We stopped there on our way through Chicago a couple weeks ago. They were so quick! The fries stayed crispy just like they designed. What a wonderful spot to visit.
I grew up in Chicago and have been going to Super Dawg for over 40 years. Nothings beats that juicy dog nestled in a box with those tasty fries. Best dog in town!

I live in New Zealand and this is the first hotdog place I’ve seen where I immediately wish I could teleport & eat. Family owned too!!! Love this content, much love to the family ❤
When they say they don’t make them like they used to they really don’t. And the funny thing is that machine may do better now than what a modern machine would.
The attention to detail regarding the vents in the box is top-notch! I've always cracked the lid on my to go orders to keep the fries and such to not steam and stay crisp.
That custom steam table is pretty neat, and still doing it's job perfectly. They don't build stuff like that anymore. I've never had a steamed hot dog. I like mine grilled with some crust.
I don't know how many times I made fries and never understood why they were substandard. When I learned to blanch them, they were great. Makes all the difference.

Their dog is also a jumbo dog made specially for them, which I like better than the thin ones typically served in Chicago. The best representation of a Chicago dog IMHO. I can never finish all the fries.
I really wish companys would bring back reliable kitchen applications like that potato crinkler. Some food joints in america are truly like that: they have the timeless recipe but it doubles with their original grill or something thatll keep it timeless. Im glad its generational too, i hope they keep it going!
the original owners used to come into a restaurant i worked at regularly and were the sweetest people, very down to earth and humble. glad to see the next generation is continuing the tradition

Amazing gyros, hot dogs, thin crust pizza, deep dish pizza, tacos, Italian beef sandwiches, world class steakhouses, Garret's popcorn, Polish sausage, Indian food, Italian food...this is off the top of my head.
Don, Lisa, and the whole Drucker family are so great. Been going to Superdawg my whole life, there's no place like it. It's the most genuine/consistent hot dog joint in the whole city. It's not a hot dog, its a Superdawg!
This is the original location on MIlwaukee Ave at Devon. There's a second one a few miles north in Wheeling, on the same road -- Milwaukee Ave. Newer and more modern looking. Not that there's anything wrong with that! Great operation!

Reminds me of the famous “Pink’s Hotdogs” in Los Angeles, California. That place is so busy that the line goes several blocks sometimes. It’s been there for decades, and it’s very very famous. The hotdogs they use is called Huffy.
I remember watching them on TLC about 14 years back. I am so glad to see the next generation as car hop, and them doing well. I really hope they continue to be in business for a very long time.

These places are incredible, many reasons....delicious foods, efficient and Family owned n operated! We desperately need MORE places/ restaurants like this. I enjoy Drive-ins ( although very few here in California) also great Cafe's / Diners are awesome ! I'm hungry now 😅
I have only been to the Wheeling location, but the superdawgs are incredible, love the relish! The jumbo shrimp are HUGE, might be expensive but they are really amazing.
The fading of mom and pop and family run businesses the past 30 years has been sad. This is why I love to see places like this still going. If ever in Chicago, I'm stopping by here.
Had lunch here while visiting Chicago in 2008 after seeing it on the Food Network. Quite the site and grate food still have the souvenir keychain I bought.
I’ve eaten there many many times. Awesome. Unfortunately I moved to Orlando Florida. I miss Italian beefs. I miss deep dish pizza. I miss super dogs. That’s why I come back once a year to visit my kids.
I hope they’re in business for many generations to come. I can tell they have tons of pride in their craft.

Their burgers are so amazing. 11 mile drive for me is worth it every few months.

It's the total package that makes it great. The hot dog is okay, but the fry nibs and box make it feel like opening a Christmas present.
