I love the M&P’s, have two in 9mm. I just recently tried a Springfield Armory XDM full size 40 at a range (they didn’t have an MP to rent), but I ended up really liking that XDM. Only things about it that would make me a little iffy on buying one is the ambidextrous mag release I feel like could be accidentally hit (maybe not, I’d need to handle it more), and the trigger I thought had a bit too much of a curve to it for my liking. Made me want to shoot low at first when pulling it. Got used to it pretty quick though. Both awesome guns.

Leo and Glock fan for over 20 years packing a Glock 23. Retired then rehired and issued a MP 40. First time shooting it and they were “all in” from 3 all the way back to the 15 rapid fire from 3,7, and 10. Fantastic pistol. Sister agency put a bad guy away with their MP 40. And theirs were “all in” from about 7 yards. Outstanding shooting under extremely high stress.
I just got mine on 23 Feb. 2033 in Central FL and I have to say I was very impressed with the pistol! Out of the box, it was very accurate and pleasant to shoot. I also have a Glock Model 45 (9mm) and a Kimber (the Shadow and yes it works) and a Taurus Commander 1911. But that being said, I think my new carry gun will be the S&W 40. I usually carry the 1911, but for now, it will be the S&W. The ammo is also very cheap - $15.00 a box of 50- and I also used Blazer Brass and aluminum (165 gr.) and both fed just fine. The brass was only $21 a box of 50. The Tier One training 180 gr. ammo is the $15.00 a box of 50. I also used Sig Sauer V-Crown JHP 180gr. That preformed very well. It all shot very well and had great accuracy every shot. And that was another for getting back into the .40 cal. was the ammo prices. Can't beat it. I really enjoy the videos, please keep them going. The S&W 40 was $699.00 before tax. Well worth it. And I might just buy another one, but in 9mm.
You know what I like about this gun in the 40 caliber you can replace the barrel with a 9 mm and you can run 9 mm in their and the 9 mm rounds will fit perfect in the 40 caliber magazine.

If you cant do anything with a .40 cal then sell all your guns. .40 cal is a great round and is the caliber of choice for many law enforcement officers and agencies.

The new S&w m&p and 40 caliber is a fantastic gun a lot of state troopers and police are using them today it's well made slightly heavier than a Glock but if you look at the new glock gen 5 they're not bad but it's a gimmick the Smith is much better gun and well made and a few dollars cheaper comes with a lot of extra stuff you'll see when I'm talking about the only thing that doesn't come with a speed loader for your magazine but if you have a Glock 19 you could use the same one it works or for a few dollars you could go on Amazon and who are the one it's a fantastic gun I give this video five stars for doing it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇺🇸💯👍

“Wrong caliber” because people put their faith in “hollow point technology.” I’ve said it before… physics takes over when technology fails. Let’s not forget that the .40 exists because of deficiencies (real or imagined) with 9mm.
A few reasons they do. In the 90s I sold to Law Enforcement for Glock, Beretta, Smith, H&K and a few others. 1. Service life of the gun, X many of years they replace. 2. The "NEWEST" thing, the 90s saw the 40 cal and Glock take over. Now the 9mm is coming back strong over the 40. 3. The "BEST", one department I worked with switched to the H&K P7 M13, it was a $2000 per gun switch to one of the best guns ever made. Hope that helps. UGD

I have the same pistol in a 40 and 9. I EDC my 9 and the 40 I have TruGlo Green/Light combo on it for the house. I love them to death.

There is no external safety on mine. The trigger has a safety built in. Smith does offer it with a manual safety also. UGD
