GBO2 GM [Gatheroad Type]: Gunkata GM goes hard!

- This video contains a recent match I had with the LV1 GM Gatheroad Type on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 300 cost raid with two decent melee weapons, solid shooting damage, nice mobility and a dodge roll. It suffers from many unfortunate weaknesses though such as low primary weapon damage, high primary weapon heat, slow downswing animations, single saber downswing animation that misses knocked over enemies, awfully low HP, stop to fire on rapid fire shot and low thrust. I really tried with this suit but this was the best match I could get. I played 10 times with this suit and this is the only time I got 100k damage or more. It is pretty fun to mess around with but very much a challenge to use at a stacked cost like 300. I hope that you enjoy watching!
Its primary weapon is two beam spray guns with 550x2 power, 4.5 seconds cooldown, 90% heat, 15 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap time, 250m range and 10%x2 stagger value. The damage, effective cooldown, range and stagger accumulation with this are all lower than even a hyper bazooka. Still you are gonna be forced to use this when trying to enter melee or to combo into ranged shooting.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 1750 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time and 70% combo modifier. This has pretty solid damage in two hits due to the combo modifier but the downswing feels pretty slow, and it often misses knocked over enemies. There is almost no leniency for doing a stun into downswing combo due to this speed, so you have to be fast to knock them over before they can roll.
Its first sub weapon is a head vulcan with 90 power, 20 ammo, 450 RPM, 12 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 150m range, 675 DPS and 6% stagger value. This is a pretty amazing vulcan for 300 cost apart from the very low ammo. It isn't really practical to stun with this alone because even missing 4 shots means you can't stun, so try to use it in combination with your rapid fire beam spray guns.
Its second sub weapon is rapid fire beam spray guns with 250x6 power, 10%x6 heat, 0.8 seconds cooldown, 19 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap, 300m range and 15%x6 stagger value. On paper this is amazing midrange DPS and stagger value for a 300 coster, but it needs to stop to fire which makes the suit very vulnerable. You need to maintain awareness while using this so you don't get caught out by enemy generals.
Its third sub weapon is dual beam sabers with 2000 power, 3.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time, 55%x2 side swing modifier and 140% downswing modifier. This has high power but can only swing once. It shares the wide sweeping downswing from the Unit 5 BST, so be careful of friendly fire. You will usually be using this after a single saber downswing.
The Gatheroad GM has 11000 HP and 10 in every resist. This HP is really awful, common 300 cost threats like Efreet or Aqua GM can pretty much kill you in one combo. Even other raids can do significant damage, so watch out for Zaku II (KG) or the Efreet (DS). Though the suit does have access to not only LV1 Maneuver Armor, but also LV1 Emergency Evasion. This is rare for a 300 cost raid but it still doesn't fix the fragility issues.
It also has 130 walk speed, 190 boost speed, 55 thrust and 66 turning speed. This is pretty damn good mobility for a 300 cost raid and it handles well, though the 55 thrust is a weakness considering the bad custom slots layout. You can't fit much thrust if you are also looking to fit any real amount of HP. Leg armor is out of the question.
Overall I would have to say that GM Gatheroad is pretty weak. Its damage output is pretty solid on paper, but it suffers from awkward animations and speed for melee along with stop to fire shooting. It has poor stun output which really makes it hard to initiate melee that often as well. This is really just one of those suits which is better on paper than it actually is in real games. For a midrange capable raid you would be much better off with GM Ground Type (MSV) or Zaku Flipper. For a melee capable raid you can't go wrong with Efreet (DS) or Z'Gok. I can't really recommend this suit in its current state, it might be a fit for you if you like two melee raids but it is really difficult to use right now. So I hope that they buff it in the future. Don't forget that this unit also fought and destroyed mobile armors and Devil Gundam multiple times...

I was astonished to see this thing getting added at all. Hopefully it gets some buffs eventually, because it would be a shame for an MS with so much unique flare to end up totally forgotten.
I think they intentionally made token pack suits underpowered. No token pack suit has ever been actually good on release, they have actually all been pretty bad. They might buff them later though.
It doesn't matter if it's bad or not. It's the GM with two guns. Who doesn't like dual wielding?

I love this suit even tho it’s literally made out of paper
I feel like more units could really use buffed vulcans, even if they don't quite hit this level of stun accumulation. Especially as you move into 400ish with suits like the Gundam, you'd expect a little bit of an easier stagger on MA suits. Not everything needs this, but vulcan power is a small change that can make suits more viable without drastic changes.
I would love for the Gundam to get vulcans like this, just with like 40 ammo and faster reload time. A lot of suits with limited loadouts would benefit, like Dijeh and Hyaku Shiki.

I think now it is. It is arguably the strongest 300 cost raid now. Very well rounded, can shoot or melee very well.
