Cool same

ey bro, let jimmy know were on for the barbaque next week.
Fun fact: Not all renditions of Wendigos have deer skulls! It’s actually thought that the deer skull part seems to be a more recent development!
Yeah. The original windigo is often portrayed as a giant, starving cannibal with a literal hearth of ice. It sometimes is an evil spirit posessing people to kill and eat their families. I'm doing a "vorwissenschaftliche Arbeit" (pre-scientific work) on windigo, so if anyone knows any original tales, they would be greatly appreciated. I do know, that saying their name is kind of a taboo, but still. If you know something and are willing to share it, then please go ahead.
They are scarier than most give them credit for
I mean it's not a new development in it's mythology, it's just that the first popular portrayals of them in pop culture made up the deer skull thing and that became popular.
@@paleobolt8069 its mainly stevin kings fault with his illustration for pet cemitary
Wendigos are just humans that are okay with eating people. No deer horns.

The fact the kraken wasn't included means one of two things:
1. The kraken isn't scary (it is).
2. The kraken is real.
It's very possible due to recent scientific discoveries of slightly or very big squids
Kraken was most likely just a massive squid that surfaced up
@@user-hm2fq1lz5wthey’re literally called Giant Squids. The Kraken definitely exists
@@user-hm2fq1lz5wNEEEERRRDDDDDD
It is real. But once we prove the existence of and scientifically classify a monster (in this case the giant squid, and its larger cousin the colossal squid) it ceases to be a monster and becomes a creature.
As a person who just recently experienced a magnitude 7 earthquake. I think Nightmarchers in Hawaii, with the most active volcanoes in the world, are seismic waves or earthquake sounds. We have experience this drum rolls and marching sound days after the big one. People from different cities and municipalities posted this phenomenon in different social media platform and was confirmed it was not just a hallucination due to trauma of the earthquake. A local seismologist explained those are earthquake sounds caused by seismic waves.
I heard some skinwalkers have human eyes too while in animal forms which sounds scary
Uncanny valley in full effect
The Mongolian death worm honestly just sounds like a sand viper, to me. Which, to be fair, seems like a pretty good name for a sand viper.
I was thinking that, it sounds like someone got attacked by a snake and really misconstrued what they saw attack them. But when put that way it's kind of cool that the death worm might be an actual animal, even if it isn't a worm
I am mongolian 🇲🇳🇲🇳🇲🇳
What scares me most about Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) is how common they are. There are tons of similar folklore creatures around the world that could be seen as the same creature or close relatives. And not all these stories describe them as particularly friendly.
If bigfoot was real I really wonder how old it would be I remember hearing about it when I was younger I'm 22 now lol
apparently they're called Yeti in indo-nepali culture

@@TrustMeBroOfficialLa Llarona is pronounced "La Yarona" :)
As a hispanic person, I grew up with La Llorona, It was my bedtime story; I’m pretty sure there are different versions, the version I grew up with went like : There was once a woman, who had 2 children and a husband, the husband loved her very much at first but soon fell out of love, he only showed love to his children and the woman became resentful/jealous of her children. Then The woman and her children went to go visit the husband but saw the husband cheat on her, in a fit of rage she took her children to a lake/river and drowned them, the children cried for help but the woman didn’t listen. when she realized what she was doing, the children had passed and they floated down the river, she tried to drown herself but god said she couldn’t go to heaven for her sins and the way she has to pay for her sins is that she has to live on as a ghost. now she searches for her children while crying “Mis hijos!/My children!” and she confuses other children for her own and drowns them, when she realizes those weren’t her children she continues her search for her own children. (La Llorona= Lah-yo-rona)
What so she can drown them again? 😂😂
@@ronin8741 yuh ‼️‼️‼️
I’m also from Latin America, and in the version I’ve heard La Llorona was left wandering earth because she couldn’t get to the afterlife without bringing her children’s souls with her. That’s why she’s still searching for them to this day
Oh yo I know that one!
Oh and also, when you hear her cry, the farther away she sounds, the closer she is :)
one thing to add about Skinwalkers, they are petty and vindictive, so it doesn’t take much to get targeted and if you are targeted you will have one persistent stalker on you that has the intelligence of a person
When I was little, my grandpa taught me to always carry a silver knife in my boot to keep away wendigoes. I think he was trying to scare me into keeping myself safe with a knife, and it sure as hell worked.
the wendigo is actually kind of based in reality. there's a mental illness that commonly inflicts people who are snowed in with limited food that makes them start craving human flesh and start hallucinating
They’d believe they are a wendigo because of the legend^^ it was only seen in native tribes and (supposedly) has not happened in 50+ years
Oh, it reminds me of Kuru, a disease caused by a prion that can be found in an infected human brain, so people can get it if they eat a human brain.
Mental illness? What? You mean the combination of extreme starvation mixed with the hallucinations hypothermia creates?
Do wendigo live in Alaska?
Genuine question wouldn’t you call that survival instinct? Like the miracle in the Andes, they had zero food and eventually resorted to cannibalism (read about it it’s very interesting)
There are probably other comments about this but La Llorona is pronounced La Yorona because in Spanish, a double L is pronounced the same as an English Y sound. Great video by the way.
Oh trust me bro, there a LOT of comments about it 😂 thank you!
@@TrustMeBroOfficial I figured as much😂
"Ll" isn't pronounced like "Y" in English, it doesn't even make sense. It's a very specific sound Romance languages have that's difficult to explain to native English speakers on how to pronounce, it's not a single letter
@@MW_Asura Exactly, that's why I simplified it so it could be understood easier.
@@MW_Asurafine, it's pronunced like in "zhuzh". obviously describing it as a single letter is an easier way to explain. beside there are regions in mexico that pronunce it as a "Y".
People have probably already said this but I'll say it anyway. Two quick corrections Wendigos didn't just possess anyone, only those who had already done a little bit of cannibalism, and while I like the design the Deer skull thing is completely missing from the actual mythology, they were actually just described as gaunt humans that, depending on the exact story are sometimes particularly large and sometimes have a literal heart of ice that to kill them must be destroyed.
Oh, so THAT is why the Wendigo in the Shin Megami Tensei games uses ice spells, I thought it was because forests are cold and rain deer or something
I thot that you had to use fire and burn it's heart to kill a wendigo
The way he draws the wendigo, makes me want to hug it.
I feel like Jr Research, Good Enough, Trust Me Bro, and Sam O’Nella Academy are like the best fearsome foursome.
The windigo will always be scary man, specially when you factor in how real it could be
Same as Leshy and Witches from the forests in Slav countries :S
Wendigos are just cannibals, they are real,
As a hawaiian local, thank you for mentioning this! I once went to a spot where it was known to have nightmarcher stories with it. We hiked and swam in the rough ocean it came with. You see marchers, just play dead.
One time i was walking my dog and he usually barks at deer, and we come across a deer on our trail not a buck, and not only does he not bark but he refuses to walk past it. so im like ok were turning around and going home and it followed me for a lil. i legit thought it was a skinwalker lmao that night it was hard to sleep.
Deer eat meat when they’re hungry enough and it was probably planning to eat your dog
we actually have a lot of cool folklore around here, with my favourote being ghosts carrying around boundary stones as punishment for moving them during live to steal land for themselfs.
Also a lot of weird beings similar to ghouls, fea and just magic beings in general.
My dad has a story of La llorona he heard her after a earthquake in Guatemala in 1973 he said they had everyone staying in camps due to the magnitude of the earthquake and that night in his tent like 2-3 am he woke up to the neighborhood dogs going craaazy then he he heard it , her wailing he said she sounded far away but its said if she sounds far its because shes very near and if she sounds close shes actually far away
That’s scary!
There’s another story about wendigos, if you eat human flesh whether you are starving or not the spirit will come and turn you into a wendigo.
A native chief was once possessed and said these words:
“I look upon these children like small moose and long to eat them” before he begged that he be killed.
here in pakistan we have the 'sarkata' (the headless). my aunt used to tell me stories of a headless creature who'd roam city streets at night and snatch away people who were outside their homes. They're said to be EXTREMELY fast and eat human flesh. Hearing about them was terrifying as a kid. (although i never figured out how it could eat someone without a head, but ig that's why its mythical)
Wow!
let me guess. She's dead, so you can't ask from her?
@@Dahaka-rd6tw she IS dead and i cant ask her but the fact that you commented that is extremely creepy
@@auraezahra I'm sorry. It was first thing I thought when you said you never knew how headless boogeymen are meant to eat people, meaning you can't ask from her the answer.
Anyway. I'm sorry
@@Dahaka-rd6tw its okay. no worries
For anyone who’s not scared of Bigfoot, I highly recommend looking into the Florida-specific variety, “The Skunk Ape”. The most prolific photo was proven to be a hoax, but since it looked like it was taken right behind my house (fun fact, it was taken about an hour’s drive away from my childhood home), boy did it give me some childhood trauma when out amongst the palm fronds and Spanish moss at night!
That photo is horrifying.
Nobody has proved it to be a hoax.
My mom said she once encountered La llorona when she was 15 in Mexico and she managed to run away but she described her as a floating crying woman and not being able to see her feet and she is very fast.
As a Polynesian I appreciate you covering the night marchers one thing i’ll mention too is some versions of the tale say that, “if you whistle at night, you are summoning the Hukai'po, aka the Night Marchers.” Just a cool addition. Love the content!

Skinwalkers are true hunters with the body of a beast and the mind of a man
these two together make them the most feared hunters
killing one would be hell but with today's technology there is a fighting chance it could be killed
To appreciate Bigfoot’s spookiness, imagine experiencing the movie Willow Creek or Ron Moorehead’s story of going hunting with a few friends and a whole tribe of Bigfoots came upon them at night and started screaming and shouting at them when you never even considered them to be real
4:17 if you are near water and you hear someone in distress, you should probably get help or something, not assume it’s a cryptid lol
LOL! True, imagine you're at the beach on the sunny day, there's a kid yelling for help and you're all like "idk probably a ghost trying to drown me"
If it just kills you, that isn't too bad as far as fear for me, but if its some sort of curse involved with the death, thats different. People die from silly stuff all the time. If it messes with your crossing over etc, that is the time I would shake in my boots. And if you're able to potentially kill it, that also makes it less scary for me. I would imagine said creature would actually have similar fears of death and the unknown, rather than the creatures who can't experience it or have already gone through it. But great vid, time to find that sub button!
The scariest creature has to be the student debt u take on without any true sense of responsibility till it's too late, scary af on god

@@TrustMeBroOfficial I got one creepy creature. Pontianat, also known as Kuntilanak or Langsuyar from Indonesia and Malaysia. It is a vampiric ghost of a woman who died during childbirth and haunts the earth, hunting children or men. She's a banshee-like flying revenant that kinda looks like Sadako from Japanese Ring movies, except that she also has long claws. Using these claws she tears your belly open and eats your organs once she has caught you. If you hear hear sudden loud ghostly moan in night, DON't run away so that sound starts to fade away. You see, If pontiana'ss noise sounds to be close, she's actually far away BUT if it sounds like coming far away then Pontianak is near by.
