      @TheSpencer033 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't fly though? They hover off the ground a foot/couple of feet or so. they aren't like Eldar tanks that can literally fly. Also, the tech has existed before for the Imperium in the past. Custodes/SoS used to have grav-rhinos, but they "no longer exist" apparently. So there is a precedence for the tech/use of said tech, but they should have been brought back for use in 40k (both lore and TT) before Primaris were a thing. Would have made the transition less jarring I guess.

In the last two decades the only armies that have seen noticeable change are Tyranids, Space Marines, Chaos (a little bit) and Necrons. Classic core armies like Eldar, Orcs, Imperial Guard (i know they have new names) are basically running models from 3rd edition in the early 2000s

      I'll admit that the Primaris characters tend to look pretty good. But the troops looks really, really bad, and the vehicles (maybe save for the bikes) are just inexcusable. Real Marines have so much more variety and character, and I disagree with this guys insistence that they are bad models just because of the way the legs are posed. We've seen really decorated Marine kits through the Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and Dark Angels, so we know that they can look like. If GW did a minor scale to the real Marines (like lengthening the torsos a bit and widening the hips) and gave them a little more detail while still keeping that look, those kits would look amazing. This guy's foolish idea that poses are what makes Primaris Marines better is ridiculous.

    The worst part about primaris is they are a bunch of vanilla units hammered in non codex chapters, GW could easily have rescaled marines just like they did with chaos ones and nothing would have happened, I have survived two rescalations before but intead, they decided to create the awful primaris fluff and lots of strange grav things and this is what brings my conclussion:
    GW never ever will fully substitute the old marines with primaris, maybe new improved kits or maybe changing things and making every unit and vehicle primaris compatible, why?
    Some units and vehicles are so iconic and even all non codex chapters have a ton of exclusive troops and things: discontinuing things like terminators, thunderwolves, sanguinary guard or way old fan favorites like wolf guard, assault marines or even the humble rhino is a suicidal move for their star range

It doesn't have to be this stupid, bestest ever super special betterest Marines crap with their totally not utter heresy grav vehicles and sudden influx of armaments, nor does it have to be Robot Gilligan pissing off the Legions even more by forcing his Codex crap in people's faces. • @1krani
      @1krani 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see them replacing the Rhino. Between Razorbacks, Vindicators, Predators and Whirlwinds, the low-parts Rhino template has far too many variants to justify discontinuing it. I mean, all they gotta do to make the variants is add an extra sprue or two. Compare that to the Repulsor, which only has 3 variants and a lot more parts to it.

    once the legacy marines are gone primus marines will just be called marines. rogue trader marines were smaller than second edition marines. and when the marines were updated to the sprue kit in third edition they were slightly bigger still.
    the land raider looks completely different in the second edition and about halfway through the third edition when the current rino chassy and land raider were introduced. i do like the idea of transports deploying smoke when the troops disembark.

      Yeah, we survived the transition from beaky to Mk7 armour so the Primaris releases probably won't end the world. I don’t think they’ll ever abandon classic marines. In fact, I reckon when they eventually bring Lion El’Johnson in 40k they’ll likely redo a bunch of Firstborn kits (the First Born Primarch leading a firstborn revitalisation, it would be thematic and fluff, what with his distaste for Guilliman). Also from a purely financial perspective, the Firstborn kits are still some of GW’s bestsellers and once GW gets a whole heap of new Marine fans through the Primaris, why wouldn’t they go back and get some of that sweet nostalgia cash? Also the Horus Heresy game is still being supported by Forge World which is entirely classic marines and they’ve shown their commitment to bring back older material with the upcoming Old World setting, I can’t see the OG marines going anytime soon.

      The problem with the "but Horus Heresy/Forge World" argument is that GW doesn't give a shit about Forge World. They never have. If Corporate decides to move in a new direction, they'll just can the Horus Heresy line.
      Though pointless wishlisting, I'd love to see real Space Marines get a revival. Maybe Primaris Marines turn out to be a big failure and can't be produced en masse, meaning real Marines have to keep coming. Or maybe real Marines becomes the veterans of the chapter, kind of like how we use Mk 3-5 power armour models for Vets. Or maybe there is a soft civil war among the Astartes and half of the chapters (maybe led by some defiant Primarchs, or maybe not) tell Robot Gilligan to stuff it and go home. Actually, that last one sounds good. Primaris Marines bring too much hope to the Imperium, and we know that there can be no hope in this universe. A soft civil war among the Imperium would further shake up the setting and blur the lines beyond total loyalist and total heretic. After all, there are no "good guys" in 40k.

I don't know what I was more in shock over, walking into the legendary Paul Sawyer or how amazing that kit was. I have a Rogue Trader landraider, it's good for the time, but compared to new kit, it's bad, it's small, the weapons snap off by breathing on it, there's zero fine detail and it's been badly painted by a 16 year old me. The current landraider is one kit I will never bitch about needing replacing, though more dakka is always appreciated.
    And a nice touch on the kit, especially given the age of the kit, the front doors on the landraider are hinged, so opening one opened the other. It's a little detail only those with OCD notice, but it's still nice to see.

    The new Landraider looks better than the first one. (and both are equally expensive)
    I was playing at a time were dreadnoughts were called Cybots (and you had 4 different to choose from), the Tau were speculated to be mercanaries for 40k armies and the first ever produced Landraider hit the stores. (and then I met my wife to be and paused for 20 years)
    They have added so much to the game, changed so much in the overall design (even the Cataphractii or Tartaros Terminator armor did not exist), so I am not mad about them given a nearly 40 years old army a refresh to their design.
    Also I like how they included the multi use of the "Dreadnought chassis" of the redemtor.
    Without the sarkophagus its piloted directly. And later it can be converted to be the last rest for said pilot.

    I wosh they'd just leave all the tank alone. I get it, they need resizing. But the new Tanks are just meh. For me, you can't beat a Predator tank, a reasonable amount of firepower without going too over the top, but most importantly, Tracks. Tank Tracks are so much more awesome than whatever the new primaris tanks have.

      The really shit part is The new tanks are even smaller in scale than the old ones, Well atleast the repulsor its doors are smaller than the Land raider doors and its slightly smaller in general, so much for scale

    I think we already have the Primaris Land Raider - what about the Repulsor Executioner? Sorry for my English if I messed up with something.
