    the 991.1 has a flat rear lamp, the 991.2 has the moulded rear lamps.

    Very nice review. I am getting my Lava Orange model sometime next week so I'm very excited!
    I hope Autoart does the 992 GT3. I'm not very happy with Minichamps' decision to go resin with it. I mean, being sealed is already a slap in the face but not having the steerable wheels on their sealed diecast is just adding insult to injury.

      Congrats on your new model! The lava orange looks fantastic indeed; Kev has one as well. Couldn't agree more on the Minichamps bit; it appears the former diecast giants are starting to get lazy...

    Yup, the most unfortunate part of autoart is the remnants of the glue that overflows.
    I once bought an AutoArt Venom GT, this car has extraordinary engine details. There are lots of cables and hoses that have glue residue spilling out. I've been wondering, is this really from the factory or is it from my reseller who does the repair?
    Now that I remember, when I unboxed the AutoArt diecast, I still had the wire holding the hood still neat. Maybe this is because it's handmade?

    I dont mind the composite, although i enjoy diecast a lot more with resin.

    both gt3rs and 918 have made their steering wheel upside down if you look closely

    The glue squeeze out is totally unacceptable for AutoArt. I do like the model overall though. I would contact AutoArt over that one issue. If they said it was typical of this model, I would get out my Exacto knife set and excise that as carefully as possible.

      Agreed that the glue stains are disappointing. But regarding the knife, you are far braver than us! :)

      @@HandsOnDiecast I just received the AutoArt Porsche 05 CGT, (Millennium Edition). Fantastic model for the $$. However, I did have a problem with the fit and finish on the drivers side roof panel. This was the result of some "flash" on the contact point on the sill above the drivers seat. There were smudges of red paint on the black sill, and some red paint missing on the underside of the roof panel. Out came the exacto knife. After carefully removing the "flash" I touched up the black with a sharpie, and used a tiny amount of red paint to cover the bare spot on the underside of the roof panel. It helps to have 40+ years of scale model building experience... would not recommend this sort of thing to a newbie.

      @Stefanus Albert P. Disappointing when you are paying upwards of $200 on some of these models. I try to keep my cost below $150, and I'll do touch-ups when needed.

    Would you say its nicer than the minichamps version ? I dont know which to get. The minichamps do the acid green colour, which i absolutely love. But im kinda thinking the auto art casting is nicer ???

    • @HandsOnDiecast
      @HandsOnDiecast  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would definitely recommend the Autoart over the Minichamps. Granted, the Minichamps is probably cheaper, but you get what you pay for (i.e. sealed model, with less details all round).

    Autoart or spark gt3rs has better quality kai look ? Which should i go for ?

    • @HandsOnDiecast
      @HandsOnDiecast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our money would still be on the Autoart as the Spark model doesn't have opening parts and is pricier. Something about the wheel offset on the Spark looks odd to us too.

    Hi, I am new to your channel. I want to get the best quality models from autoart and every car has its downsides here or there. Very dissapointing. Got a RWB 993 and loving it. Now i am interested in the M3 GTR #42 from the 24h Nürbungring Race 2004 but the BMW emblem on the hood looks weird on every model I could find (slightly twisted to one side and the chrome underneath looks cheap).
    What do you think are the best models AutoArt has made so far?

    • @HandsOnDiecast
      @HandsOnDiecast  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've learnt that the concept of a "perfect" model doesn't exist; it's all about compromises! :)
      Best autoart models in our collection?
      EC: McLaren F1 (road car) and Pagani Zonda Revolucion
      Kevin: BMW 2002 Turbo and Mercedes Benz G63 6X6
