It's a Pakistani restaurant, not an Indian restaurant. The owner, Mahboob Hussain, was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and moved to the UK at a young age in 1969. I have been to both of its restaurants in Manchester and London several times. All the cuisine and chefs are Pakistani. Previously, I saw on their website explicitly stating that the restaurant and cuisine are Pakistani and not Indian. I'm completely lost as to why anyone would call it an Indian restaurant.
It's a complete misconception to say that both Pakistani and Indian cuisines are the same. These are big differences in Indian and Pakistani cuisines. Both have their own individual characteristics and history.
Pakistani cuisine is influenced by Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and Afghan flavors, with a focus on meat dishes, particularly beef and lamb.
Indian cuisine is highly diverse, with significant vegetarian options influenced by Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist traditions.
but website of this restaurant, write himself as Indian restaurant you can check
yeah hard to sell food if you put pakistani origins in it. stop whining n enjoy the food
@@kaushikkumarsuhagiya8582 No it dosen't say they are exclusively a Indian restaurant and I qoute from their website, "Drawing on influences from India and Pakistan",.
Pakistan is basically India or whatever bro
If the owner was so much interested in showing this as a Pakistani restaurant he would have done so by promoting Pakistani art or changing the name of the restaurant altogether. He would have corrected the documentry producer as well but he's not interested and all he wants is customer so to hell with over 70 year's of Pakistan's history and food culture. Take for example the Afghani cuisine when they first started poeple didnt know what they were or what they served but as time passed customer's realised the difference and the food they served just like Nando's. Moral of the story, People will respect your food or culture if you Advertise it as such and then they know the difference.
Kebab mince rolling on the skewer was quite a unique equipment i have seen for bulk cooking of kebab
Its good to see "junior" ( the owner) looking well after all these years. Used to work with him at Nawaab bradford long time ago.
This is ten years old maybe.
This is by far the best desi restaurant in the west
My favourite restaurant in the world, been visiting for 15 years! RP
Price for buffet?
@@balance3201 it was around £16/18 but I think it's been closed a year or more. Unless it reopened under new ownership.
He has finally decided to pay influencer to advertise . I had it in Manchester 18 years ago ,it was great . Last year I travelled 80 miles to London ,I was very very disappointed . Looks like sales have gone down as greed has taken over . Let me know once you have reached the same standard as 18 years ago .
I went to Ilford one (East London) a few months ago, an absolute horror. Staff was so rude, yelling out at customers to stay in line which they were BUT customer service was so poor. Even street food restaurants will give customers more respect. After all, you are changing people roughly £30 per person for a buffet. I will not go there again. I have not been to Perivale for some time so let's see if it still meets my expectations.
Awesome
Any restaurant owner knows to attract customers need to brand it as Indian restaurant, our neighbouring cafe are pakistani but even had changed their name to Delhi Corner to attract cx 😂
The manager shows off too much over the camera. He is panicking more than the others do.
And paying most of emplyees less than minimum wage (cash in hand),
It's probably for show. The cameraman probably told them to act as if they were busy managing the kitchen.
Even the Food Network does it.
He got the 7 11 accent , goofy 😆😆
Super ❤❤❤🎉🎉
Its one of the best restaurants in the uk love it
Its moving to stockport to a much big location
Pakistani owner & Pakistani restaurant with Indian dishes as well .
Super yummy food
Amazing
Yummy curry
Masah Allah
@Banijay Foods this restaurant is owned by a Pakistani and the food they are serving is from Pakistan which does have some similarities with Indian food.
Same thing
It's called " Indian restaurant " for a reason; it doesn't mean that it is owned by an Indian national.
All south Asian food are very same but with little regional variation differences
Mr mahboob I am been coming to your restaurant for last 20 years I didn’t know you was Indian, you better get this right,Pakistani food ,it’s traditional Pakistani foood
Same kinda thing champ
It is a Pakistani restaurant NOT Indian!
But the food is ofcourse Indian
Lol No!! @@creativity2598

In which universe is Man Utd the most famous football club in the world?
They said in Manchester and also, they are one of the most famous clubs in the world, fact.
In the real one sir.
In this universe itself. Real Madrid, Bayern Milan Man United...all heritage clubs. All famous irrespective of their current form. Rich in history.
Man united not even most famous club in england. Liverpool Football Club most favorite and famous English club in whole world
@@chandineebhujan3868 LOL. Liverpool are the most successful. Certainly not the most famous. That's Man United
I live in Manchester. Nawaab closed down long ago.
Oh no. Really? Why?
The owners have split now...this restaurant has been renamed @@spicybrown75

Not called Nawaab any more
It’s called manzil now
That is my home town
13:55 so they got some sophisticated machines for their kebabs and what not but they can't get a chopping machine or some sort.... funny
To be fair, it IS described by the production as Indian. Clearly a mistake but note there are very few Pakistani branded restaurants in the UK. That is mostly because the owners branded it as Indian. Change it. Be proud. Rebrand as Pakistani 🙏
It's the in UK or USA
Someone mentioned it’s closedown ?
Curry has many kinds. Indian, Pakistanis, Malaysians Curry has its specialties if made well in high standards. Malaysian Chinese also has their unique flavours made well in high standards and can be improved to many types. I personally perfer Malaysian Chinese curry version. These curry are not as heavily dense slight earthy flavour.
U didn’t mention Bangladeshi 🇧🇩 Maldivian 🇲🇻 Nepalese 🇳🇵 Bhutanese 🇧🇹 & Sri Lankan 🇱🇰 curries they are all virtually same of some regional various differences
90% of Indian restaurants are owned & run by Bangladesh people, 10% are shared by Pakistani & Indian's
How fascinating it's all called Indian to us though
@@billywatts4689 all 3 countries used to be 1 country called India, most of the Indian restaurants name are from old India...
Yes 90% so-called Indian restaurants are owned by Bangladeshis from sylhet region of north east of the country. Yes we proud of India because we were one country but maybe borders separates each other but food 🥘 or cuisines hasn’t changed.

Heard the brits are done with Indian food and moving to fish and chips again❤❤🎉🎉
You heard wrong
Brit here: we love both our fish and chips and our curries. ❤
@@user-mg4bw5ly8r speak for yourself I don't like either thanks
Lol, in the comments, everyone is crying that it's a Pakistani restaurant. Why don't you change the name? Literally, everywhere in Europe and the US, Pakistani and Bangladeshi owned restaurants are named Indian restaurants. That's how you stay in business. Why don't you start representing your own country and stop using the Indian name for your benefit? Indian cuisine is much more than what is served in this restaurant. South, North, East, and West India each have their own diverse cuisines and culinary traditions. A large part of our meals is vegetarian as well.
In this particular case, if they changed the name to Pakistani restaurant, I personally don't think that they'd loose many customers. This is because, in my opinion, 80% of their customers are Pakistanis, or people of Pakistani descent.
U should be more proud they representing ur country, also the reason they using Indian brand because used to be one country
you don't want to know what is remained in the kitchen after such 1000-1500+ Indian banquettes, with all that curry etc... :/
BRUSSELS BELGIUM
1987, Manchester curry mile, a place that had menu items like Suicide, Cremation, shit like that. Never ate anything as had to use the toilet. My goodness, you had to go through the kitchen and that did it for me. Foul. But I also spotted there was way too much powder spice in the sauces. Put me off Asian curry for years.
Cool story bro
PAKISTANI RESTRAUNT*
Their website says it is an INDIAN restaurant. Pakistan only has terrorism
INDIAN RESTAURANT
Bit late getting this posted, hasnt been Nawaabs in a very long time. They split and renamed it Merzee. Quality plummeted, and prices rocketed. Cuuries here are bland af. Even got severe food poisoning the last time i went and they just brudhed me off.
If you want the best in manchester then hit me up ill take you to real authentic pakistani restaurants.
Yaaaay! Pakistani 🎉🎉🎉🎉
It's popular but not the best in pure food terms.
Indian food is just too heavy! Its fine for the working class who need the calories, but many today work sitting down behind a desk! Just don't need the number of calories
Must sell them the electric green pepper chopper machines. Why they are so old fashion. Still using manual labours. Poor staff can speed up work😅
Is the most loved dish in the UK a curry dish? really?
Apparently so. ..
A modern twist on middle Eastern jabab. Hahaha 😂 you out of your mind. Go to Pakistan ever nook and corner makes and sell these kebab 24/7. In a milli second we can judge it is a Pakistani restaurant with Pakistani vibe . Nothing compares.
Pakistanis have class, yes you can tell right away, cleanliness, well dressed, well spoken, well groomed, hospitality, and top of all that, so much meat 😅 plus the glow 👍 1:24
NOT AN INDIAN RESTAURANT, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT !!!!

Best tasted curry chicken ever eaten is from the CARIBBEAN ISLANDS ..
it’s pakistani not Indian!
Although the cuisine is Indian the staff and owners all look like Pakistanis
It’s Pakistani owned like most “Indian” restaurants in northern England. In the UK “Indian food” is a generic term for Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi food. In southern England, most Indian restaurants are Bangladeshi owned.
@@fdama I know all that. The issue is that Indian cuisine in reality is far more wide and vast than the few dishes being served here. It's akin to only pizza being served as Italian cuisine.
Do indians eat that much meat ? I m sure indians don't even know how to cook meat, also of course you can tell the difference between pakistani and indian, don't these people look clean, well dressed and well groomed, have class !!!
They all look the same to me
@@billywatts4689 right, like many can't distinguish between people from Ireland, Scotland and England.
why did they appear to only ask american sounding customers their thoughts lol...... its much better to go a mile down the road and eat in comfort and peace at one of many normal Indian restaurants to pick from.
Food with hair 😂 no body cover
No owner going to get supplies himself. Its all drama
In this part of the video he talks about how big this kitchen is but I have been in TAVERN ON THE GREEN, and the WALDORF ASTORIA both in MANHATTAN and they are hugh, and in the WALDORF they have multiple lines and a hugh stock and sauce room but just look at there numbers and revenue and we are talking numbers hugh gross sales and that's just food what about the bar sales hugh banquet hall

To all the Pakistani, Nothing is Pakistani all Recepies and dishes are Indian, Cultures and Culinary Styles are not made in just 70 years, it takes hundred of years.
No it isn’t it’s all Pakistan most of the dishes are stop being jealous we all know were you Indians come to eat 😂😂😂
You're absolutely right man. Infact, English people can't discriminate between an Indian or Pakistani. Genetically we all are Indians and that's what English people say and they are absolutely right. Only we sub-continental people know we are now different nations but genetically we are the same breed. Together, Sub-continental world famous cuisines, their names, ingredients are the same on both sides of the border. As it took centuries to develop these tastes . So the answer to my Pakistani brothers, these English people can't differentiate between a Pakistani or Indian, even the speaking is the same. So if the "Gora" speaker has mentioned restaurant to be Indian just ignore this guy afterall we all are genetically Indian and we can't deny it. Thanks for reading and I'm a Pakistani too.
It’s changed hands cos the owners got greedy and fought over who staying and whose leaving.now 1party has left it’s changed it’s Name to Merzee..what a crap name …..(MERZEE means it’s up to you or you decision).
