    Question:
    What does the plates help activate on a squat when you step on them with front of your foot?
    I know that if you put it under your heels it will activate more quads but what does it activate when you put them under your toes?

    Hey Chris I was wondering with the bodyweight squats with the 10lb plate, are you having them perform that just as a progression of a regular bodyweight squat or is it more of a propioceptive progression for the squat?

    What do you mean by screwing your feet into the ground?

    • @msarek4100
      @msarek4100 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a cue for stabilization. With a flat foot, picture if a screw has been driven through the top of your foot into the ground. A way to try and "feel" it, is shift your ankle left/right and ground the ball of your foot into the ground. Then lock your ankle straight. There should as close to no movement in your feet/ankles/shins afterwards.

    • @ballinboxer3676
      @ballinboxer3676 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's TJ Leaf. If you've seen him play, you'd know that what he needs the most is more balance. After that, then he can start gaining more muscle.

    • @overtimeathletes
      @overtimeathletes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      First 2 weeks are Adaptation phase. This is my first time working with TJ so I need to set the intention of why and what we are trying to accomplish by performing each movement.

    • @douglasbeattie906
      @douglasbeattie906 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The taller u are the bigger ur levers are. Meaning u need to produce more force using the same weight. This is why its easier for shorter people to benchpress.

    • @seanflaherty1225
      @seanflaherty1225 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@douglasbeattie906 must powerlifting records are not set by 5 5 guys. They're over 6 feet guys

    • @douglasbeattie906

      Sean Flaherty TJ leaf isnt a powerlifter.

    • @douglasbeattie906
      @douglasbeattie906 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sean Flaherty The reason taller people win in powerlifting is because once they have been lifting for many years they fill out their long levers with more muscle than is possible for shorter guys. But for most basketball players the taller guys will be weaker unless they have focused a lot on weight training with TJ has obviously not.
