- I had a lot of footage from filming the Basic Combat Training Pick-up at Fort Benning, GA. This is was Infantry OSUT that is 22 weeks long! I've been editing a video for the Army but I have so much footage that I didn't end up using and I didn't want it to go to waste! I hope you all enjoy it!

I liked the Army Dress Greens best, that's what we were issued in 2007 shortly before they were phased out. ASU's were pretty cool too, except for not having unit patches on them. Glad they brought the patches back on these new uniforms.
I like these better.
I don't care for the pink and greens.
I did OSUT back in 2012 and it was much different. 16 weeks and more of a yelly- screamy- hazy atmosphere. Didn't actually learn much it was more of a gut check.
I see no issues with this new style, especially when coupled with the new longer duration. More professional and instructional. Thats how all our allies have been doing it for decades, and its worked well.

If you want Care Bears and ice cream go to ft Jackson sweetheart. This is combat arms COMBAT ARMS. If a war is going to kick off 90% of ft benning trainees will be going or on the way when they get to their unit.

For those aspiring to join the military- Basic Training is not hard at all. I went through Basic Training in phenomenal shape, but there were kids in my platoon/company who I swear never did a pushup in their life. I went to Fort Benning, Eco 2/54.
By the end of the first week, you can tell the Drills start to calm down. The first 72 are the most tedious. The Forge isn't bad at all. We went through it wet and sandy.
Seriously- Basic is easy as hell. You don't forget your Drills. They're there to help you. There's a lot of downtime tbh. A couple times the Drills will come in and they will take their Campaign Hat off and talk to you and ask questions.
You seriously don't forget them. Even the ones who were voluntold... Lol
Edit: Honestly the worst part of BCT/OSUT was the shitbags. They get your platoon smoked. Unnecessary BS that you have to deal with. You'll always get one. Remember., OSUT/BCT ends. AIT portion of OSUT was more fun tbh.
But what's more fun is actually being apart of your unit and doing cool shit. Lmao.

That new 100 yard thing doesn't seem as bad as the old 16 week cycle. But damn the feelings. Video brought back that uncertainty and excitement I had at our own first formation

Hmm, I’ve almost seen all the 100 yards and I’m about to see the rest, and I can say this one has had to be the one of the best I’ve seen…unless you can say you went to each BCT and seen it yourself as well?
