How To EASILY Pick & Open Jackfruit

One of the easy ways I open Jackfruit!
1. Refrigerate jackfruit for a few hours before cutting
2. Wear gloves
3. Lightly oil knife
4. Cut jackfruit in quarters lengthwise
5. Cut out the middle stem
6. Pat jackfruit sections with plastic bag to remove sap/latex
7. Separate fruit from stringy parts
8. Cut jackfruit from shell
How to clean your knives and cutting board:
1. Run them under very hot water
2. Wipe clean with dry paper towel
3. Dab new piece of paper towel in coconut oil and rub on knife and cutting board
4. Wash the knife and cutting board with hot water and soap :)

Thank you, 99 Ranch had whole jackfruit for 99 cents a pound and I bought a 18 pound jackfruit. I totally underestimated how sticky that sap is

haha yeah its sooo sticky. But getting it to stick to the plastic bag helps a lot

@@PureNaturalLuxuries Yeah that really helped! For cleaning I used the same trick as for pine sap 1 part oil+ 1 part alcohol- rub into sticky stuff then wash with dish soap

Yeah I store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They start to become translucent and smell sour when they start to go bad. No, I wouldn't say there's a limit to the amount you can eat :)

I love the taste of jackfruit, but cutting em open is a pain in the ass...especially all that sticky stuff that doesn't come off your hands from the skin juice. Good call on gloves...Thanks for the video though!
