- When Megan Peterson was 14, she was raped and sexually assaulted - sometimes inside the church confessional booth - over the course of a year by her parish priest Joseph Jeyapaul.
How is a child supposed to grow up to trust anybody if they’re abused by a teacher/member of church/anybody with authority? Absolutely unforgivable.
Almost 1,700 priests and clergy accused of sex abuse are unsupervised. Why has the Catholic Church taken so long to address child sexual abuse anyway? WE HAVE TO STOP THIS!

Parents need to stop taking their kids to these churches/schools or what not! It’s been proven time and time again that these priests do more harm that good. I’m so sorry this happen to you! You are so brave, tell your story.
Ban all religion
Some of the parents are so gullible and under the spell of of the church. They'd help the priest cover up their own kids abuse.
That's as stupid a comment as not bringing kids to school or sports or the halls of Congress, because of errant leaders in our community. Just be vigilant. Evil has kept all places, high and low.

My wife was in an orphanage in Kentucky in the early sixties. The nuns would take children into a room to meet with a priest. I asked her what they would talk about and she told me, he would put his finger(s) in her. I asked her if she told anyone and she said she very sure the nuns already knew. She still suffers from this at age 66 and was hospitalized at around age 28 because of her breakdown

My daughter was only one of five young ladies that came forward against a young man who had sexually assaulted them.. He ended up in jail for several years and extradited out of the state.. Yes and Amen! These crimes and sins keep happening because few speak up. I was abused by a family member and didn’t dare tell a soul. Last year I was finally able to publish a book about Abuse & Human Trafficking- Victorious Voices Of Abuse by Laura Bratton-Butler. Few ppl realize how painful, hurtful, and devastating sexual abuse is on children and ONLY God can heal this brokenness. I suffer from PTSD and here I am 63 years old and my life feels warped due to Abuse. Praise God for HIS commitment to us because HE is Faithful. God bless you all.
I realize... and it is all connected with colonisation and civilization and beautiful simple lives and places full of nature being turned into a big shopaholic fest. We must slow down and be with children in play and safety and make sure we have time and love and real community (not based on a book of lies written by loads of men over the centuries) in real nature. All the uptight bookery and screens and big houses and fast cars and fancy this and that are not needed. Look to the indigenous people of your land and learn from them... what they have been through and how their cultures kept them healthy for millenia. Horrid diseases thrive on big moving human populations, dirty water, sick thinking and so on... Indigenous people for example across the world had a non sexual version of syphillus, mild, like a bit of a skin rash-nothing to do with sex.... until ancient babylon, greece, pompeii was riddled with it... a slow agonising sexually-dense-population not free happy people, addicted people pretending to be 'civil'... it's modern life grown from rush and wrong treatment of children which causes this horror for children.. diseased beliefs, thinking and behaviours.

I know what you mean. That is my reaction too. What I have to remind myself is that God doesn’t control us. He loves us and is the there for us. He wants us to follow his teachings. If everyone followed his teachings people wouldn’t suffer in the way she has but we are not his puppets and people will still do horrible things. This man clearly did not have love in his heart.

Parents need to educate their children that there are people like this and what to do when faced with this threat. They are not only in churches, they could be at a fast food restaurant, at a scout meeting; they are everywhere. If this young lady had been told about this from the time she was born and given quarterly reminders she probably wouldn't have been a victim.

I studied in convent school when father come to school from out side and stated in school. Our school principal and sisters when to his room for hours long as a kid I could not understand that scenario .

Thank you for sharing your story so honestly. Sexual assault affects women so deeply and unfortunately is very common, especially at this stage in our lives. The trauma dominos into other areas of our lives and hinders our tools and voice to stop any future abuse from happening as well. For me, it is almost a paralysis when confronted with unwanted attention or advances in my adult life. The man who sexually assaulted me when I was 13 was in the same room with me five years later and I didn't even see him, completely blocked him out. The brain and pysche will do crazy things to protect us and it doesn't always look like how society wants it to look
No matter how the best faith, culture, belief is, Humans can make it miserable

I have heard a very plausible theory about why abusive priests are protected by other priests - because the other priests also have hidden sins (such as being a closet homesexual) and don't want to be outed so there is a mutual secret keeping going on!!!

My wife was groomed and raped by Thomas Pyne, a priest at Gonzaga Boys School in Wash DC and she was a 16 year old student at Notre Dame, an adjacent girls’ school. We have learned that he was accused of sex abuse by “multiple” girls. My wife of 46 years is doing wonderfully and we have 2 kids and 7 grandkids.
Very disgusting, but I guess this is where the porn industry gets their ideas from for their adult plots. Very bad. I remember in the early 1990s, a priest was removed from the church for something like this. But it was with several teenage boys and not at our church. But one in Wisconsin that he was.
So many were shuffled to different parishes and the crimes hidden. Needless abuse continued. The church protected their own to the detriment of so many.

I came across a certain man's testimony, his name is James Kawalya. He was taken to the Vatican to be trained to be one of the priests when he grows up at the age of 12. He said it's a church disgusing themselves as children of God, he said in reality it's a cult where you get to know, that indeed there's an entity called Satan. He said for 5 years the priests there continuously raped him that he lost his mind not to satisfy their urges but for some kinda of rituals. Then he was taken to a rehab where they started giving him hard drugs to lose his mind some more. It isn't just the Catholic Church, some other churches and other people from other religions abuse children and other people whilst hiding behind religion cause they know people trust them.
Has he been charged? Good help the church because it's not just in the Catholic Church. Things need to change!
He was charged in 2010 ...but he fled to India...he was extradited back in 2012 to USA...He took plea deal for another molestation case and the deal included financial settlement for this person.
He was sentenced to 1 year in prison but since he had already served that much time in jail while under trial... therefore he was deported back to India.
In 2016 Catholic church tried to reinstate him to priestly duty at a catholic diocese in Southern India.
But his victims in USA filed a federal lawsuit and won thus forcing Catholic Church to not reinstate him.

When I see these sort of video's my blood boils. The reason these things hapen even today is, because the Law's all over the world is too soft. Not to believe what I child says, is harming a child at a very early age, and that child loosing confidence in herself. Do parents not talk to their kids about weirdos?? 14 is too old to be so naive. Start openly talking to your kids about these things. Do not assume they will never encounter it in life. I even talk to my 5 year old about being aware that some people are weirdos. We also have to teach our kids that weirdos can be anywhere.
