I would rather play FF14 on mobile than Xbox. I wanted a reason to get off FF14 on Xbox. And dont want to commit to buying a PC just for FF14. This would be right up my alley. Id give it a shot. And I dont even like mobile gaming.
I think the combat will be greatly simplified, with jobs having a kit sized closer to what we have in PvP. Just a few buttons with basic skills that convey the unique "theme" of each job. I think that's the approach this game will take with pretty much all the features, like story, quests, dungeons, crafting/gathering, gold saucer, etc. It's not something that will try to exactly duplicate the FFXIV main game, or even interact with it. It's like, when they made that other FFVII remake game on mobile.
No. Even if it is good (and I want it to be good, cause why not), I have no interest in a mobile of the game I can already play on PC. Also, consider that while FF14 is SEs biggest game (around 47.3 billion yen in FY2024), their games for Smart Devices/PC Browsers was 101.5 billion yen in the same year, however the operating income is different, reportedly, In FY 2021 from the segment revenue vs operating income posted by KusanagiKay, "SE earns and spends more money on mobile games and the income after expenses is about equal in absolute numbers for both mobile and MMO. This effectively means that SE earns more dollars per dollar spent on MMOs than on mobile games." Extract from that information what you will.
@@I.Odnamra Consider re-reading what I wrote, as you clearly failed at reading comprehension. The question was "Are you excited for it", which I answered No. I hope it is good, for those interested, there is no reason to wish for its failure, after all. However, SE has a bad mobile history with cash grabs, so empirical evidence, not feelings, suggest the odds aren't great; but regardless its not my cup of tea. Consider reading the OP before responding without context.
Considering the absolute state of the game this comes off like a slap in the face ngl, and to think they cancelled ffxi mobile and moved forward with a story they just got done telling.
"they cancelled ffxi" nexon put them in 5 years development hell and then gave up so blame them, got nothing to do with this game you realized licensing are SE got paid for letting Lightspeed studio develop their game as mobile ver right? "moved forward with a story they just got done telling." same case if FFXI follow through, tf you talking about?
It’s a wholly different development studio, even a different one from the FFXI Mobile team. It shouldn’t have any major effect on the main game’s progress.
Nexon fault... they always want very quick profit and more unscruplous than tencent at many parts. And when they see they can't get quick profit they canceled

Why simplify the game on mobile when you can already play the entire game on mobile via the PS Remote play app?

@@ventusvero4484 then it doesnt matter. You have it on PC. Whats the deal? Nothing is being taken. Only added.
i'm morbidly curious. i haven't seen a game on mobile i really liked. but if it works for a new audience cool.
@@Defixio. it could work. I dont even like mobile gaming but for FF14 I would give it a shot. Only people upset are the gatekeepers.
