  • ALLUVIAL GOLD PROSPECTING - A SIMPLE WAY TO SEPARATE GOLD FROM BLACK SANDS
In this video I demonstrate a quick, simple, and effective way to extract Gold from Black Sand concentrates. Black Sands can be really annoying when they are in high proportion; making it difficult to get your Gold out. There are many devices on the market specifically designed to deal with extracting your Gold from Black Sands and these come in handy when dealing with bulk concentrates, but when you only have a pan full of cons, this is a quick and easy way to extract your Gold.

Great teaching video for an absolute novice like me. Just love the sound of the gold being snuffered from the gold pan into the snuffer bottle..top draw tomcat. Well worth the time and patience for the end result.

good methods thank you. I also find it helpful to classify at all through 50 mesh and then 100 mesh. and work it separately it seems to make it easier

I agree with Jan Johannes Smith earlier who said to classify with mesh screens. Use of magnet when the concentrate is dry, so try to separate in a dry condition. Then when panning, or sluicing, or blue bowl break the water tension with some Jet-Dry Finish solution, dish washer liquid. And of course you can do this in any order you prefer. The fines can be ran through the final wash several times which will get you the flour gold. Great info on your vid and as you are very determined miner!

Remember this is just a very quick easy way presented here. Of course there are more thorough methods beyond the scope of this video.

You think a bit of magnetic water it magnetic fluid would get all the black sand; leaving all the gold?

Did you watch the whole vid. I demonstrate how a magnet does NOT GET ALL BLACK SAND

It is called “The Alabama Bump”, but more bumping on the side will walk the gold over the black sand and bunch it up and then snuffer it out! You can call it anything you want, bumpity bump! Yeah the sharp pops with the stick of wood helps too! What ever works. Lol

The other thing that helps is a magnet.

Thanks for the input mate, but as you will see in the video, I demonstrate the use of a Magnet to highlight that not all black sand is magnetic. Regards Aussie
