Great that you have found away too keep travelling. I have really enjoyed all your vids so far and I'm this series will just as good. It is my plan too travel as much of Europe as I can manage. Rained the day I got my 1st car, the day I sailed around Cape of Good Hope, the day I got my 1st MV Agusta F4, the day I got my 1st "GS", the days I reached Cape Aghulas & Noordkaap, etc etc. Really looking forward to your videos. I've been subscribed for months without much activity.....

@@Got2Go Really looking forward to that one. I started on a trip from Stavanger to Nordkapp this September, but turned back south east after reaching Trondheim. It was too wet and cold up there. Hope you get some nicer conditions.

What a girl! Your perseverance is most impressive. If I was younger I would volunteer to travel anywhere with you 😄 Surprised you chose a huge BMW GS though.......I wish you luck, I abandoned mine in South Iran after so many breakdowns, and the struggle to pick the damn thing up on soft ground or mud particularly in very high temperatures, I never ride them now as not the bike for genuine Adventure Riders in my opinion. If your clutch goes, and it will if you do a lot of off-road, the whole of the rear end must be removed. 8 hours if you are professional and have the tools, left in deep mud 140 kilometres south of Ahwaz if you cannot. I hope you have a great and safe trip, will worry about you now.
Yes, that’s why I never would take this bike to a serious off-road destination though. But you really can’t be too picky when your own bike is stuck in westafrica and you are stuck in a country that is actually not your home country. 😂 And I have to admit: I really like the 1200 gs for European asphalt and alp roads, it’s quite comfortable. Guess my dream setup would be the Tenere as a travel bike and the GS for the roads here at home 😍
@@Got2Go What a relief you wont go off road! Was quite worried. My choice currently is an Indian FTR1200 or Kawasaki SX H2 depending on destination in Europe and the Yamaha Tenere 700 for serious off-road everywhere else. I've had my fill of BMW's even a K1300 GT let me down in a big way in Italy. Thanks for the reply and safe journey to you both.
@@paulcosgrove6160 we went off-road - but to be honest the off-road we did in Scandinavia and the trans European trail there is not exactly like roads in westafrica. Very doable on the gs as well - as long as you don’t put it down it’s as well not so bad off-road 😂

how was long way up? Long way round encouraged me a lot to do my motorcycle license and go on my trip around the world - but after I then was in all the countries that Charlie and Ewan traveled all by myself I somehow started to think that they complained a lot and made a lot of drama for traveling with a support car and film team...

This is something I wanted to do with my Pan European but never did because of a serious accident at work... All the bones in my foot broke. After an 8 month revalidation everything was ok though. Now I drive a new Goldwing so I doubt this would be the right bike to go to the Nordkapp :( although I have to admit it is still on my bucket list :-) love your videos. great work!
I think you totally can go on a goldwing to Nordkapp! All the roads in Norway are paved and very well done - I would not see why you could not drive them with a Goldwing! Don't cross t off your bucket list, just put it a bit more on top. :)

Very nice videos and everything in general👏🏻👏🏻 Now when you did two very long trips with two different bikes (bmw gs and tenere), how would you compare them.. because obviously you have much more experience on these bikes, which are made mostly for long journeys, then some other reviewers on YT. Oh I am looking so forward to Nigeria. But probably will be a long time, we probably have to export the bikes soon because our custom document run out. 😭😭😭 But I will for sure out that on the map. 😍
Heidenau Scout K60. Not over happy with them, they can do some miles but are very hard and slippery. Couldn't get my hands on the tires I wanted in time as our departure was so spontanious. Will do a big tire review at one point as this question comes up so often and there are just so many tires that I tried and have an opinion about that it's too long for here. :)
I wish! It's my travel partners spare bike - he kind of collects motorcycles. ;) (but if I have some spare money I am thinking about getting a bigger bike for the european roads...)
@@m.d9726 have to admit though that I quite enjoyed the GS on all the beautiful alpine roads in Switzerland and Italy this year. It’s a good bike as long as you don’t go difficult off-road or end up in a place with no bmw Motorrad Dealers who can fix your keyless ride or all the technical stuff. 😁

I know this video is about Norway but it was so interesting to see the visa process for your initial plans to go to Africa. I feel we are so spoiled that between Alaska to Patagonia we don't require any visas. I badly want to ride through Africa after seeing all your videos so will make a note to check the visa requirements ... meanwhile can't wait to follow your journey up north :-)

It's the BMW Motorrad Enduroguard (normally not the biggest fan of bmw gear but love this one to death).
Very nice videos and everything in general👏🏻👏🏻 Now when you did two very long trips with two different bikes (bmw gs and tenere), how would you compare them.. because obviously you have much more experience on these bikes, which are made mostly for long journeys, then some other reviewers on YT. Maybe I will do that. But there is always one outcome : for me personally the Yamaha Tenere is the best bike to travel. 😍

Oh I am looking so forward to Nigeria. But probably will be a long time, we probably have to export the bikes soon because our custom document run out. 😭😭😭

What type of tires do you have on your GSA? Are you happy with them? Do they have good grip both on gravel roads and asphalt?
Heidenau Scout K60. Not over happy with them, they can do some miles but are very hard and slippery. Couldn't get my hands on the tires I wanted in time as our departure was so spontanious. Will do a big tire review at one point as this question comes up so often and there are just so many tires that I tried and have an opinion about that it's too long for here. :)
Love your videos and your adventurous spirit. Have you still got the travel protection you got from Benin in west Africa? Just being curious. 😉
It's unfortunately in my motorcycle n africa - didn't take it with me. But I think the spirits were with us on this journey too! :)

@@m.d9726 have to admit though that I quite enjoyed the GS on all the beautiful alpine roads in Switzerland and Italy this year. It’s a good bike as long as you don’t go difficult off-road or end up in a place with no bmw Motorrad Dealers who can fix your keyless ride or all the technical stuff. 😁

I know this video is about Norway but it was so interesting to see the visa process for your initial plans to go to Africa. I feel we are so spoiled that between Alaska to Patagonia we don't require any visas. I badly want to ride through Africa after seeing all your videos so will make a note to check the visa requirements ... meanwhile can't wait to follow your journey up north :-)
