Now *this* is storytelling. The collective horror at 19 bottles of beer when the bari's gotten his hands on the calculator. Superb.
The cord they sung for that part was genius.
@@Yagirlnyesha . SQRT 81 - -9
Whoever is the one person that disliked this, I hope your socks are damp and your pillow is warm
That's pure evil
I have heard some harsh things before but my god man take anger classes lmfao
Sometimes we dislike by mistake, happens. We all did it once
CALM DOWN! YOU'RE MURDERING HIM!
@Rick James May the fleas of a thousand leppers converge on your underpants !
as a math nerd and a barbershop nerd, i love this a little too much
Is the math correct?
@@fagnersousa5906 Yes.
The math joke subtracting negative nine I love it
Something about Eddie doing the finger guns and wearing that hat just makes this so much better.
I call it the Shooter Mcgavin effect.
Reminds me of Saul Goodman
I absolutely love the running jokes they do
I spent today elbow-deep in Excel spreadsheets calculating all kinds of website analytics, and had "subtract the square root of 81, subtract negative 9...19 bottles of beer on the wall" on loop in my head for most of it. Had to come back and rewatch this (again) because how could I not?
150 bottles, divide it by 3, multiply it by 2, subtract 24, add the 9th prime, subtract the square root of 9, and then, take away negative 3.
150 / 3 = 50
50 * 2 = 100
100 - 24 = 76
76 + (9th prime) 23 = 99
99 - (square root of 9) 3 = 96
96 - (-3) = 99
Square root of 9 can be positive or negative 😇
Assuming the positive square root, that's 105.
@@WombatSlug if you assume the positive or absolute value of the square root of 9 then you get 99 but if you assume the negative square root then it becomes 105 because it said to subtract the square root of 9
99 - (-3) = 102
Then the next line
102 - (-3) =105
If you assume absolute or positive square root of 9 math is as follows:
99 - 3 = 96
96 - (-3) = 99
Nirad007 actually I assumed the ninth prime was 29. I missed one somewhere.
The square root of 9 is 3. It is impossible to get a negative root. The square root of -9 is 3i, and it isn’t a real number, it is only a stopgap for further solving algebraic expressions. 3 squared and -3 squared both equals 9, but the square root of 9 is only 3. That’s why x is only positive in a square root graph.
I first got to see these guys in concert in 2010 - they'd been invited to Norfolk, Virginia where I had just signed up with the local chapter. At the 'afterglow" I also had the privilege to sing a few bars with them. Great guys - definitely!!
Ok...hats off to actually making this song entertaining. 👍🍻
at 5:12 I had to pause the video because I was laughing hard
KJ is so hilarious..............HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
99 - 1 = 98
98 - 1 = 97
97 - 1 = 96
96 - 1 = [75, 74, 10, &, even] 95
95 - 1 = 94
94 - 1 = 93
93 - 1 = [93 said 16 times] 92
92 - 10 = 82
(82-2) / 2 = 40
40 / 2 - 1 = 19
19 - sqrt(81) - (-9) = 19 [or 37]
(19-4) / (1/10) = 150
150 / 3 = 50
50 x 2 = 100
100 - 24 = 76
76 + [9th prime] 23 = 99
99 - sqrt(9) = 96 [or 102]
96 - (-3) = 99 [or 105]
If they did the full math, with all of the square root possibilities, the answers could be 99, 105, 219, or 225.
I don't know how you got more than one answer. But I think it's funny that you counted how many times they sang "93". 😂
@@themusicalhallway3422 square roots have 2 answers like √81 can ether be 9 or -9 as both squared equals 81. so 19 - √81 - (-9) can be 19 if you assume √81 is 9 but its also 37 if you use -9 so you have two answer there. each of those answers get spit in two different answers again at the end with the √9
Absolutely hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
the half step down key change freaking destroyed me good god
Time stamp for the less educated/with it?

I want my calculator/adding machine to have a poney button. Most things should have one, quite frankly.
I love Lunch Break. I sang their stuff when I first got into barbershop music.
I'm almost certain 6:10 is a reference to when FRED did the same thing (3 of them huddling, and the 4th guy trying to join, but getting pushed away and falling on the floor) in butchers of harmony
Oooo, their slides are goooood! 👍🎶
"Hey! Clean up the stage when you're done! Drag him out of here! Thank you!" lol
With all the problems in the world, I'm watching this?
And laughing my ass off.
Merci beaucoup.
This is officially on my daily watch list. So amazing.
Order Of Operations: The Musical
Oh my my my! Hilarity and harmony!
Am I crazy or does anyone else hear someone say "98" instead of "97" when they switch?
yea it's the lead, but it don't matter
pretty sure he just said 90 and then the rest said the 7
Oh wow. Loved it. Thank you!
I don't think I want to be friends with the 13 people that disliked the video...
The teacher when I answer the question wrong
8:37
Funny thing is, Mike O'Neill, the bass who does the clubbing, is actually a high school teacher...
Brilliant. I'm terrible at math. but I always throw the respect to it!
Wild and well done, like the roast in the oven. LOL Loved it.
LOL Dude knocks him out. Gosh!
shane (tenor) got diagnosed with ALS and is slowly losing control of every single part of his body. theres a gofundme that lunch break set up to help shane out, but in the coming years, shane will most likely pass away. when i first heard the news i broke down and cried.
Yeah condolences to the members of the quartet 😢😢
Wich one is shane i get them all mixed up
Lunch break with a little r/oddlyspecific

Amazing
Anyone remember *Stephen Colbert’s* prop calculator (hand-held but with an adding-machine-like printer built-in) routines he’d do on his former show _The Colbert Report?_
Imagine if *Lunch Break* had been invited to that show, and borrowed his prop calculator to do this song.
I miss these guys!
I think KJ is a very uderrated bari. He blends really great!
He's killing it in Midtown - they placed 2nd this year!
@@parkerklinck263And just won the 🥇 last night!
@@JoelERea Exactly! and destroyed with a lunch break spoof
Someone should tell them Dad Wagon fell asleep listening to them
…Have you noticed a similarity between Dad Wagon’s tenor and Lunch Break’s lead?
You guys made my day! Thank you and Bless you.
99 bottles of FEAR on the wall?!
how they can do all this and not fall apart laughing
oh yeah and sing pretty damn well is beyond me
You have to practice it until it isn't as funny to you anymore because of the repetition
As a gal raised in a barbershop home....I find myself asking myself far to often...who dresses theses guys? 💕😂💗 Where was mom in these decisions?
They do pull off "Lunch Break" well. 👍
Ain't math fun when you're counting beer backwards 😂😂😂
The math checks out
3:56...........HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
93 93 93 93 93 93 93 93 .........
92 bottles of beer
Where did they get that antique adding machine?
If I remember right, we found it on Ebay.
hey KJ hun you win
They did the math 🎶
They did the monster math
Cute 🥰
Funny one! But isn't it kinda ironic that at their last performance at internationals, they got the ticket for the final while they nearly scratched it like every year they attended before? My mind literally says "they got better notes because the Jury new it's their last time. (yes I know that this one is from 2013, not 14, which was the year I meant).
Is the sheet music for this available to purchase somewhere?
Too funny
Wasnt that guy in Dad Wagon
Yes
What’s the sound at 1:12 after they cut off?
2:10
I wonder if this was a fact checked arrangement by David Wright?
Has anybody checked the last part of the math?
Yes, 150 / 3 * 2 - 24 + (9th prime) -sqrt(9) - (-3) = 99
150 / 3 = 50
50 * 2 = 100
100 - 24 = 76
primes: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23,...
76 + 23 = 99
sqrt(9) = 3
99 - 3 = 96
96 - (-3) = 96 + 3 = 99
All the math in this video checks out.
@@Klffsj D'oh! I got 105! I had 29 as the ninth prime. Whoops! Wonder which one I missed this time...
2:33 who said 96
The lead just sang 90.
Sorry but the tenor 😂. He looks like a roblox character 😂😂
That's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said about my appearance!
@@shanescott3239 sorry Shane, I have since matured a bit from when I made that pointless comment two years ago. I apologise, and I was completely naïve to say that. Maths
I think you'll find the word is mathematics. And while we're being pedantic, that's not a plural. As such, the more accurate abbreviation would indeed by math, and not maths. As it happens, maths is the British convention, while math is the US convention. Neither are wrong because that's not how language works.
is that the guy from Seinfeld on the left?
No, it's Shane Scott, but he's acknowledged the fact that he looks like that guy though lol
The word is MATHS and not MATH

Sorry guys, I watched it all, hoping to see something, but it was 9 minutes wasted. I can see that they really worked on it, and it took skill, but it was only mildly amusing. And no, I did not 'dislike' it.
I miss these guys!
