I just ran across this and it brings back so many memories. I sang in a women’s barbershop quartet when I was 21 & I’m 67 now. Those were the good old days. Now I sit in my apartment, not going out, due to the Covid. I have health issues, so being safe. I just subscribed to the channel, so I’ll have something GOOD and ENTERTAINING to listen to. Does anyone know if this quartet is still singing? Loved them and THANK YOU!!!!!
Glad you found us, Jan! The Newfangled Four announced their retirement earlier this year, but they will always have a place on our channel.
I joined the barbershop harmony society last year at 19, and this group was absolutely one of the inspirations. I will absolutely miss their presence and performances.

Right? As much as I love Main Street, I’ve heard them sing Britney and N’SYNC more than enough times. The concept would still be great if they did a few new songs in that arrangement.
The Newfangled Four always manage to add something new, and that’s IF they bring back an old song.
@@mephostopheles3752 I think part of what makes them unique in a way is that if they do the same song they in some way call back to a different song (banana phone) or how Jackson had been working on his high notes all year.
Also it's a bit insane to me that they can be as animated with the physical jokes while singing and stay in rhythm and volume.
@@hominid3528what blows me away is how they can do all that choreo and side conversation and be not singing for, like, 30-60 seconds, and then just come back in perfectly in tune and in sync. These guys are AMAZING.

Ellie Baldwin Ryan (the baritone) is leaving NF4 due to personal reasons and they’re retiring from competition for the time being. Thankfully they’re all still on good terms, but their performances will be missed :(

At least once a year, I always make it back here to be reminded of the wonders of Jaxtqq(vowel) Nintendoburger. Gotta love those harmonies and a good montage.
As that last 4 note harmony is held I feel like I have stepped inside a sound picture and am looking around at a masterpiece until the sound ends and closes the gallery door : )
I particularly love the two (that I could spot) places where Joey and Jackson had a (possibly very recent - like in that moment!) note swap and just folded the reminder into the choreography.
They get better and better every year but 6th again ugh 😭
