About the little balloon on Tom Nook's DIY desk: it's not a detail to see, but it's easier to make a 3D model with the logo on the two sides. It's an original setting and it's a little harder to make it only on one side. So they just "wrap around" the item with the texture and that's it. Because this isn't matter, we couldn't see the other logo on the back :)
God, I hurt my neck nodding so hard when you talked about the insane lack of buildings or a city island compared to New Leaf. That and the lack of upgrades for Nook's is something I will never understand. The game is poorer for it. (I. Want. The. Roost... and Gracie). Loved this video. It's so good to see all those bits we usually don't. Especially when you messed with Resident Services. It's so weird that Wilbur stands on the right and then teleports to the left as soon as the leaving animation starts. I saw that in a different boundary break video and it's so confusing XD

I'm fairly certain that the stairs in Nook's Cranny just leads to where Timmy and Tommy live. That sort of thing happens a lot with shops like that. I doubt we'll ever be able to go up there.

Could you imagine if they suddenly added a 360 cam. Island creators would have to readjust their entire method of operation. It’d be chaos for the first few weeks and then boom; we’d be back to having gorgeous islands, this time with a 360 view.
9:39 To save space. The Resident Services has 2 interiors, but the interiors load on the same map...with the one being loaded depending on which one you have unlocked. This way, they can save the interior as a set of instructions on what to place where rather than having two fully built maps taking up double the space when you're only intended to be able to see one or the other at any given time. Once the map is "built" the game saves it as the current Resident Services map just as it would autosave the interior of a home after you change it & leave the map. TL;DR So the game has enough room to load the bigger interior from a smaller file instead of having two fully formed maps ready at all times for one location.

In Animal Crossing: New leaf you are able to have a 360° vew of the museum. In the bug exhibit you can see the trees are not fully modled but this is the only exhibit you can only not have a full 360° veiw. I think it might be because it doesn't want you to know about the trees...but you can see them from the side. Also the tree you plant at the beginning of New leaf playes the theme tune if you sit on the wall.
A lot of these features are for one of three reasons. 1. Easier to just do a wrap around (DIY balloon) 2. Adds to the environment. 3. A part of the build that was then cut to add in later as an update feature. (Doors, Ladders, Black box voids behind a wall. There for stand-ins to let the devs know that’s where the thing is gonna be placed.) :) Hope this helps the curiosity~
So wildbur is there bc when you go to someone elses island / ticket wilbur is in the cutscene, its also noted that wilbur gets teleported for the cutscene, so i guess hes there to wait for the cutscene (i do not own these, shesez explained everything in his vid)
In Animal crossing New leaf there was kinda of a expansion to the Able sisters shop label (I think it was label) sold accessories attached to the clothing part
actually in city folk one of the old animal crossing game you could go to the city and there is a secret that if you stay up late enough or wake up early you could get silver tools from resety’s brother and there is also a second floor of the nooks crany (i know this bcz before i got my nintendo switch i used to play city folk a lot)
How the game is programmed? All of this is merely speculation but probably if player is sitting then summon Nook rather than checking for a trigger in each chair. Also the walls are only rendered from one side to save up space and performance because why render something you cannot see so the black bars are maybe there because the player can go to the left and right with the camera and it would be irritating to be able to see trough a wall. Also it's most likely normal that you can push villagers away when they in an animation. Wilbert is already there so he doesn't have to be loaded in. The back area of the airport is rendered because again you can see a portion of it with your regular camera if you go to the left/right side. Also there is no unnecessary attention to detail each artist has to model a specific object on their own so of course it's in their best interest to add some detail to their work. Not sure about the black box in Nook's Cranny because it could be just a box with a shader that adds a shadow effect to objects inside the box to add visual depth to the objects where there is none so this box can imitate something like a black tunnel door because it's supposed to look like a transition between this room and the other room so it's a dark tunnel. You can see this artificial shadow effect when you look at 7:07. If the shadow wasn't there it would look odd and break the illusion of a transition area. Edit: Maybe I was wrong. Most likely the room is divided into two big triggers each covering half of the room except for the adb and the chest area. The left side could be for Nook and the other for Isabelle so the designers would have more room to place the items. There could be other ways like integrating a radius to initiate a conversation with the nearest npc when player sits. What do you think? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
