    Some practical tips about these stats :
    - Infantry LMG upgrades deal more damage AT MAX Range, and will actually lose DPS at close range (opposite to every other infantry weapon, which gets more DPS the closer they get)
    - Flamethrowers deal extra damage to units in heavy cover and in garrison cover. 4 'shots' from a flamethrower can kill an infantryman in heavy cover or in a building. When in a building, all models take damage from a flamer, outside of buildings, it has an AOE.
    - Most weapons suffer a 50% penalty to DPS when moving. SMGs have a slightly better penalty at about 30%-40%. The only exception is the German G43 rifles, which suffer only a 10% penalty.
    - The StG 44 infrared only suffers a 10% accuracy penalty to units in cover (as opposed to 50%). 50% heavy cover damage penalty still applies though.
    Vehicle tips :
    - Most medium - heavy vehicles as well as AT guns in the game deal 160 damage. Only exception that deals more is Firefly (200), Elefant (300), Jagdtiger (320), and PaK 43 (320)
    - Light vehicles (halftrack, 222, scout cars, bren carrier) die in 2 hits. These usually have 200-320 HP.
    - Light tanks (Stuart, T70, Luchs, Puma, AEC, M15 CGMC, M20, and Greyhound) die in 3 hits. These usually have 400 HP.
    - Medium tanks (Panzer 4, T-34/76, Cromwell, etc.) die in 4 hits, they have 640 HP.
    - Premium mediums and cheap heavies (T-34/85, Easy 8, KV-1, KV-8, Panther, Comet, Sherman dozer) dies in 5-6 hits. They usually have 800 HP - 960 HP. The KV-1 has 800 HP, but takes 6 hits because it has a 20% damage resistance.
    - Heavy tanks typically need 9+ hits.
    - Most tanks have 40 range. AT guns and Tank destroyers like Jackson or Su-85 has 60 range. The Puppchen has 55 range. Some German heavies have 45 range also.
    - Ostheer tank hunters like StuG 3G and Panther only have 50 range, which is why they're a bit hard to use.

      Also some tips:
      Any cover stops working at 5 or less meters (exeption garrison) so no need to “dance around” enemies cover.
      Weapons that have “near” type of range will not benefit from getting closer than the borderline unless you want protection from other squad rather than the one closest to you. Example: Thompson near range is 8 meter wich means at point blank and at 8 meters it will have same dps HOWEVER if the enemy is in cover - better to get closer to negate cover bonus and unleash full potential of you gun
      Remeber the damage of the mines: all 30muni mines have 200 damage and apply engine damage, riegel mine has 320 damage (2 shots of tank or at gun) and immobilize (great for stopping allied tank dives and flanking), teller mine (ostheer at mine) has 400 damage - it can take down everything smaller than medium tank in one hit - scout cars, APCs, AEC, T70, Stuart (but not valentine, it is semi medium like wolverine and stug in terms of hp)
      AT snare ( at grenade, panzerfaust) damage engine when remaining health AFTER hit is at 75% or below. That’s why you need either 2 snares or at followed by snare to damage engine of medium and premium tanks
      However, since snare has 100 damage it will right away damage engine of all light vehicles.
      Some units has increase of damage with vets. Firefly gets 240 with vet3 and can take down medium tanks in 3 hits and panther in 4 (unlike all others 4 and 6 accordinly) and it take. (also worth mentioning that firefly has 200 damage instead of standart 160 it can 2 hit kill any light vehicle like puma or luchs)
      Puma gets 160 damage instead of 120 and can 3 hitkill other lights, onetap rocket arty and 4 hits kill mediums like any other AT.
      Some units has damage reduction (KV-1, Pershing, Kubelwagen). They got HP nerf for damage refuction. In practice it has same survivability but gets faster repair time
      Infantry AT is not the same - bazooka and piat deal 80 damage (100 for rangers, paratroopers and assault guards) while panzershreck deals 100
      In practice it let’s axis players to kill light tanks in 4 shots while allies must score 5 hits for Luchs and puma
      AT snare also not same for evetyone
      Grenadiers has more range and best penetration
      Some weapons have “execution chance” - when a model (not the entire squad) is bellow a hp thershold the “marksman” can rightaway kill model
      Example: Light Gay Jaeger Squad has SniperG43, if infatry model is at 75% health (it’s 1.5 hits from kar98 of other squad members) and “marksman” lands a hit (unlike snipers the CAN miss) the model will die, if hp is above this threshold it will deal standart damage. This mechanic works for OKW jaegers and USF pathfinders - marksman with 75% therahold for okw and 40% for pathfinders
      Certain units have unique abilities with certains guns - rangers, paras and assault guards get damage, pen and accuracy boost for bazookas, commando can shoot brens on the move and obers can shoot mg34 on the move
      Certain weapons ignore cover or have reduced penalties - sniper rifles ignore cover, flamethrowers have increased damage in heavy cover and garrison and don’t suffer any accuracy penalties, marksmen and obers with stg44 with infrared have reduced penalties
      There different types of “crush” - light vehicles can’t run over infantry, heavy covers or destroyed tank hull exept for other light vehicles

      Also one small but great detail about flamers vs infantry in no cover(water) actually is less effective than compared to infantry in the a building or heavy cover.

      Yeah it's less effective against negative cover (roads) and half as effective against negative cover (water) I did a video about it

    Thank you for condensing so much of this into a video. Looking at the stats is one thing but being able to actually understand them is a huge help, cheers.
    Oh also. Just an aside about the STG-44 being called the "MP44", that was the name originally given to the gun IRL when it was being developed. Hitler had initially disapproved of the project but it was still continued with and the gun was given the generic name of "MP44" to hide that. Funnily enough when the end result was shown to him Hitler was impressed by the rifle and supposedly suggested titling it the "Sturmgewehr" (which is German for Assault Rifle).
    As for why the gun is listed as an SMG in the stats... no clue there. Must just be a developer thing.

    For those coming from vCoH (or the vCoH modding scene), target size can be thought of as an equivalent to the "received accuracy" statistic. In the same way that a weapon's base accuracy will be multiplied by the target size it's shooting at (rifle with 0.45 accuracy firing at a target with a size of 0.75 would have 0.3375 accuracy against that target), a vCoH target will go through the same formula based on received accuracy.
    In the above instance, a vCoH Grenadier K98 (0.45 accuracy at L range) is firing at a unit with either Elite armor or Airborne armor (if moving); the same math would apply.

    How does armour work on infantry like shock troops?

    • @GonkOrange
      @GonkOrange  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same way as it does against vehicles. All weapons, even small arms, have a penetration value. If the weapon fails to penetrate the shock troops armor, it does no damage.
      Example:
      A Kar98 has 1 penetration. Shock troops have 1.5 armor
      1/1.5 = .66 = 66% chance to pen

    These in depth analysis are ridiculous. The only thing that is necessary is does this unit win vs this unit at this range or in this cover.

    • @GonkOrange
      @GonkOrange  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why is it ridiculous?
      If you want to understand the game at a more fundamental level, or look at the games patchnotes and actually understand what they mean, then understanding the stats is important.
      If it's uninteresting to you, or you only want "practical" info (altho I do consider this pretty practical) there's plenty of other info on my channel and you don't have to watch this video.

    • @DustyPazner
      @DustyPazner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GonkOrange this is simply not going to be entertaining enough to sit through. Videos of infantry vs infantry or tank v tank are much more popular (views wise) much shorter and are not a long video of data. Perhaps ridiculous was the wrong word to use as I didn't mean the video was bad, just trying to give advice since coh 2 creators are far and few and you make very good videos otherwise.
