@@GregorOutdoors I agree with you, plus the air is very clean there. While fishing on the lower Owen’s and looking up at Mammoth it felt like being in a postcard. I hope you do get back there. The natural trout that I ate there were like salmon. The flesh was orange and red and tasted so good.
I've fished those canals for decades. Caught lots of nice browns in them. Have you been to the Owens River south of Bishop since the big fire? No trees left. It's weird...
Thanks Brother. I love Owens Valley and Owens River so much, I love seeing others respecting and enjoying it as well! Thanks! MAGA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸TRUMP2024🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah I thought that after watching the video again while editing but no point in cutting it out. I found the canals using OnX maps I couldn’t tell you the road names off the top of my head. I was looking around the bishop area last fall and placed markers while scouting for ducks etc and then just copied the long/lat and put into my gps
@@GregorOutdoors I was.curious if it was private property or public. I've seen other videos.of this exact spot. Just like to.find quick spots along the 395. My kids don't do well.on long drives. So I stop.often to make a.few.casts.
@@tomhansen8357 everything I hunt/fish is public for the most part. Unless it’s waterfowl season and we get a refuge reservation which is rare. I use OnX and GoHunt map apps to find everything!!
I spent a week fishing on the lower Owen’s river and tributaries of mammoth lakes in the 80s. That was the best times of my life
I need to get back up there I love it! There has not been many places I’ve ever been that compare.

@@GregorOutdoors Same here.
The second fish you caught was a brown trout, not a rainbow.
Watch out for ticks!!
The struggles of fishing . I'm glad I'm not the only one
Smallmouth are not unheard of, NEVER seen or heard of Largemouth, too cold, maybe in a deeper pond somewhere...
I was definitely catching largemouth so 🤷🏼♂️

When it hits 40 in Michigan in March or April people start rolling there windows down and driving 👍✌️
🤣 So Cal where I live at in the desert routinely hits 90-100 and it’s generally 110* in the summer months
@@GregorOutdoors my god it was 80 here today and I was dying lol
80 is a nice cool day here for us 😂

How do you access those canals? I could see HWY 395 in the background
