Umibozu sounds terrifying, and not just because of its size. There's something about the darkness and lack of recognizable features that makes it super creepy to me.

Probably the scariest creature(s) here in the Philippines, in my opinion, are the Nangangatok (door knockers). Three mysterious figures that appear to be human, but their faces are covered by robes that they wear. They knock on doors late at night and if they decide to knock on yours they would do so all night, and if you open it, you would see no one, however this means that they have already cursed you with death, disease, and bad omen. The only way to avoid them is by looking outside your door through a peephole or a window when they are knocking in which case they would stop and move on to another house.

As one representing Sweden I have a few of mythological creatures from both swedish and scandinavian folklore I want to share here!
Näcken/Nokken: A shapeshifting creature that lives in lakes and rivers and his most common form he's usually seen in is a young handsome man and he usually plays a violin but can also play a harp. He usually lures in children and women to drown them but sometimes would teach those who wants to be better at playing the violin in the cost of usually a black cat or a drop of one's own blood, there is even a song he can play that will make humans dance until they are just a bunch of jumping heads.
Gloson: It's a giant pig/boar that has basically a saw on it's back to run inbetween the legs of people and cut them up in half if one is unlucky enough to meet it.
Mylning: A ghost child or baby that never got baptised before they got killed by their mothers. Anyone who comes across one would end up having to be forced to carry the child to a nearby cementary but the child gets heavier and heavier and the mylning would end up killing them. They also either just want to have a name, a normal funeral or revenge on their mothers.
Pesta: Basically the plague as a person and Pesta is always seen as a old woman with a black cloak and either a broom or a rake depending on where she is. If she has a rake that means that some people will survive, but if she has a broom that means everyone will die.

Hey, representing Brazil here, I have a few of our mythological creatures I’d like to add here
Boitatá: it’s said that boitatá is the protector of the Amazon rainforest, and he has the shape of some kind of snake on fire. It’s said just looking into his eyes is enough to drive someone crazy or even kill them. Boitatá only goes after people who do harm to the forest, so, if you don’t mess with anything, you’re fine
Cuca: it’s like our version of Baba Yaga, except that she’s half alligator and doesn’t have any good sides.
Yara: it’s said Yara is a mermaid who lives in the Amazon river. She lures men with her voice and drowns them.
Boto Cor de Rosa: “the pink dolphin”, this one is not so creepy but I find it kinda cool. According to the legend, this pink dolphin can turn into a handsome man, some versions say it’s during a specific festivity and some say it’s during the full moons. He seduces women and impregnates them, just to then turn back into a dolphin and go back to the river. It kind of matches the statement you made about lots of mythical creatures coming from real life experiences. People probably made the legend of the pink dolphin to explain “unexpected” pregnancies.
(A fun fact about this one is that the pink dolphin is an animal that actually exists. Just search for “Amazon river dolphin”. A not so fun fact is that, because of this legend, the pink dolphin has been hunted down for many years, and now is considered an endangered species)

It's a story about a woman who married a man but later discovered that she was infertile and in her grief she would turn into a horrible ghoul with bloodshot eyes and skinny limbs. She would go out every night looking for little children to devour or go grave digging looking the corpses of diseased children.

Hello! I love your videos and i've been watching for a long while now, i would love to recommend a mythical creature!
Teke teke, a Japanese urban legend about the ghost of a schoolgirl who is said to have fallen onto a railway line under the overpass, where her body was cut in half by a train. She is a vengeful spirit, who lurks in urban areas and around train stations at night. Since she no longer has a lower body, she travels on her hands, dragging her upper torso and making a scratching or "teke teke"-like sound, produced either by her elbows or the end of her bisected body scraping the ground. If she encounters an individual, she will chase them and slice them in half at the waist, killing them in such a way that mimics her own disfigurement (Off of wiki lol)
I think this mythical creature is scary as so i thought i should recommend :)

i have a few ideas for the next video:
    Bai Ze (China)
A supernatural beast from Chinese mythology, the bai ze (“white marsh”) resembles a white ox with six horns and nine eyes - three on its head and three on its broad sides. Though its appearance can give kids nightmares, it’s actually considered a good omen and symbol of good luck, only appearing in countries where the leader is wise and virtuous. It can also speak human languages and is believed to have had an encounter with Huang Di, the Yellow Emperor of China.
    Chimera (Greece)
In Greek mythology, the chimera is a three-headed, fire-breathing hybrid monster with the head and body of a lion, the head of a goat on its back and a tail that ends with a head of a snake. The legendary beast is the child of Typhoeus, the mightiest and deadliest monster, and Echidna, a half-snake, half-woman creature. Ancient Greek and Roman art have often shown this beast being slain by the hero Bellerophon while riding the winged horse Pegasus.
    Alp (Germany)
Originating from German folklore, the alp is a malevolent, vampiric spirit that has the ability to shape-shift into cats, dogs, snakes, butterflies and pigs. This male demon appears in the nightmares of men, women, and children, and in the old days, people believed alps caused sleeping problems, such as sleep apnea, sleep paralysis, and sleep walking. Unfortunately, it only resides in dreams, making it almost impossible to kill.
    Banshee (Ireland)
The bearer of unfortunate news, the banshee (bean-sidhe means ‘faerie woman’) is a fairy from Irish folklore that wails outside a home to warn the imminent death of a family member. She’s also depicted as an old, deathly woman with a pale face covered by a veil. Despite her spooky appearance, apparently, she means well and foretells death to give other family members a chance to prepare. But whatever her intentions are, we think no one would like a visit from her anytime soon.

One cool piece of Inuit folklore is the Akhlut. By day, it is a normal Orca, but at night, it gains wolflike arms and legs to go onto land, basically it’s a Orca Werewolf. Its one of the scariest werewolf variants in my opinion because its a werewolf thats the size of a killer whale, that can also swim like one too. Cool video

My own worst version of torture is (drumroll please) Listening to music, but through your own voice. Doing it for HOURS. I personally would hate it, and I think you should do another one of those, but things we would comment our own torture types. 😊

    A couple ideas:
    1: Owlman of Mawnan
2: Lizard man of Scape Ore Swamp
3: Fouke Monster: basically really aggressive Bigfoot.

I love hearing about these mythical creatures and I think it's quite fascinating, I have only one mythical creature that has to be my favourite one, it's called the "black shuck" and it is a dog like creature with red eyes, it's big from what I can remember and it has been spotted in England, it is known for attacking a church and killing two people, a father and son. It then left, and apparently you can still see the marks of the black shuck on the door of the church. Sorry if I'm to late! But I like this mythical creature=)

The Drekavac reminds me of the Myling of Swedish folklore, which is the apparition of an unbaptized newborn who was killed by its parents. They can be heard at night, singing about their parent's crime. They're very spooky, but usually don't have ill intentions. If you encounter one, you can help it find peace by giving it a name or finding the body and burying it in holy soil.

You should look up The manananggal, this terrifying creature can detach it's upper body and fly off into the night seeking prey, it's interesting, but if you find it's lower body half you better start running cause the upper body will immediately know of your presence and start hunting you down
