    Hi guys I think it’s time I updated my thoughts on this product. It’s good and it will do the job but I think there are better options out there now if you really want an electric shaver. It’s also expensive and not always reliable despite claims that reliability of the product has improved in newer versions. 👍 just keeping it 💯 that’s my opinion.

      Thank you for keeping it real Harry, would you prefer the Remington rx5 to this?

      I used to own this and it had the same problem that all rotary shavers do. It irritated my skin too much because it requires so many passes over the skin and it is more abrasive than a foil shaver. I wish somebody would make a foil shaver like the Series 9 or Arc 5 but with a handle/body similar to the skull shaver. Even the skullshaver is too square for my taste. It should be a rounded body that is shaped perfectly for the palm to hold at the right angle for shaving the head.

    Been using one of these for about a year now, what I like is that the power stays consistent regardless of charge and it keeps all the shavings in the machine so you don't need to worry about getting stuff on your clothes, instead of going no guard with clippers every day I only need to use my skullshave every 2-3 days and I'm yet to need to change the head as the original one I have is still going strong, would definitely recommend 👍

    I just got it in the mail today. I ordered the Gold model with four heads. It’s hefty, the heads are more sturdy than norelco electric beard shavers. This shaver is in a class by itself, no competition. I used it today for the first time with 5 days stubble and it works as advertised, down to the skin. Goodbye are the days of nicking my scalp with blades, and making a mess after cutting hair first with clippers. This Pitbull cuts without the mess, without the nicks.

    Buyer beware. Mine lasted about 2 months, shaving just once a week. Skull shaver wanted me to pay for it to be shipped back so they could repair it. (They refused to pay for the shipping) So be cautious that if it fails, you will incur further charges. I threw mine in the bin and have gone back to disposable razors, i'm actually shaving in about the same time it took with this anyway and getting a closer shave to boot.

      Thanks for this insight. The amount of reviews stating this products reliability is really concerning. I Have contacted them to ask about this and they said it was due to a faulty batch. However there are so many people talking about reliability issues I'm wondering how many faulty batches we are talking about here.

      I bought the Pitbull Gold 9 months ago and use it 2-3 times per week with shaving cream in the shower. It works great for my busy life and is decently smooth with no irritation. I just follow up with Bump Patrol and moisturizer with tea tree oil.. Sorry you had that experience. I don't have a ton of time to shave so this is perfect for me.

    The skull shaver does it all. It shaves your head, your face and even your nose and ears with an attachment. It doesn't get anymore convenient than this for an all in one solution. The first time I used mine the other day I couldn't believe how close it was without any pain, particularly on my neck that always cuts and ends up breaking out in redness and pimples when I use a razor or even clippers. This is life changing for me!

    I actually just got the gold about two weeks ago and love it, I like it just to switch up from razor shaving every other day. I use mine dry, tried it wet with shaving gel but personally prefer just running it dry. You stated it best quick and fast, easy to use and clean and I live on a fixed income so not too awful bad as prices have come down now. I have mad respect for your beard young feller as I am trying to get mine to shape like yours here, love the more square type look if you know what I mean. I have been using it for about 3 months now and it is great. Like with any product, either its good to you or you have problems with it. I do use it every other day and the power stays the same if at 100% or 20%. My skin is sensitive so after the shave i use facial towel cleaner and finish it off with a moisturizer. I bought a skullshaver years ago. I find it is quite good when you use it with water.
    But to be fair, it takes just as long as using an actual razor to get it pretty smooth. Using the skullshaver dry is a great concept, but, my head became really dry and was very irritated by this.

    Decided to ignore reviews and comments pointing out faulty units or breaking after a short while. This was a mistake as mine was dead on arrival. Fortunately they do honor their 30 day guarantee so I ended up paying the shipping fee in order to have the unit sent back. Therefore, I would recommend taking skullshaver's build quality into serious consideration before handing over the money.

    Not a bad shave. Could be good for certain guys. Actually might be great for traveling. Could possibly pick this up for that reason.
    It seems like too much work though for day to day use. I shave my head every day only with the grain. Still a smooth shave, quick, no irritation. Takes 2 min and then slap on a good post shave balm and good to go.
    Guys with irritation, try using pre shave oil (I use American crew), cremo shave cream, and shaving with the grain only. Just an idea.

      No I don’t because they can cause bumps at the back of the neck etc. if you struggle with ingrown hairs it’s best to stick to hair clippers or maybe “mini clippers” that cut slightly closer 👍

    In a way, when you take your hair all the way down to the skin, it looks like you are not balding. I know if you still look closely you can see it, but in a way it’s like hiding in plain sight.

    I purchased this product from Amazon 2 months ago and I must say that it gives a close head shave but there are some problems. I'm African American and as you know we have dense curly hair, this hair seems to get trapped in the blades and is difficult to dislodge. The motor seems to turn off even though is still says 80% power left, the motor sounds like it's gonna dies soon. I don't like the idea of having to shell out $35.00 for a new blade head after 5 months. So, I'm stuck with the product now but I wouldn't recommended it to anyone, especially if your a black man.

    • @EazyE11
      @EazyE11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's unfortunate. Been looking for something that works. Even brought the bevel blade and no luck. I've been using the wahl balding clippers. Works decent enough but takes too long.

      While the trimmer is on, submerge the blades in a cup of warm water after every few passes of shaving. It allows the blades to clean themselves, this fixed that issue for me!

    • @slickpanther06
      @slickpanther06 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      This isn’t always the case. I’m black and when I shave my head you can still see a slight shadow because I’m not darker than my hairline. I am dark skinned though. I noticed that very dark skinned black men don’t seem to have a shadow when they shave. For some it’s weird because they may not be all that dark but still don’t have a shadow. Tupac is a perfect example. Don’t know how that works.

      Yes, Montel Williams and Floyd Mayweather are another example. Those guys are fortunate. I do have a white friend who’s older and shaves his head bald and he has absolutely no shadow. It could be because he’s gray and when he was younger he had no shadow, probably because he has blonde hair.

    Great video. So, how long did it realistically take you to shave your entire head to an acceptable closeness? How much pressure are you applying when shaving? In wet shave application, which do you think would work better - shaving cream or a shaving gel? Which blade do you prefer using for your personal use? Which post shave moisturizer do you prefer? Sorry for the interrogation. :) Just wanting your viewpoint and learn about your experience. Thank you for your time!!!

    Nice video man! Would be amazing if you could do a video when you use Andis Profoil shaver and see how it works on the head. I’m thinking to order one because sometimes you need a fast shave and don’t have time to wet shave with the safety razor so it’s better with electric machine. Have you tried it and if you have, how close shave do you get? Greetings from Sweden.
