I shoot what feels good! I’m not going to carry a firearm just because it’s the next big thing unless it feels good otherwise, it will be sitting at the home instead of in my holster. Thanks for the vid! Awesome as always!

M&P40c has been my primary concealed carry since 2004. I can shoot it very well, never had an issue and for me, and I can shot it much better than a Glock and believe it or not, the recoil control is much better than a 9mm equivalent pistol which I believe is due to the heavier slide. I have never fired a weapon for concealed carry that I like better plus the .40 packs a wicked punch down range and a bonus, during the recent ammo shortage there was no 9mm to be found but plenty of .40 about everywhere I went.

Yes agreed. This is one of my favorite pick ups ever and the price was right. A great overall option here! Will be carrying it all fall and winter in my rotation

I had KKM Precision make me up a barrel in .357 Sig for my .40c, whenever I take this combo to the range I get other shooters asking what I'm shooting, firing. 357 Sig in the. 40c turns it into a real beast !!!

Listen man I absolutely love this channel and your content, I may not like every single gun you own but so what lol I have an opinion as we all do. The most important things we agree on tho and as a community of this channel I feel we all do. We’re all second amendment advocates and understand the power of it and why our for father’s empowered us to enact this right. We as a community understand the state of our country and the tyrannical powers that oppress us. I look at it like brothers just bickering when we disagree here in the comments from time to time. No harm no foul as long as we stay respectful. Your absolutely right when you say as long as you have something that can protect you and yours your fine.

I carried a Glock 39 as a backup. I would say these guns were issued to detectives and/or command personnel. The Smith compacts are about 5-10% bigger than the Glock 26/27/33/39 guns. So they're usually used as a stand alone sidearm. Most cops only shoot once or twice a year. At worst the outside will be beaten up but they almost always have beautiful internals. Police pickups are golden. I want to get my 40 out now! Good video Chief!

Good review. I have had a Police Trade In Full Size M&P 40 and it has been flawless. It’s shots soft like a 9mm in my opinion and even with all of the firearms I have. I still have this one in my Home Defense rotation.

Love mine. 9mm barrels for it are cheap. 357s barrels are still around, but pricy. Try the DPM recoil spring in it. It's so flat shooting. Had mine since last year. Was still brand new. My favorite carry, mainly winter. I like 40 alot too. Can't beat that 40c man for real. Put the Apex for the 1.0 in it. They have a heavier one, and a light one. The heavy is about like stock, the light is like a 1911. You're gonna love that one. I also have the 4" 2.0 in 40, and I can't tell any difference between the 2 in regards to recoil.

Back when the Bruin decision came out and I was able to finally able to get a Nj CCW and at the time I was only able to choose two ccw handguns that I will be able to carry for 2 years for the permit. My first choice was my 642, I carry that gun all the time but I knew I wanted my second option to be a semi auto, hold the max capacity in NJ (10 rounds) and be able to have a WML and be compact so I can minimize printing. I own a lot of full size guns so I only have 3 handguns in my collection that would fit the bill a Gen 4 Glock 26, a Gen one shield in 9mm and my Gen 1 M&P 40c. My 26 would occasionally have a double feed once every shooting trip of 150-250 rounds so I knew I could eliminate that from my decision (if anyone has any solutions I’m all ears) and that left me with the 9mm shield and M&P 40c. I ultimately chose the 40c for a few reasons: 1. 10+1 stock instead of 8+1 stock in the shield. 2. In NJ we are limited to non hollow point ammo like critical defense and I feel if I’m limited to my bullet selection I will pick 40 S&W and in the M&P 40c I’m able to shoot fast follow up shots. 3. An actual light rail where I can put an actual light like a tlr 7A vs a crappy tlr 6. I’m happy with my M&P 40c and I just got it cut for a 407c so now I have to learn how to shoot a dot now which will be fun. I might get an apex trigger or something flat face.

    • @spnfirearms
      @spnfirearms  ปีที่แล้ว

There were a few 2.0 40sw. released into the wild. They pop up on the used market RARELY!
Good news is; you can mate a 40sw 3.6 upper to a 9mm. 2.0 sc lower.
No, they don't have different size ejectors or any other frame parts.
I like the plastic semi curved Apex trigger shoe,
( if you really hate the stock trigger)
THICK? you need that in 40sw. to distribute recoil.

Just found a MP40c and just got some ammo and 1st day on the range tomorrow. Feels great in my hand. Question, serial number begins with HTC and I understand that means High Threat Concealment..but what does that mean, at least in terms of value and differences in gun types. They do seem to be better built, stainless steel is pretty hard to beat. Let's hope this gun shoots as well as it feels.

I currently carry one and agree they are very good pieces. Some things I'd like to point out though this is not as fat, wide and heavy as he is making it out to be. The slide is about the same weight and width as a G26/27. There is a little more weight in the frame though. Hikock45 verified this information. Also, I carry mine in a G26 kydex holster and it fits good. Just goes to show just how similar they actually are in size. Oh, and not all of them have magazine disconnect safety only a small amount. Good video though thanks.

The only thing holding it in place is a pin. Push the pin so you can take the bar and spring out, then push the pin back in. I did that to my CA compliant pistol right after I got it.

  • @cmonsterz

They are solid compact sdf’s. I’m also going to state some specific facts about the LE move to 9s. The DEI push and cultural engineering move has swamped government. So LE is now including a lot of females. Physically, they typically are much smaller and not nearly as strong as their male counterparts. So the 40 is harder for them to handle. Also, most LE do NOT train with their firearms nearly as much as they should. So with both M and F officers, their firearm control skills are not what they should be. The result is that today’s LE just go with the weaker round (scientific data shows that today’s 9 isn’t nearly equal to the 40). Don’t get your shorts in a bunch; even with “advances” in bullet technology for 9, it isn’t equal to 40. And let’s be honest; it’s not like zero work was done to make 40 better than it was three decades ago. I shoot 40 and 45 every bit as well as 9. It’s about putting in the time and just a little work.
