Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

Thanks Imperialist! Victoria is actually famed in the train enthusiast word of being the ‘home of the electrostar’. But there is some variety on the Southeastern side and I’m glad you like it 😃

So London Victoria. One author described it as the Southern Region's royal terminal because of its closeness to Buckingham Palace. Platform 2 is where special trains depart like the Orient Express and various railtours. I certainly did in 2016 on a nine day railtour, in fact, it was a repeat of the previous year's tour that did not go to plan. Littlehampton is one of many, many destinations directly from this busy terminus.
Thanks for the information uhegbu! I definitely enjoyed my time here and I am greatful to the station staff for allowing me to film 😃 My only wish was that the higher numbered platforms were much more open to natural light, it is very gloomly!

6:19 I wasn't expect the 375/3 doing the Dover Priory via Faversham service oh and btw, the other Ramsgate ones doesn't go via Faversham, I think it goes via Ashford International.
I'm not too familiar with which variants which appear on certain routes. It seemed the 377/5s were stuck to Ashford Int services but the 375 varieties were fairly mixed. I was going to put the 'via' locations on the video but I couldn't get it to look neat.

Hello Mijiturtle, Does my intro/outro count as a negative? On a serious note, I like to keep my videos as organic as possible so that you can hear all the noises. I’m not a huge fan of adding music because from my point of view, I’d like my viewers to experience the video as if they were there themselves which is also the reason I try and be soft with my zooming 😃

3:39 I see a Gatwick Express on the far side
These 387s were operating a southern service to Brighton. There were no Gatwick Express services on this day.

What about Gatwick Express Class 387/2 that terminates at London Victoria. And maybe do London Bridge with the Thameslink Class 700s.
Hi EssexLad, At the time the video was recorded there were no Gatwick Express services due to COVID. Although the Gatwick trains were being used on Brighton services to allow other southern services to be extended. I have two Rush Hour London Bridge videos on my channel (before and after Station refurb), I still find the before rush hour video amazing, the track was constantly in use by trains!
@@StarlifeStudios Ah ok. Not to worry. Plus the Class 377/5 that Southeastern inherited them from Thameslink do look the same as the Class 375.

Thanks Alex, I didn’t ask for a permit here because I was told that they tend to be relaxed about it on the Southeastern side although I did make one of the dispatchers aware before walking to the location. Thanks for watching 😃

Could do this location again but the southern side

What happened on the track at 1:26 ?
Hi Joe, this is the third rail which the train takes its power from. The sparking is common in areas of complicated track because of the amount of ‘gaps’ which are present. The trains are designed to cope with this so it is purely visible and I think they look pretty cool especially because it had rained recently!

Do you need permission to film their or do you just walk up without asking
When I visited, I signed in with the station customer service desk. Most Network Rail operated stations (like Victoria) have contractor sign in points and as long as its not peak hours, they are happy to grant you permission. Network Rail has a dedicated Railway Enthusiasts webpage page which has more information about the use of tripods etc. Thanks Alfie 😃
@@StarlifeStudios thank you. It’s just I’ve noticed i always get jobsworthed at the London stations but now I know you have to sign in.
No problem at all. Even after you sign in, you may still get staff bothering you, but, as long as your nice and explain that you’ve signed in and aware of railway rules, you’ll be fine. I would normally say that you would be fine not to ask at smaller stations but the UK’s terrorism threat level has increased so staff are on higher alert. Have fun!
