Oh we went here last year and now I am seeing the video! This was a real top restaurant. We went to a pseudo Indian restaurant (probably Bangladeshi or Pakistani) first and it smelled so bad. Then we went here and it was such a sigh of relief!
So stoked you enjoyed this last year! They've only been open 1.5 - 2 years, and to see the love and recognition they are getting through the comments means the world.
I’ve eaten here twice, the dal, the paneer and parathas OMG! It’s finger licking good food. And awesome service. Anytime im in the city I always make it a point to go eat here.
I'm watching this at middle of night and now I'm feeling hungry after watching yummy authentic punjabi food. Thank you for featuring this restaurant in LA.
Live on the east coast I have been to this restaurant food ambience was great and best part was the service and anmol was amazing talking to all the customers loved his warmth and friendly nature
I used to go to all India cafe multiple times per week since I lived close by at the time. It was one of my favorite Indian restaurants, and I remember paramit working there as well as his son when he was a young one without a beard( he helped out quite a bit). I did go last year to roots for lunch with a friend in the area, and the food was excellent, especially the salmon. I was surprised to see the owners since I didn’t know this was their new place, as all India changed management years before they closed( and it showed in the food)
INCREDIBLE. This history, this story and origin story bringing an OG like yourself to their video is the beauty of TH-cam. Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Thrilled to see you know the best of the best, especially that Salmon!!
This comment means everything. I try to provide a raw, authentic experience for the viewer behind these restaurants, and I love every bit of it. Thank you, sincerely.
Traditional Panjabi cuisine is hard to beat; from the butter naans, to butter chicken, to sarson da saag, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, tandoori king prawns, Amritsari machi, Amritsari kulcha, daal makhni, channe bhature, sheekh kebab, mutton saag, mutton karahi, to the deserts like gulab jamun, rasomalai, jalebi, khoya di barfi, besen, to the drinks like mango lassi and masala chai. Natural ingredients, lots of desi ghee, lots of protein, proper organic dairy, organic wheats, plenty of vegetables, and a decent amount of carbs. Full of flavour and spice! For me, the absolute very best cuisine in the world.
@@DamonSlater 100% it is. You haven't tried it. Im Canadian who has been to both countries. The meat items are epic on Pakistani side, they get their influence from their other neighbors Afghanistan and Iran
@@Deira854 nope. Are you making things up again? Why would you say I've never been to both countries lol. I'm Panjabi. Born and raised and living in the UK. I go to both sides regular. We have family in Lahore and in Indian Panjab. The food in Indian Panjab is marginlly better. Good on Pakistan side is more simple and less spiced. All the dishes I mentioned are better in Indian Panjab. The best thing about Pakistan Panjab is that you can get beef. So slow cooked beef is really good, biryani's, niharis, haleem, etc. But the diesh I mentioned, yeah, no competition, India wins hands down, no questions asked.
I haven’t found a good Punjabi restaurant in LA, but for an authentic Hyderabad restaurant please try “ CHARMINAR INDIAN RESTAURANT & CATERING”. It is in Laguna Niguel..
My homeland food but unfortunately too much butter and cheese.. growing as child in 70es in Punjabi household cheese was not there of course butter always in every household…
You criticize too much for no reasons-you can always go back to Idli and whatever goes with it. Indian restaurants are only known for Punjabi type food. You guys can go back to your basic daal-roti.

It's Punjabi-American cuisine, but also paying homage to other Indian cultures with Dosas, Chaat, and other layers of what they grew up with Los Angeles. This won't a Punjabi Dhaba, but it will be authentic and genuine with their take on their culture. That's enough for me.
@@tijrug123 No one ever said everything has to be halal lol, just saying the LA county has a crazy Muslim population as well , by adding halal as an option, you’ll draw crazy more customers, but it’s ultimately the owners decision. Just a piece of advice .😊

Looks like generic Indian food...what's distinctly Punjabi about this? And I'm pretty sure the rice pancakes are from the southern part of India.
And chaat is not Punjabi either. But anyways , happy to see entrepreneurs succeed
