My teenage years just reemerged.
49 years old and Hip Hop has been in my DNA since 83.
Peace out from Denmark.
Old School da Best School!!!!! Respect to all true school BBoys and BGirls... Coast to Coast!
Wicked times. Loved them days and you know what it was absolutely FREE ! Costs nothing to dance. I was absolutely crap at breaking still dream at 47 that I could one day just auto into a windmill . Was a good popper though if I must say so myself 😄
R.I.P Buck 4. you turtles will always be an inspiration
1980 s was just the best of old skool, miss those days
Me too Beth! Miss those good ol' days, rolling out the lino next to the skool tuck shop and having a good old up-rock with the rival breakers during breaktime!!! Always a good crowd. Wish we had smartphones to record it back then!!!
👍👌xx
Tuck shop, not heard that for years..I know they were the best, would have been brill with smartphones, Getting old now,44 scary
Beth Mcwilliams yeah they were and still are the best. I had parachute pants in every color lol. like I said in a different post that I hate the world we live in compared to the 70's on up. I even remember settling problems just by a "dance off" lol. I'd give anything to go back...
patrick mcglone Yeah I would give anything to go bk.too, definitely a better world bk then ,I used to come home fro skool and put my adidas colorado on and track botts and have a dance of on the green just the best
Beth Mcwilliams not mention that no matter where you looked, you could always find cardboard to dance on. I preferred cardboard myself. hey Beth remember talking to your friends sitting next to you? I do. nowadays the kids just text each other...
Holy shit, was breakingdancing music a lot better back in the days
the clothes , the music the style , much better than now ..
Truth..
you right
hard to believe this was how we settled some arguments back in the day. i could watch this video all day long. on Hulu, there's a movie called " breakin on the One." It's how Breaking got started. I've watched it 7x already 😊
Breakin, Breakin2, BeatStreet, Bodymoves, The Pilot, WildStyle, and the Freshest Kids.....miss those times
This is how you settled street beef , back in the day😂
Hell yeah! salute to the old skool b-boys & girls
Salute!
Yup once a bboy & bgirls always a bboy & bgirls it's in the blood I don't know if I can still bust a move like when I was younger but the cats nowadays they came out with whole new level of breakin I know for sure if I tried to attempt any of those moves I'll probably dislocate something but I'm still a bboy .from MrJONES BBOY4LIFE
2:32 That dude said f*ck a wheel chair, hold my beer. 😀

Don't know if you know but that B'boyer was paralised from the hips down. Danced on crutches but all in all I remember having nothing but respect for him back in the day. Point of note; there are a few videos of him on here gettin busy.
DIZZYGIT yea i know...mad props to him
If you wanna see top windmills and no handed windmills from back in the day, go check out Crazy Legs from Rock Steady Crew...just pure clean sweeps.

It's linoleum, usually used for kitchen and bathroom floors, we used it back in the day.
I'm very lucky to be born on 5/4/1978
Because 70's & 80's was the best years
As told by my parents & YES 70's & 80's is the BEST YEARS, Thank you so much
To upload this video clip, it remind me of my
Brother went we both trying to do breakdance at our home, now we both are married with our own child. Sweet memories
well, you was pretty much still just a BABY in the 80's, lol
because if you was born in 1978, that means you was only 6 YEARS OLD when BEAT STREET movie came out in 1984, LOL LOL
So you really couldnt do too much in 1984 at 6 YEARS OLD,
You was still playing with ARMY MEN and Cabbage Patch Dolls at age 6 in 1984,
LMAO ...........
If anybody knows or has information about a contest that I was a part of, my crew the chief lockers, battled the New york city breakers at the stardust ballroom in the Northeast boogie down bronx in the 80s. NYC breakers came in 1st place, my crew came in second. I would love too see that video and to show my kids. I never forgot that day, it was an overwhelming experience.... please get at me. I would greatly appreciate it..
These are the world's best old-school break dancers at that time 💪
Damn!!! Thank you SO much for posting this. This takes me back. If you missed the '80s...
I still have a lot of old school tapes of hip hop music from the 80's till this day 2015 I can still play them. .most are mix music .have all the good ones.
Great to see manchesters broken glass with patrick booth and danny price back in the day.
Did you eve watch electrorock with broken glass live from the hippodrome London circa 83.
Those were the good days. No violence, just dancing. There was some trash talking, but everybody respected everybody!
I was there when it all started! Pure excitement !!
You were there in the BRONX NEWYORK CITY in 1974 ???
Ah so many memories. In those days cardboard and linoleum were our weapons of choice and we couldn’t conceal them. I remember walking down the street with huge pieces and tape and a boom box ready to assemble and battle
this video is gold....!!!
@BboyTocha i was at school when bboying came out in 83 and went huge in 84 worldwide - thanks to movies like beatstreet!. it was everywhere and i heard stories about bboy crews in pakistan, israel, australia, everywhere!. i saw crews in what was the old yugoslavia. that was the great thing about bboying - it united the races. in my area the crews had pakistanis, chinese, blacks, whites and other races all together. after bboying died down so did the unity. sad. best days of my life!
Yep, It kicked off in Adelaide, South Australia in 84, where I had a crew that did a lot of shows for 2 years. Every major city had crews, and they were mostly doing it for the fun and socializing. A few punks thought they were doing it for 'turf', but no Bboy crew had come from a street gang in Australia. We learned it from the movies and television, and heavy gangs were not dancing. For most of us it was good times, throwing down and learning from each other. It was glorious.
New York’s Breakdancing blows away Cali and the rest of the country!
The best era of breakdancin is the 80s facts yes i start dancin in 1980yes i was one of the best in the bronx my name is cujo the original one little Alex partner from the Bronx before he got down with the New York City breakers facts we practice all the time in his house mothers house when he used to live in fordam in the Bronx facts anyway we was the best in the Bronx beside the r.s.c. and the n.y.c.b. yes we grew up with both of the crews yes the best era of breakdance i truly do miss it im 55now to old to get down but still could give a little something ok.,
Thanks for the good years..
this is truly the best can't believe time has gone by so fast
there's a huge breakin movement and it's international.... & it has evolved Tina whole new level...
This vid has given me incredible insight on the history of Bboying. Totally dope and to think just how hard it was to even think of those power moves. Training them is hard enough, but thinking of new power. Awesome!
amazing music reminds me still of all the bruises trying to put all the moves 2gether breakin was my life when i was younger great times
damn these ol' scool moves were fresh!!
Nobody lost a shoe.Fire.I remember occasionally a suede Puma or Shell toe Adida would go flying!Memories. Thanks again TH-cam.

Great times, great music and so much creativity made out of nothing and from nothing yet it influenced a youth movement that we still see worldwide over 30 years after it spread out of its birthplace that was the Bronx in New York

Storm is a beast!
I almost miss break dancing being this simple.
all i know is the first one 5.11 is a decorated version of kool chip and chuck chillouts 'i'm large' and the 5.57 ones doing my head in cos i so know it, i'm sure its a School of Hardnocks tune, i can hear the rhyme flow over it, i'll dig out a few old tapes and try to find it
Lightening rod. Sport.
lol at 0:28, this whole time i thought it was rivers crew that made those windbreakers look so fresh
plain ad simple, 80S the best clothes, best music, and times, everting is plastic now.
i still listen to 'the breaks' on a daily basis...that and early electro...cybotron,neucleus..pisses on most of the modern hiphop

Y'know... I usually notice when something is hidden racism... like even before people my color were hearing the conversation about what's really going on with banning black hairstyles, I saw what was going on there. Yet it still took till halfway watching this video that I remembered and realized what was going on with some shit when I was a kid.
I was in late grade school and Jr. High when break dancing reached a point of popularity that even kids in white suburbs were starting to do it.... and they banned it at school dances saying that it was too dangerous. Didn't think twice about it at the time, but it occurs to me now that they were letting kids swing dance, do cheer stunts, and do gymnastics moves.
real hip hop
true school 😍
us the Puerto Rican yes contribute to hiphop yes we did we never invented hiphop our black brothers did yes all facts no capping what an era world wide know...
This is old school ,but there is some new also mixed in,and as far as I am concerned Electro rock clips are not realy Old Old school but about 5 years or so later, and there are are a couple close to 15 years later. But as for style, yes old school. No 7 min top rock with skate board freezes like today.
It's a fuckn battle yeah boy break
Thank for posting this!!!
Carmen I like your link. The good old days

So straight forward
What a Great Video,
Espectacular los Bboy de los años 80.y 90 eran mejores porque tenian Estilos Propio y variedad de Pasos, en.cambio los Negros que bailan en Nueva York , no tienen tanta Variedad
Amazing video.
only if I was born in that era....:(
