    I have that same machine. Picked it up mid February and love it. Definitely very smooth clutching.
    One thing you definitely need to do though is put the wider CanAm fender flares in it. They really help to prevent slinging water and mud all over it.

    I've got a limited (top dog enclosed cab with heat/AC) Defender 6x6 on order coming in late May. Can't wait to have something unique to ride with my son who just got a new Yamaha YZX 1000XTR SS. Totally different machines but I will stay cool, dust free, and music playing on my "living room couch" vehicle while he can outrun me in his noisy beast with dirt in his face. At least I shouldn't get stuck very often with 6 - 30" tires and 82hp and 69 ft lbs of torque, and a winch, of course. Would be cool to wrap in green camo and put "Powerwagon" graphics on it, maybe a Mack bulldog on hood. Can't believe these things are $34,000 to buy. What the heck, I'm 70......might as well burn up some of my kid's inheritance in first class style! (they make more money than I ever did, anyway...lol)

    Agree that technical specs and fancy plastic doesn't matter if the driving experience isn't good.

    Just a few years ago you said the opposite about can am when you praised Polaris, what changed for you from the rzr trail review till this review?

    • @Headupthrottledown
      @Headupthrottledown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I think Can Am has really stepped up there game in the last few iterations of the defender. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Polaris products (I was attempting humour when talking about Polaris design and clutching). I don’t honestly know if I was in the market for a more sport orientated machine that I would necessarily gone can am over Polaris, but comparing the ranger to the defender it seemed like the defender was just a lot more refined than the ranger. Which makes sense, Polaris is always changing and has way more machines in its product line, hence why I think the defender seems more polished. When I was buying my rzr trail it really came down to rzr vs maverick trail. I stated in my original review that everyone I knew who had a Polaris RZR trail loved it and had no issues with it (anecdotal I know) and I simply didn’t know anyone with a maverick trail personally. I feel like my commentary in the original video was more about why buying a small trail machine might be right for you, not so much as a direct comparison between two models. We simply outgrew the RZR trail (I have two kids now) but I still miss it :) it was a great machine and went to a great home! I also needed something that could do some work as well as be fun to ride.
      Thank you so much for watching my videos and engaging it means the world to me!!

    How does the longer wheel base compare to the 2 door vairant?

    • @Headupthrottledown
      @Headupthrottledown  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no experience with this exact model as a 2 door, but my last rzr was a two door and I’ve driven plenty of Polaris rangers in 2 doors. It’s definitely heavier, and less nimble on the trail. But it rides great, and there is so much room for a full family and kids to take along! But I think people who haven’t seen it really need to get an idea of how big it is, my jku isn’t much wider or longer than it :)

    Just my opinion but they still have a lot of work to do on getting there door fitment and sealing of the cab

    • @Headupthrottledown
      @Headupthrottledown  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually noticed that too recently, after I made the video. I think it might be the latch being to far out, going to mess with it this weekend. Please subscribe and I’ll post a fix when I have it :)

      After I got mine I adjusted the doors so they closed tighter for a better seal.
      That being said, I don’t think BRP’s intention was to ever make them automotive grade in terms of weather sealing. After all, they are an off road vehicle. If they ever got to that point you might as well buy a Jeep.
