    As an art piece, this model is spectacular, and the building and painting on display here is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I'd never dream of getting one though, not at any price. I'm always motivated in my modelling and painting by how I might use what I'm working on in a game, and I've never enjoyed playing wargames on a scale where a titan would be a viable choice (at 40K scale).

It really shows the dedication and interest you put into it and I think there can be no better way to assemble and paint such a God-Engine than the way you just did. Not at all, when the original Adeptus Titanicus was done they were eighty something feet tall (possibly 86), and any changes by people outside of the original creative team are at best fan-fiction. For comparison the Star Wars at-at walkers were supposed to be 74 feet tall.
      I see a lot of people online talking as if Titans are thousands of feet tall because of some illustrations but to me these pic's should be viewed in a similar way to some of the old King Kong posters that had him bigger than the Empire state building.

      @@jprp999 I'm pretty sure that Warlord-class titans were some like, 30 something meters? 32 or something like that, which would be just over 100 feet in height. Impressive work, but what I find it strange there's not put in more effort by Forgeworld to the SCALE of the different models - in the fine details. They all just look like an upscaled version of each smaller model. I mean - Why not keep the original 'feeling' from the miniature models (foot soldiers) and detail all the way up - Like in model planes/tanks. Then the Titans would truely look huge and not just like upscaled smaller models.

    Doesn't painting and then gluing mean that you don't glue together the plastic pieces but only the paint of each part? I would worry that the paint doesn't stick to the plastic as well as the glue. Or even better melting the contact points with heat or chemically and bonding the pieces together for good. Paint just doesn't feel like it should be a structural part of the model.

    • @Sup3rSaiy3n
      @Sup3rSaiy3n  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you’re getting at. I’ve built and painted it and it is structurally sound all these years later. Don’t think I should have specifically outlined that I filed and scored the pieces at their contact points or didn’t paint the skeletal part of the legs before glueing just so that you could understand and avoid nitpicking.
      I’ve built hundreds of FW models with over 2,700 videos on this channel. Thanks for watching and your comment.

    The problem I have with these models is they are WAY too small. A proper warlord titan would be 3 times the height of this with a bridge more akin to the starship enterprise not a tiny 3 man compartment. It's a beautiful model and it's scaled for the table not for canon.

      Nope. Ever since adeptus Titanicus in the 80s titans have been listed as this size. Warhounds ~12 metres, reavers ~18 metres, warlords ~32 metres, Emperors ~45 metres tall.
      Any examples of bigger sizes have been exaggerated artwork or exaggerated novels. The games techspecs always had their sizes as above.

      Or the Abominatus, was looking at a size comparison chart and found it hard to imagine what it would look like as a model, maybe chair sized? But an uncomfortable seat to use unfortunately 😧

    Beautiful. Truly. I REALLY appreciate your attention to detail. The hand painting is awesome. Spraying something of that magnitude is just plain slovenly. Great job. (Another reason I couldn’t understand why people complained about your tutorial on EZ build marines!.. you OBVIOUSLY know what you’re doing. All one had to do is LISTEN to you during your posts. Again, to me; it’s glaringly obvious you’re experienced with modeling/painting. Thanks for showing! Enjoy the weekend

    What a beautiful model I feel inspired now.
    I've been reading the novels for about 4 years now and I still haven't gotten around to building my own Army if you can believe that.
    I have however built a World War II Army from another game
    Kind of a Funny Story when I read helsreach I didn't know that it was from a game at first.

    Forgive my ignorance as I'm only just starting to look at the hobby but what point threshold would you consider bringing a model like this into? Do your opponents lose a bit of heart when this guy drops on the table? All things being equal they would have enough to face it I imagine.

  • @LeHeuZaHer
    @LeHeuZaHer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    God what I’d give to have £1250 laying around to buy one of these, I stopped playing 40k years ago but this would still make a fantastic display piece, as well as be such an exciting project to construct and paint!
    I guess I’ll have to stick within my budget and buy a warhound instead 😂 but one can dream!

  • @OneTwoMilsim
    @OneTwoMilsim 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would recommend building in sub-assemblies and painting rather than painting each piece separately. Personally I've had to do a lot of work just constructing my warlord. Drilling, sanding, heating and shaping, filling gaps, clamping and epoxying. There are ways you can easily assemble it the majority of the way and still have ample access to anywhere on the model.

    Sad part is you start getting into Titans you may as well just buy a 3D printer , you make a warlord and you're almost in to break even territory.

  • @pitiedvod

    Is it wrong that now I just want to see someone's face when they place a Warlord class titan out in a game and laugh gleefully at the cries of the others and than someone has a an Imperator class Emperor titan made and the thing stands 5 ft tall. Titans are such fun.

    the rize of the 3d resin printer will truly and i mean TRULY murderous greed of the monster GW
    come on over 1000 pounds for a model, well a 3d printer that is resin ultra high resolution printer is only worth a little over 500 dollars and a resin printed titan will indistinguishable from a GW titan so not the best future if you know what i mean .

    • @Sup3rSaiy3n
      @Sup3rSaiy3n  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dragon Kxk If it was that easy to do it would have been done already. I have yet to see fully 3D printed GW models let alone these highly detailed resin models. So I think I will wait to see it when it happens.

      @@Sup3rSaiy3n perhaps but a quick youtube search gives this theory a lot of credit besides 3d printing is in its infancy, besides future is a bitch when it comes to fucking people over lol.
