    First tractor I learned to drive. It was a very handy one. I still remember the gear pattern and the tool box was under the clutch pedal.

    I'm behind on your 1365 project videos. I'll have to binge watch them when I find time. This one looks like it will give you quite a few videos after doing all of the things it needs. But it will be a sweet tractor when you're done!

    Great little repair job there, our 550 is gas with power steering and that’s on my list is to cut the steering cylinders and rebuild them, weld them back up and get that leak taken care of

    Great project! Late 550 diesel with front PTO lever and Power Steering. The steering cylinders look like they may have some Ford dna. Ford and Oliver both used Saginaw p/s components. The steering box and valve are similar. Later Ford cylinders were made with a replaceable packing gland. Enjoy your videos!

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John! I bet these are off of a Ford. They should’ve used a rebuildable style right away. But I suppose that was the beginning of our transition to a throwaway society.

    That is a nice looking little tractor. We have a MF 165 Diesel we have owned since 1997. It is in good shape but it also has some little leaks that need fixed. Seems to be a more common problem with some of the Perkins engine. Nothing like a bj. lol

    Glad to see the 550 getting some love. I have one myself. I would like to see what you do to get the shifter to go between low and high range - also hydraulic troubleshooting. I have rebuilt and replaced my hydraulic pump and it still isn't right on my 550. Works great otherwise

    Was wondering where the glow plugs are on the 550 diesel engine if you have a picture or video

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no glow plug per se, there are some intake manifold heaters. I’ll try to point that out in the next video on the 550.

    Ross what year is this tractor? Also did a sod farm own this tractor because of the turf tires?

    • @rosstheoliverman

      I’ll have to look up the year, but it is a later style one so probably in the late 60s. I’m not sure why the turf tires
