@@Peanutdenver I think I understand what you're trying to say, but it's not exactly a fair comparison. You're saying that for the same amount of acceleration as in the A45, the C63 engine will have to work harder, right? It's true that it'll need more power to move it, but you're forgetting that the engine itself has more power and torque, and has an electric motor to help it. Any engine would work at a higher overall load when put in a heavier vehicle, but this one has help. Don't think there should be a notable difference. I do agree with you on the platform though. If I were in the market for such a car I wouldn't go for a C63 either. To me AMGs are the German muscle cars, to have one without a V8 just defeats most of the point. I'd either go for an M3/M4 or shell out the extra cash for an E63. And like you, I don't have anything against this car, it's just not for me. Neither do I have anything against the inevitable full electrification of these sports cars, but I just prefer enjoying proper ICE cars for as long as they last.
@@xIcarus227 That's a good point on the hybrid system and it's all speculation until we see these cars 5 or 6 years down the road and how they are holding up mechanically. Some Merc's see minimal issues once they get some miles on the clock and some don't. But that's true with a lot of cars.
@@1980arw Yes as long as they keep that naming sceme they should have. This is not a feer by Mercedes..too bad. they know how to make a fast and quality car, but this is too much.. anyone who has the opportunity would definitely buy a BMWM3 or an Audi RS4.. maybe an Alfa V6..
Good call, they are only going to get more expensive now. When BMW ruined the design of the 3 series my m3 nearly doubled in value. These will be full electric in 5 years, this car will age like milk.
One thing to keep in mind the costs for repairs on a V8 turbo engine are double those of smaller engines. I own an M5 and it was 2000$ to change spark plugs and air filters. Also, if your car is a newer model most local shops will not service it (as they only work on older cars) so you re forced to go to the dealer (at least that s my case).
If you want an incredible 4 cyl, Mercedes already offer the 45 series, CLA 45, A 45 and GLA 45 AMG for example. I have no idea why the C63 has been converted to a 4 cyl but then the E63 has stayed as an 8 cyl. It's just weird.

As electric & hybrid car performance makes IC performance irrelevant, we won't be looking back at the most powerful IC engines we'll be looking back at the ones that were the most emotive, the 6.2L M156 being one of them along with a slew of other engines. As a S205 C63s owner Im sad to see the V8s go, but the performance and engineering that went into this new car is just mind blowing. If someone told me you can go 0-100km/h in 3 seconds with a 2 ton family car when I was a kid, I would have thought that person was insane. On the topic of repair and maintenance cost, due to the higher quality components and fluids used, it will be more expensive to own and run any day of the week no matter the technology in the car. In my eyes the new C63s a Toyota Prius dialed all the way up to 11, only difference will be you get charged a premium depending on the type of car you own. When pushed to the maximum any component will fail eventually, how often you need to repair a car is mainly dependent on how you use it. The first year of owning my C63s I broke a drive shaft, worn out the diff, had to replace brake disks, a couple sets of new(mainly rear) tires while having fun pushing the car to it's limits. The following years my maintenance cost drastically reduced to only paying for the regular service and tire change when needed because I used the car more like a commuter. In my own experience as long as you take care of your car and use it in a normal way, it will not ruin your wallet.
The C63 has always been my favourite small sports sedan and this one is still up there for me. Yes the loss of the V8 is sad but that's the way of the world now. I just really can't decide between the C63 and the C43 which has the same engine without the hybrid shenanigans.❤️
Having owned a c63 (w204) and an Evo VI GSR, i've had both my god like v8 and a highly strung 4 pot, when i heard this was coming out without a v8/v6 i was a bit. However after seeing it perform here i'm not so disappointed. I'm still a year away from jumping into a new car though, which whilst could be one of the following 4: 2014 M5, early M2, Yaris GF Circuit, or back into a C63 w204 with PP (diff and a cheeky map up at MSL). What say thee all about my options? My current C320 does about 32 mpg and I drive to London and back 3 times a month, i could get 30 mpg with the c63 so thats why i'm not ruling that out. I've test driven the GR Circuit and it reminded me of my EVO and theyre as quick, and the M5 seems like really good value for money, just a bit big for threading around the lanes where i live, but a m4 blaster no doubt. What say ye all, any other considerations?
Yeah why couldn't they just put a 6-cylinder engine, and just renamed it as the new C43. I don't think people would be as mad if they didn't use the C63 name.
it looks great! i like the tail lights more then those of my 205. interior is nice altough i would miss the normal buttons... but the sound... big part of the reason why i accept the price of a C63 is the sound (and the feel of the V8), now its even more expensive and both these points are gone... because lets be fair, if only the best drag/track performance is important you look at an alfa, BMW or a class higher at the E63 S.
It is good looking. Especially the coupe. But overall the w204 is the best C class ever. Perfect small sedan platform. Especially like my own with absolutely zero screens or excessive tech. It's like vanilla ice cream, where it's good all around but plain enough to modify successfully and change the whole flavor. I lowered it 1.5", widened it 2", and the fitment is perfect all around. It started with a 3.0 V6, 240hp and 4WD. Lowered it, widened it, BRABUS wrap around spoiler instead of the ducktail, rear window roofline spoiler, front lip spoiler (only buy rubber lip spoilers if you live in 4 season locations, real carbon is a waste of money on your daily driver), BRABUS panamericana grille, BRABUS software and transmission tune, x pipe, straight pipe, Porsche 996 GT3 'double bubble' exhaust tips in black, dual carbon fiber intakes, and now it's pushing probably 280-290hp. I am an adult in Boston. I can have 1 car. It can't be a high horsepower RWD coupe because it snows and rains a lot and I need to fit a child seat in back. I am not racing anybody, I'm not going over 100-110mph often. I can do 30 miles on the highway to and from work at 90mph no problem, rock solid stability, and take my off ramp at high speed in 3rd gear while that engine sings. It sounds AWESOME. No turbos, no supercharger, just high revving naturally aspirated music. Would I like 350hp? Sure. But it wouldn't change anything in the way I use it. I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 20 years and giving me access to more power than I need is asking for trouble. That's the most mature thing I've ever said, I think. Holy shit.
It’s crazy how a M3 comp despite being so low on power still manage 3.1 sec for 0-60. And I reckon it’s gonna do it again and again on the other hand c63e gonna need to charge it’s battery after a few launches.😢
@@asssiesgaming453 The oil gets warmed up from the battery’s heat being dissipated.
