Yeah compared to opening day there were a lot less birds. I think with the north wind last week and the push of cold air they moved out. We’ll see what this moon phase does the next couple days.

@ it’s gonna be sporty haha. I was out yesterday and did pretty good, but it was a grind. Pretty much nothing until the wind picked up

Hard to tell man without looking at the current reports. I don’t know anyone who’s hunted it recently and the Kern refuge doesn’t report their percentages like other refuges for some reason. I would go the day or night before to check the area to be honest.

Thanks for your comment Alex I appreciate your comment. But just so you’re aware, #1 never mention where I am & #2 I try to keep key features to areas at a minimum. As other comments have stated incorrectly, “this area has 3x as many people as it used to”. That is false, I have hunted 2 weekends in a row off camera with 0 other hunters in that area on consecutive days. Again it is public land 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@krisp1375 have you put a hen pintail and a hen gadwall next to each other? Extremely similar, especially hard to tell the difference on the fly. And hen pintail fly with any other species of duck as well.

Actually it is a bull sprig and no it is not hard to tell the a hen gadwall from a hen sprig… hen gads have a orange bill and white belly hen spring are not white on the belly! And also it is not hard to tell the difference in flight shaped different and you better know which is which before you pull the trigger since you can only kill one pintail…

The 120 is a 12ft kayak so I would assume. It’s meant to fit the Ascend H12 and 12T if I’m not mistaken. But 🤷🏼‍♂️

I hate it but I zip tied it in the front and in the back to tighten everything up. It’s not the greatest but it serves its purpose. Get it where it’s snug for you and just zip tie! Good luck

@@GregorOutdoors I agree with you, plus the air is very clean there. While fishing on the lower Owen’s and looking up at Mammoth it felt like being in a postcard. I hope you do get back there. The natural trout that I ate there were like salmon. The flesh was orange and red and tasted so good.
