    My friend has one of these. I'm former military and he's current a green beret. We both HEAVILY favored this over the glock on the range. Much smoother and more accurate.

      @Jerzie Folks no excuses I own both a Glock 23 Gen 5 and a m&p 2.0 and Im more accurate with my m&P 2.0🤷🏽‍♂️

      @Jerzie Folks You are 100% right I carry my Glock more than I carry my m&P but I can say the M&P for the money is a better quality hammer.

    I bought a M&P 40 from a pawn shop friday new in the box for $400 he had it a while and couldnt sell it so i haggled them a little. Love this thing went shooting yesterday and the 40 is such a nice caliber. First full size handgun don't regret it at all.

    went to my local gun and pawn shop they had one of these with an apex tactical flat faced trigger and wow that trigger made all the difference and the gun felt like a dream. they were asking $625 so I went home and instantly bought a police trade in w/3 mags and the S&W box and ordered an apex trigger all for $450. it's coming I'm tomorrow and I can't wait.

    Why does everybody compare every damn gun in existence to a Glock? 😂😂😂 I was gonna buy a Moss 500 but the trigger pull wasnt as good as a Glock so I changed my mind.

      Because glock is the most reliable and standard pistol. More glocks are carried and used for duty than any other pistol

    I was pre-shopping for a new pistol today. I handled FNH, Baretta, Glock, Springfield, Ruger, Sig and the M&P. This M&P was by far my favorite. It just feels so good in your hand. I could not get over how it felt in my hand. It just blew me away. The trigger didn't seem mushy to me but we are all different. After handling all those guns I was most impressed with the M&P and the pricing was $529. It will be my next pistol.

    I have owned several glocks since the 90's in 9mm, 10mm & 45 acp. About 2 years ago I wanted to try something different so I purchased a M&P 9mm. Ran a few mags through it, within a month I sold my two current glocks 9 & 45 and purchased another M&P 9 and M&P 45. I have a friend that will buy nothing but glock and wants to argue all of the time about nothing beats a glock. I have ran thousand of rounds through glocks and now M&P, I will not say that a M&P is more durable but I will say that it matches the glock durability but with much more comfort and better accuracy. I know, glock glock glock! But there is a reason that many law enforcement dept are switching to M&P. There is also a good reason why the M&P is on the top of the list for the US military new service pistol! Why do people think the gen 4 glock has a steel guide rod? The M&P! Glock was having some guide rods melt and saw their competition polymer gun was running steel guy rods. I am not a glock hater, had several over many years. But facts are the M&P will hold it's own against glock any day. And where is Smith & Wesson made?

      A few weeks ago I purchased a M&P 9c for carry. Cleaned and greased out of box and took it to range, unbelievable how it shoots! Shoots as well as the full size M&P and groups as tight as full size M&P. My wife shot the 9c, after 3 mags she decided to replace her carry gun with a M&P 9c. So we went to get her one and I got another one. I was carrying a Springfield XDS 9 for the narrow width carry which is a good shooting pistol, but after shooting the M&P 9c the XDS carry had to be replaced. The friend wanted to get in another pissing match a few days ago about the glock but the funny thing I had to remind him of is he has never fired a M&P. He will bad mouth everything but a glock but has fired very few guns, probably fired

    I bought an M&P .40 when I started the Police academy back in 2012. I absolutely love it. It's reliable and feels great in my hands. Mine has the ambidextrous thumb safety. I use it as my off Duty now. I highly recommend getting one if you have the chance. Its a great pistol.

    I own (3) FS M&P's, all .40 caliber. A 2.0 and (2) 1.0's. The 1.0's are LE trade ins. I like them all equally. I have a .357 SIG barrel and a .40 to 9mm conversion barrel for the 1.0's.

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo
    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I will say that I tried out the PPQ and it is a good gun, I almost went with it when looking for a .40 caliber pistol but in the end the M&P felt better and had a higher capacity mag

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo
    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Same as always, I've owned several 40's before, just never really saw a need for the caliber, but with the ammo situation being what it is, its a good caliber to have

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo
    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well if its a conversion barrel then it just drops right in, but u can't put a regular replacement 9mm barrel in a 40 caliber gun because the extractors are in different places so a 40 cal gun won't reliably eject 9mm spent shell casings if u use a regular 9mm barrel because the extractor won't catch he edge of the casing. The conversion barrel on the other hand offsets the bore and chamber just slightly, which is just enuff to allow the extractor to catch the 9mm shells to eject them

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo
    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well it can be done but I wouldn't rely on it for self defense or home defense with a factory 9mm barrel because the 40 and 9mm have different extractors in different places on the frame and a 40 to 9mm conversion barrel offsets the bore and chamber slightly so that it reliably extracts spent casings, whereas a factory barrel doesn't do that. The 357 sig barrel does drop right in though because the casing of the rounds are the same size

    I strongly agree. I've shot a few Glocks, and I have to say that I wasn't terribly impressed. I mean, it shot well and handled well, but was just not comfortable for my hand. I grabbed the M&P and instantly loved it. Rented one to shoot and bought one the same day. Fits my hand perfectly, and I love it. Can't wait to get my carry permit for it.

    I own both, G23 Gen4 and M&P9 and love them both. The only thing that bothers me on a Glock is when you have full magazine that first round is harder to chamber, kinda makes me think if +1 would be a good idea to carry. I do agree on the trigger tho, I wish M&P had a better reset but its not a big deal.

    I am a former trooper with the Iowa State Patrol, from the revolver days. The ISP converted to autos, first the S&W Mod. 4046, then the S&W M&P. They traded in their M&Ps and re-issued Glock .40 cals ! I really gotta scratch my head on that !! Anyway, I have an as-new ex-ISP M&P and I love it ! x296 ISP.

    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well the M&P and Sig are two different animals ........ I have a 228 and the trigger is very different than the M&P40 but the M&P isn't a light trigger unless u keep your Sig decocked in double action and thats what your comfortable with but of course after the first shot you're back to single action mode which is actually lighter than the M&P trigger

  • @NeverEnuffAmmo
    @NeverEnuffAmmo  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah it can definitely be better, they have improved the reset in the newer models but I wish they'd rework the trigger. Not that its a horrible trigger, but when u compare it to the Glock, which is there main competition, its just not as good

    I don't know about burying for years, but they've been shot underwater, filled with sand, mud and small gravel and fired and I've seen them dragged behind a vehicle for a mile then shot and in all that, they never skipped a beat. They are a copy of a Glock in many ways, S&W made them to directly compete with the Glock and in doing so they had to make it just as durable and reliable since thats why people buy Glocks. S&W simply took the design and added some nicer features to it

    Matt, I used to have this gun and switched for a glock due to the finish. Up here in the Pacific NW I noticed that the M&P rusts really easy on the slide when in the backcountry. Not as easy as the beretta ,but it is still an issue. I have NEVER experienced that with my Glock. If I was still in north Texas this wouldnt be an issue, so I agree this is the best pistol for dry climates.

    I just purchased one 2 weeks ago. I love the way it feels in the hand. The ergonomics, size and weight are awesome. I don't feel the .40 has a kick much more than the 9mm. Sure you can tell you are shooting a bigger round but after just 2 weeks of shooting it I can shoot just as quick and on target as my 9mm.
    Plus it just looks better than the Glock. Glocks are great guns but I love this more.

    The problem you will have is the extractor may not grab the brass for 9mm so reliability goes right out the window.

    I'm with you on this. I have a good number of both, and I like the M&P better. Now I just need to convince S&W to make the M&P in 10mm!!! Great job, Matt

    I personally bought this specific model for my first pick ever. a previously shot s&w m&p 40 pro series for $450 while a new not fired same exaxt model for $750... The used one has not stopped shooting or ever jams on me personally i shoot around 150 rounds every time i visit range my barrels are all hot and this is by far the best weight distribution and longer handle with 2 mags and two grips and loads of police training rounds you cant go wrong wrong

    Just got mine today and I'm in love! I was going to get a glock 22 but I couldn't pass up a gun that was basically brand new for 300 bucks. Guy bought it and put two mags through it only to realize he had gotten the wrong gun lol he wanted the 5 inch and got the 4.25

    I carry one like this at work, it is indeed a reliable, a bit heavier than a glock but it is a fantastic gun. there is not a lot of after market parts for it comparing to glock but it shoots great.

    I just purchased this gun, luckily I got to get it at the Exchange on base got it for 445.00. I had actually went in for the Smith & Wesson Shield .40, they were out. I liked the feel of this one and at that price I took it home. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend, if I can keep it away from husband.

    I do agree with your statement though. For defense, 40 or 357 sig will do the job fine. But for cheaper shooting/plinking, dropping a 9mm barrel in will solve the issue.

    I suggest you read the manual-------- the part about take down and moving the small arm down and out of the way before removing slide

    Who dared to say that? This thing has a much in common with a Sigma as a Turtle has in common M&M.
