint though OD Green is a superior color to FDE hands down. If you disagree you're wrong. Fight me!
