I didn't even realize until your video that the narrative function of the 26-year time jump is to illustrate the change in Peter from standing up for defenseless animals to kicking them in the next scene, which I now realize gives his line toward the end more weight, "Life is giving us a chance to give a shit" because that's his arc! He goes from caring about life to losing his mom to not caring about anything to meeting the other Guardians and finally growing to care about life again. You're right, Gamora, Drax, and Rocket spread the power of the stone through themselves when they touched Quill at the climax. The Collector explains that a group of people were able to do the same thing at some earlier point in history when he tells them about the stones, but also points out that those people could only control the power for a finite amount of time, so presumably these guys also couldn't have used it indefinitely.

Wow, that was so much fun! First thing I want to say is *Thank You* for saying right up front that you had already seen this movie. Love your honesty as much as I love your reactions. Seeing as it was 10+ years ago I am not surprised that you didn't remember much of it. While this movie stands great on its own, it is even better when you have the context of the previous nine MCU films that have paved the way and teased the existence of the Infinity Stones. (wow, you are into the double digits!)
I am glad you liked Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser. I thought he played the role well and made a decent enemy, although many people treat him as one of the more forgettable villains of the MCU. It was a good job and he carried weight to his menace.
One of the other things I always praise this movie for: *This* is the way you introduce an entire team of characters and get the audience to love them. There have been other superhero films that tried to bring together a big cast and failed to pull it off to this degree. This had great humor that hit every note, as well as a soundtrack that was amazing. If you can immerse yourself into the movie it is one of the most fun movies I have ever watched. The greatest movie of all time? Not by a long shot, but it sure was fun.

To follow up on a couple of your thoughts. You were technically introduced to the Term "Infinity Stones" at the end of Thor: The Dark World. Volstagg says something like: "The Tesseract is already on Asgard. It's not wise to keep two Infinity Stones so close together" (When they met up with The Collector (which he follows up saying "1 down; 5 to go.") So that is at least 3 you are aware of and others maybe. 👀
Each has a name and power. Each power is different. The Orb is the Power Stone (so gives you incredible power), which is why it can "level a planet" the others don't have the same power, but are all Powerful. Since you can, through this logic, puzzle together that the Tesseract is also a Stone...its powers have gone from vague in Captain America: The First Avenger, to a bit more well-defined in The Avengers. If unclear, I'll just leave it at: The Tesseract was used to open a portal to let Loki in, and eventually to open a portal to let the Chitauri army in.

My head canon, (based on what I understand about the comics and following movies), is that Quill, Gamora, Drax and Rocket were able to hold/wield the Power Stone, because all 4 of them are genetically enhanced versions of each of their species. To clarify: just about every single storyline and every single interpretation of a character in the MCU is based directly or indirectly on something a writer has done in the comics. Comics vary greatly in tone and genre - they have to, considering Marvel Comics alone has to publish around 50 different books a month, every single month, for generations - and if anything, the MCU depiction of this version of the Guardians is good bit more comedic than they were in their comic (the team originally banded together in the middle of an intergalactic war).

Another good one, Jax! You're moving right along in the MCU, and I'm glad you enjoyed this sleeper hit for Marvel.
You'll learn more about the Infinity Stones as we move along in the story. For now, I'll explain a bit about the Collector. In the comics, he's one member of a group of ancient beings called the Elders of the Universe. Each is the last surviving member of his own species, and is capable of living practically forever. Since they possess eternal life, each tends to fixate on some activity to give his existence purpose. For Tanaleer Tivan, it's collecting rare and unusual items. And as you noticed, that included enslaving innocent people. That's why he wants the Infinity Stones -- not to use them, but simply to have something no one else has.
Re: The after-credits scene -- It was meant as something of an in-joke for comic book fans. The dog in the space suit and the talking duck are both well-established characters in the Marvel mythos. In particular, the appearance of Howard the Duck probably had lots of fans laughing and clapping. I hope that explains things a little.

Another amazing reaction, I love your inserts you add in editing, it adds great flavor to the video on top of your sincerity. As far as the infinity stones they are fundamental forces of the universe. Each stone represents a different fundamental force that was a result of the creation of the universe. The Tesseract is the Space stone which transports objects from any point in space to another. The power stone is simply that raw power or strength. It’s energy is so great that it destroys those that touch it directly if they are mortal. The other stone we have encountered in our journey thus far is the Aether a.k.a. The Reality stone. Which we saw in Thor 2 it can alter the reality around it, as well as our perceptions of reality. Hopefully the last 3 will be fairly obvious as we make our way through the rest of this phase and phase 3.

32:58 There are a total of 6 infinity stones and each control an essential aspect of the universe. I can tell you now those aspects are Space, Mind, Power, Reality, Time, and Soul. Each are a different color and each have different effects/capabilities. The colors are Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Orange, and Green. Its hard to find them considering their age, the size of the universe, and the size of the stones themselves. For example, the planet of Morag we saw at the beginning of the movie where Peter found the Orb was a tidal planet almost entirely covered by water and that portion of the planet is underwater for 300 years at a time until tides recede for 1 rotation (1 'day'). Talk about timing!
We learned in Thor The Dark World that the Aether is one of the Infinity Stones and although it can take the form of a stone it is usually in a fluidic form and it is the Reality stone (Red). We know that the Tesseract is a stone and we can sort of guess its the Space stone because of its ability to open portals and transport people/things (Blue). We see in this movie the purple stone and we can guess its the Power stone considering.....well, the immense power it grants the wielder. I walso want to point out the Power stone is the only one with the requirement that the wielder is inherently powerful enough to withstand the stone to properly wield it. When you're weak like the pink slave girl you just....explode. When you're powerful like Ronan or Thanos you're fine.
Aside from that nothing else is 100% confirmed by where you are in the MCU but yes Thanos is the big bad guy through all of this and the first 23 MCU movies are collectively known as the Infinity Saga. We can also tease you and say there is a 4th infinity stone you have seen in action and learned of but there is a more proper movie for you to realize it coming soon....
