REACHING AFRICA: From Germany to Morocco. Europes best roads // EPS 1

- Who wants to go around Africa, first has to get to Africa. Before the big West Africa adventure could start, I had to ride from Europe/Germany to Morocco. The late delivery of my new motorcycle, a Yamaha Tenere 700, delayed my trip for weeks - so I had only two weeks left to ride from Munich in Germany to Dakhla in Morocoo/Western Sahara crossind Switzerland, Italy, France, Andorra, Spain and Morocco. More than 5000 Kilometers within 14 days. In this episode I will introduce my travel partner - and some of the most scenic offroad routes in Europe, such as: Strada dell'Assietta, Colle du Parpaillon, the old smuggler roads to Andorra from Tor close to the Pyrenees and part of the TET (Trans European Trail) in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range in Spain. In Morocco we visited Casablanca, Essaouira, Sidi Ifni and ended this transport ride in Dakhla. Join the journey to West Africa!

yes, loved it! and there are many of them, we took another one to spain where there was really nobody besides us (Tor I think is quite big for 4x4 fans)
@@Got2Go I've done it with a Kawasaki KLX, we had the bikes in the back of a van and drove for two weeks in the mountains around Andorra.

Hello Lee I'm the same USA Cerebral Palsied PhD guy who was 82 when we first wrote but I'll be 85 in 3 weeks ?). There was a 6.8 quake in Moroccan a few days ago and it's a national tragedy on top of COVID and so much else. Obviously you missed that and we're glad for your continued safety, good health and positive attitude. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Thwy are inspiring.

That’s great! The material of the beginning of the westafrica trip is not that great and I just learned how to edit - but I think it gets much better from Mauritania on. It was such a great journey!

Great first episode! Promising. But images are volatile (flüchtig), they pass quickly and fly away. I love words and books. Therefor I am patiently awaiting your second book. Your book 'Sag dem Abenteuer' ,is a great piece of work. It stands - on my bookshelf - next to Ted Simon and Robert Pirsig. Great travel Literature with a big 'L'!
That is very true. I still as well have the opinion that the best stories happen when you dont put a camera between you and other people or situations - I dont like to do that anyways thats why this episodes are more an "impression". Maybe there will come a new book when i really drove around africa - I collected already a lot of stories to be told that cant been shown here because I simply didnt record them .

It's a shame your journey was cut short in Morocco. There is so much natural beauty you missed that I think you would have really liked. Good luck with your journey!
The journey continued after Morocco through 12 countries in westafrica - this was only the „transport“ ride. So stay tuned - the next episode will be from dakhla to Mauritania!

Amazing, beautiful, and breathtaking views. Looks like a lot of incredible riding conditions. And I absolutely loved the narration. A lot of really great info. I follow several other adventure riders, as I hope to get a chance to do my own round the world trip one day. I would recommend something else than solid lateral cases to avoid leg fractures in enduro or trial sections. It often happens.. Cool adventure tho !!
Yes I have been thinking about that a lot - somehow the solid cases still feel more safe for theft when locking them but regarding safety you are completely right!!!
The lone rider semi rigids which collapse brilliantly come with a padlock part.for the bag to chassis part you have a steel core locking system.so a alu top box/lone rider / with a back seat top duffel (there are tons of them ) and. Tank locked tank bag would make the ultimate luggage go -to
