      I mean, it has to be harder than helldive is. I don't want the new hardest difficulty to be immediately doable for me. I want to have to work and practice to be able to do it. If there's nothing to work towards, why would I play?

      @@dapperpotato4243 I think the comment was more pointing out that the best way to play the game is to not play the game. All of these solo runs have the main goal to engage as little with the game mechanics as possible. This is influenced entirely by game design of course, which is why it needs to be improved.

      @@yesididitverywellthey failed the mission, and it was about eggs. They also talked about how the liked armor penetration and used turrets that blew up immediately. It’s funny because they never nerfed the auto cannon, the CEO’s favorite weapon which he said. But that does make sense why there’s so much artificial difficulty

      Videos are few and far between, the players that solo helldive. And the videos I have seen just display boring exploitive gameplay, like crawling and sneaking all over the map. That is not fun, that is brainrot. that may be fun for the low self esteem gamers out there that need to brag about something to make themselves feel better, but sweaty rediculous gameplay is not going to cut it for the already thousands of players, including myself, that just wanted to have fun without being forced into being free beta testers.
      Seeing the dismal return of those players that left says it all. An advertised so called big update should have made all those players curious to see if anything has gotten better, so where are they????

      The enemies could've stay the way they are, as long as they removed that infuriating critical damage they do and don't touch weapons anymore, because every time they touch them is to give a tiny bit buff with a huge nerf in tow included, honestly i was skeptical but i was willing to give the benefit of the doubt this time, guess i was right all along.

    PS: I love how they won't give the HMG more ammo per mag because "it would be unrealistic" meanwhile a helldiver can lug around 3 MG mags full of 150 rounds each, but can only handle 4 15 round incendiary breaker mags? That's completely realistic, have a nice day.
    AH really needs to sit down as a dev team and decide if they want people to keep playing their game, because every patch to date has been anti-player. I don't look forward to patches anymore... I dread them. This last one wasn't terrible, but it added an even more difficult mode without giving players anything new to meet the challenge...
    PSS: The flamer nerf (bug fix) 2 days before they release a flame based warbond is peak AH lack of playtesting. Ah yes, let us make a pure flame build completely unusable 2 days before we try to charge money for people to run a pure flame build.

      Indeed, I've being testing the new flamethrower physics an collisions. As things are right now the new weapons are going to be a disaster. With the shotgun being the only possible exception if it's good enough to replace the breaker.

This is a fully released game that they are treating like a beta. It might be the norm for game companies to do that these days, but it is rather anti-consumer. It is not the communities duty to inform AH what changes need to be made. We are only doing so because we are invested in the game. Although, my investment is pretty much dead in the water at this point...

    The ragdolls killed all the fun out of this game for me, and now they want to add even more. I played bots recently and in a SINGLE mission, I got stuck under the map 3 times. Apparently, asking my team to grenade me 3 times so I can actually play the game is what I should find fun, according to a lot of comments.
    The flamethrower being nerfed because it was bugged in the first place is 100% peak Arrowhead.

      Known issues list:
      Eagle stratagem cooldowns are too short.
      Orbital stratagems do not have the intended large spread.
      The flamethrower.
      The railgun penetrating enemies.
      Issue with scout walker bot not being annoying
      Issue with breaker incendiary being fun.
      Issue with discord server not talking about politics.
      Not enough environmental hazards to randomly die to.
      The 10k players we have.

      @@noble_lemon Helldivers 1 had that, only a simultaneous squad wipe meant a game over. It didn't have a stupid time limit to go along with the bigger map size either, and it had a downed state that encouraged teamplay among many other things that made the game way more fun and balanced.

    To people saying, "they *only* nerfed 1 weapon and buffed a bunch, so do not complain"
    It only takes *one* nerf to nerf someone's favorite style of play. And also, not all buffs and nerfs are created equally. The buffs are on average far less impactful than the nerfs that they dish out, with the exception of when they originally buffed the flamethrower (which was the only great weapon balancing decision they ever made, now reversed).

      Some nerfs are deserved but Arrowhead tends to overnerf things. Incendiary Breaker could've used 1 less mag and the recoil. Losing 2 mags was too much imo.

    You are the voice of reason for this game. The amount of cope from streamers defending the flamethrower and breaker nerfs is truly awe inspiring. "It was never intended to work like that" idc it was fun and made the flamethrower actually useful. It was always garbage at bots and now it cant kill chargers or bile titans effectively

      The flamethrower had one purpose: dispose of chargers. It takes eons to even kill a brood commander with it. And its' trash clear is subpar compared to the Stalwart and MG43. Hunters outstrafing your weapon's turn speed makes it comically bad against them. Plus you can seemingly at random set yourself on fire. Quite literally a worthless weapon. At least make its' fire apply a fear effect on enemies, make them do less damage and move slower, maybe even make them back up and keep distance when you use it. Then at least it would have a purpose. Now it's just a worse MG43.

    I watched some of the dev stream today and they weren't even playing diff 6 (no supers on the map when they would bring up the hud).
    These people are "balancing" the game.

      From what I saw, they were playing Hard difficulty. Also noticed little things from their gameplay that indicate a lack of experience playing their actual game. One that really jumped out was when they were carrying artillery shells to the SEAF they were walking them the entire way to the gun instead of dropping them and picking them up for 2x the speed.

      Being a developer doesn't mean you're good at playing your own game... that said, people responsible for balancing the game absolutely should be good at the game though...
      Balancing across the wide spectrum of difficulties we have can't possibly be easy - weapons shouldn't feel too overpowered at lower difficulties but also shouldn't be underpowered for high difficulties. And the differences between something like 5 and 9 (and now 10) are kinda big. Where in 5 you can have a leisurely stroll in between objectives and on 9 you might be constantly under pressure with hundreds of enemies after you every other minute...
      Also, devs streaming doesn't have to be work related, right? Can't they just have a couple casual games in their time off? Or do they have to be sweaty tryhards playing the highest difficulty just because they're streaming their own game?
      And were the devs streaming from the balancing team? Or were they, say, designers or programmers or something? Designers and programmers aren't responsible for balancing, just saying...
      Either way a dev stream doesn't necessarily be representative of what they do at work... for all we know they may (or may not) properly play test internally on both lower and highest difficulties.
      Honestly I'm just kinda trying to imagine myself in their shoes. I have 228 hours on account and still struggle with 9 even though I've had it unlocked and been playing it for probably over half of my playtime. Usually I just do (or at least try) like one full operation in the evening, which is like 2 hours, give or take, and then go do other stuff... Those guys, if they're doing their jobs right, probably have in the thousand+ hours played at this point... Hopefully most of the time on higher difficulties...

      @@Moravuscz If you can look at the current state of the game, the last several major patches, and believe that anyone at AH actually playtests any changes before going live I have a great timeshare opportunity for you.
      Acknowledging AH employees as people should be a given, but being this level of apologist for a company that is rather clearly dragging their own product through the mud is beyond counter productive. HD2 is DEMONSTRABLY worse than it was at launch... even when all the AT weapons hit like wet noodles I felt I had a better chance of holding my ground than I do now. Their own bloody patch notes stated that they LOWERED heavy spawns, yet charger spawns have fething quadrupled! And they don't even acknowledge this as a problem? Both enemy spawns and Helldiver ammo economy are borked atm. If one doesn't bring the supply backpack they will be out of ammo after a single bug breach or bot drop... and that doesn't even account for patrols. Sure, you could always do the AH forced meta of just run from everything and drive by objective pressing... but that is not fun or engaging game play.

      there's really no time to sit there and charge shots at chargers tbh. solo I'm better off just using supply pack and 3 orbitals/eagles. that's the current state of support weapons vs bugs

    I had about 3 separate occasions today where I saw the charger do it's charge, I try diving, and then it course corrects and hits me 3 times in a row because I get stuck to it's leg. OR- a few times I've dodged the charge just for them to drift towards me and kill me by stomping the ground 4 feet away from me..

      crossbow is great for bots, trouble is so many people play almost exclusively bugs and I think it's the swarms but whatever it is bug players tend to gravitate to a single loadout, and they're about to release a fire warbond so if they don't switch up the meta regularly people wouldn't bother playing to unlock other weapons

      Cleared a full level 10 operation with 2 newbie friends and a random 20-something and it went like a breeze. No one brought a flamethrower. It ain't that hard.

      @@el-low6663 Default Airstrike, 500kg, orbital precision strike, 120mm barrage, to name a few stratagem options.
      For support weapons; EATs, Commandos, Spear, Recoilless, hell - even the exosuit with the autocannons.
      Can also bring autocannon turret, rocket turret, mortar turrets.
      Maybe your group should bring less anti-swarm and more AT.

    There should be two modes for helldivers two. Arcade mode for people who want damaging guns more ammo and a "tactical" mode for Arrowhead simps who want everything to hit like a nerf gun.

    If you have to play with randoms, your experience on 10 is entirely up to them. Bugs was hectic, but fun. Bots was just death by rockets and a pain in the arse. The bug experience seems less dependent on your teammates than the bots, though. Difficulty 10 is a good addition, but the state of the game is beyond ridiculous at this point and completely kills what should have been an amazing update...

      Surprisingly i found the bots are way more doable than bugs now, other than the extra flight milleage from rockets eveywhere, you don't get mobbed by heavies you can't deal with because they have no weakspots, i'd rather face 50 hulks with a variety of weapons than 10 chargers because their weakspots are on places that you can shoot without doing acrobatics with more variety of guns rather than just shooting with the AT's.

    I think the unexpected success of this game at launch inflated the dev's ego so much they became unable to see that all they really needed to do is leave the core game alone and just iron out bugs and performance issues... the game itself and the community would be in much better shape today had they done that instead.

    I have been playing solo since most of my friends have stopped playing. I love the game but I felt the need to uninstall it after this update. They added so much nuisances (and nerfs) without compensating on anything. This update was supposed to revitalize the game and bring back old players, sadly they may have done the opposite.

      Up until the update dropped I was running random loadouts and farming super credits eagerly awaiting this update. I helped liberate Wezen after the MO was completed.
      With what they just dropped on us I'm taking a break until I see some weapon buffs and enemy nerfs/re-designs because holy hell the all of the frustrating parts of HD2 just got even more frustrating, the build diversity just took a nosedive even further down, and the fun moments are a lot less fun. I play the game to fight and destroy the enemy on the highest difficulty, not run away the whole time with nerf guns while I rely on my cooldowns to do the heavy lifting.
      It's not all that doom and gloom I'm exaggerating...but I'm just not happy with the direction they are going. I already was bored fighting bugs due to the lack of build variety, now that just got even worse with the new enemies, spawn rates, and death of an entire playstyle.

      I have RX 7900 XTX (best AMD card, RTX 4080 equivalent) and I'm getting not much above 90 fps at 1440p resolution with no upscale and most settings set to low with some exceptions like ultra render distance and a few others. Also due to most likely memory leaks, every mission I play gets ~10fps less than the last, so after several missions I might be running well under 60fps, it only gets fixed by restarting the game

    I don't actually care about the nerfs as I never use breaker or flamethrower anyway.
    The only gripe I have that this update brought to light was ragdolling. Your armor level should 100% have a say in it. There is no reason a Helldiver with Tanky Heavy armor should be tossed around the same as if he were running baby PeeWee armor.

      This I agree with. Heavy armor should make Helldivers immune to ragdoll, medium armor should make ragdoll only have 50% of its intended effect and light armor should have the full ragdoll effect (but should also have a slight sprint speed increase too to offset it). Gives a reason to run heavy armor then seeing as it doesn’t seem to matter what armor you wear when it comes to damage as the armor values are a joke and you will still get 2 shot by a hunter no matter your armor because of the stupid headshots enemies do (like seriously, why do pve enemies need the ability to headshot?)

    Not this patch, but the last big patch was the only patch where I didn't feel like they took my food and gave me a couple of crumbs as buffs. Although this patch mainly focused on fixes and new enemies, balancing the weapons seems to be heading back to the old BS.

      Yeah the last patch reeked of AH saying collectively "okay fine here are some semi meaningful changes to stratagems that no one was using to break the AH curse of never buffing. Even then they were token changes, sure some made stratagems better but that was just stratagems, which are always on cooldown. Weapons are still a joke and this just further cemented AH's way is doing things.

    The Rocket Tank and Impaler are 100% responses to everybody saying this game isn't multiplayer. The Rocket Tank pins somebody down, if they advance on it they die, the Rocket Tank needs to be flanked. The Impaler similarly needs it's arms to be shot and it's fleshy neck to be dove at the exact same time. The arms go down really easily but spreadshot guns suck. I bring the Sickle and it eviscerates the arms but buckshot is unreliable. They die easily but they're skinny and need sustained damage put into them.

    while I would like an Impaler nerf, AH has never nerfed any of the rag dolling on the bot side (in fact they only made them worse with those new rocket striders)... so now both fronts will have you equally rag dolled.
    Also I havent gotten over them nerfing mantling out of bug areas.

    About not bringing Support weapons as meta i can totally see it, reasons why:
    Firepower against tanks from support weapon such as the Expendables/Commando, Recoiless Rifle and Quasar Cannon do not oneshot tanks in most circumstances, which is an terrible thing since you constantly fight over 2-3 of them by yourself, and you lose them in death so recovering them is most of the time impossible if u are getting swarmed on both factions.
    However against small or medium enemies they do an great job like the grenade launcher, or all 3 machine guns each for different reasons.
    Orbitals and Eagles can potencially take down an entire patrol or army by themselves in one single cast such as 500kg, 380mm, Walking barrage, 120mm, Precision strike (Always takes down 1 tank or 2) or Railcannon, Airstrike, etc.
    Also some of these have great capacity to clear small/medium enemies like napalm, gas strike, gattling barrage.
    So brinding 2 orbitals 2 eagles with the orbitals being of low cooldown can totally work.

    I left to get milk and came back to see that there was no change to Exos other than cosmetics, they're still nerfing popular loadouts right before a major warbond drop, and bugs present during launch are returning such as the friend list straight up not working and not allowing me to invite the boys to play together to see the new stuff in the first place...     i love how everything in this game meant to slow down the player..
    stim? > better stop a second while the enemy is attacking you. Because fk you.
    getting pinned down? > well, guess who's dead now..because "dying is fun",
    reload? > lets make as interruptable and draggy as possible.
    jumping away from hunters? > not on my watch, Ragdoll Diver
    out of ammo? > yeah pesky player.. better wait two minutes for resupply or search like an idiot for ammo
    out of grenades and stims? > lol, do you think this game is meant to be fun and balanced?
    mission mods? > yeah, lets see how we can extend your slow-paced experience even more
    and so on. And thats just a few examples regarding in-mission drags. Now head over to your steam hours played vs in-mission time and see the whole picture of blown up time waste. However, with the last nerf-update, this game is considerably lost. The devs dont want it to be fun and a success. Theres no other explanation. And wasting intentionally the players lifetime and inserting intentionally drags and slow-downs in the gameplay to a degree that cannot be called game design anymore, doesnt help either.

      I've managed to extract a couple of times with the Terminides' egg; it's not really worth it. At the end of the mission, it only gives you 2 super samples and 4 rare samples, which is quite disappointing because I expected more when they said "a fabulous reward," like a loot area with the possibility of getting super credits.​@@ZeroRulz0

    this is why i stick to using laser based (battery) weapons because so long as your mindful of cooldowns and you constantly on the move you will never run out of ammo and can just clear away bugs with relative ease
    and before anyone says laser based weapons cant beat heavy armored enemies and although this is true to an extent (if ya arent patient) there is always the Quasar cannon

      Watching how they destroy every fun thing was and is very painful.
      This title picture of a game where helldivers are shooting everything around them while holding their ground...it was really like that.
      It felt like that.
      Hunters were dealing like 1/6 or 1/5 of your hp, not ridiculous amount of hp like they do now. Bot spawns were easier.
      Right now it's running simulator. I wanted to roleplay as a cool helldiver, not a dude with paper gun who dies from 2 enemy hits.

    I was almost excited to come back to Helldivers after looking at some of the changes and then I saw Impaler.
    Its been almost 2 months.
    One of the biggest gaming successes in recent years (coming from a smaller dev) and its being pissed away...
    Also Impaler fitting 400 meters worth of tentacle inside a fat charger proves HMG can have more ammo.

    I think SEAF is a good objective, *if you include the ammo carrying exploit*, you can do it faster with more players, you can do multiple steps simultaneously, it could definitely deploy faster, but mechanically it's better than the rest. I wish you could rotate the radar dish right away.

    The impaler is the worst thing they have added in a while. It requires zero line of sight to target you, it has infinite range, the tentacle will 1 shot you if it spawns beneath you and the ragdoll timing is in line with its next attack. If you get knocked over between 2 tentacles there is absolute no way to escape. Tie that with the 1 shot mechanic and you it literally knock you over and then instantly 1 shot you when a new tentacle emerges.

    Sadly solo play has become way too boring. Engaging enemies is almost impossible so now all you do is runing around. The only good thing is the new stims really help for that.

    What do you think is now the best way of dealing with chargers? The flamethrower is now unusable against them and add clear can be done with the breaker incendiary, defeating the flamethrowers purpose.

    Re: your stratagems, it felt like the absolute MVP of the run was the grenade pistol, with the supply backpack second. It felt like the incendiary breaker was really only there to create enough space that you could keep running. Railgun only served to demonstrate why the Railgun is still not worth using.
    Between the extra ragdolls, enemies still phasing through walls, Hunter wombo combos, I'm just not sure if HD is for me any more. I'm glad you're still playing because I like to see where the game is at in case things change, but you are doing the lord's work chewing glass, friend 😂❤

    I was playing Helldive difficulty on the day this dropped, on the new swamp planet, and my team was just getting smoked. It was me (100+), a high level player (80+) and two medium-level players (40). The lower level guys were just spawning and instantly dying, over and over. They got separated from their support weapons for most of the game. I couldn't clear anything, I'm just running the whole time. Then we all got stuck on the giant wall of trees in the middle of the map, while the tentacles whipped us. We just couldn't get ahead of it.
    After a while I was like, "What the hell is this? What the hell am I playing?"
    I am so, so disappointed in this update. I've put an embarrassing amount of hours into this game since 1.0. I hit level 100 a long time ago, I have nothing left to unlock. I brought friends into the game and got them started. I nurse new players I bump into, I play with randoms all the time. I like to try out weird and unpopular loadouts on level 7 (Eagle smoke actually rules). I adapt my loadout to my team on level 9, instead of just sticking to my favorite support weapon. I am a passionate player. And I think I'm ready to put the game on the shelf.
    I don't understand this at all. It's like the developers don't play the game. What is going on?

    Flamer can still burn a charger's butt off, but so can a lot of weapons. Won't hurt the leg is the change.

    the final evolution of the stalker should be a flying stalker with slightly less effective camo that has these huge nests that look like stalagmite skyscrapers.
    the next bile titan should have pustules on its back that fire acid mortar bombs that explode and spawn special green scavs and pouncers that run at you and explode.

    The most interesting thing from this update is on the acid planets where their storms decrease the armor value of all units makes the game feel so much better to play at least against the bugs on 10

    Funny thing is that Super Helldive with bots is much easier than BS that is unfolding on bugs missions.
    Those two are not even comparable how much harder bugs on SuperHD are ( at least if you want to clear center nest).

    Precision strike does really well against impalas. more reliable than 500kg these days

    Fastest way to kill Impaler is the Railcannon Strike, 1shot 1killa. And the next way with no stratagem is three shots to their back legs. Just pick a leg and shoot it with the commando. Not easy though cause Impaler has always cousins around it xD

      railcannon isn't consistent for a 1 shot. it's cooldown makes it not worth bringing imo.

      @@OhDough I don't do solo so I understand you want to find an efficient and fast way to deal with it. Ι agree, the cooldown is too much for the Railcannon Strike. Unfortunately there are not so many ways dealing with the Impaler fast and easy. Most of the time I just use orbital precision strike and maybe if it's already got hurt by someone else in the group it goes down. If not some of his armor after the precision strike will go away (the back legs have weak armor) and I can just finish it.

    They need to either limit the impailer deploy range, or lower the speed at which those tendrils slam down at you giving you time to bait and dodge, animation of the slam moves faster than a quasar round....

    The sheer fact that you can't take a second, one second, to charge the Railgun should speak VOLUMES about how bizarre that AH thinks this game is a tactical shooter.
