What I love about The Newfangled Four is that they are really catering to the newer generation of barbershoppers. Their humor is that of the next generation and a lot of the songs that they do are for a newer audience. Not to mention that the NF4's humor is a bit odd, which matches the new humor and that they're ridiculously talented.
I just want a song that's centered on Joey, Jake, and Ryan 😂
Yes they make barbershop content current with po culture of today's youth. If anything, I am now a fan of NF4 and barbershop!

I know I never would of watched any barbershop until their all star popped up in recommended, now I’ve been watching a bunch of all the quartets.

1:27 Joey's enthusiasm killed me haha :) Loved that one they're really talented, they can mix amazing jokes in their songs and they also can be very sentimental (a cottage to sell was so beautiful). I'm happy I could hear such an amazing quartet thanks to their videos.
I really like this canon they’ve created where they can spell “Niebrugge” but not pronounce it, and at the same time they can’t spell Jasjxt7on and also can’t pronounce it.
I've been hooked to NF4 these past few days. I rewatch their performances every night. It's really sad Ryan is leaving the group... :'(

It feels that way, but it actually is another compliment. If someone is easy to bolster, that means they have a lot going for them so it's easy to come up with good things to say about them.

There is a chord in this song at 6:12 that is absolutely astounding. The chord is a Cm7#5... Fantastic placement and resolve.
Isn't it an A(add9)/C# as it would fonction as a modal interchange from the parallel key of C#minor?
@@ashton2605 yes, that name for the chord would be better in context of the rest of the song. I was just naming the chord from the lowest note which was a C. The chords are identical in notes but yes yours would be more correct in context.

this group is basically when theater kids get really into barbershop
They might have not been the best group vocally, but they certainly were the most original, clever, and hilarious group. This was my favorite performance in the whole competition.
